DH is making mashed potatoes, to be topped with bacon and caramelized onions and red danish wieners. hehe. Every time we talk about Danish wieners I giggle like a 9 year old. But they are tasty! (giggles again at the thought of tasty Danish wieners)
Whenever we had a potluck at work, someone would bring cocktail weiners and someone else would inevitably bring meatballs, and then the vice principal would sit in the teachers lounge and make giggling comments about it.
This is also the guy who showed up to the work Tacky-Christmas-Sweater party wearing a tree skirt. And not much else.
@aviola329 Have you tried keeping some things you would consider acceptable pre-breakfast snack in an accessible place for him? My little hobbit started doing this when we moved into our house (right before she turned four) which I translated as half her growing need for independence and half genuine hunger (she sleeps a good 10-12 hours a night, I'd wake up hungry, too.)
We established a protocol (must eat at the dining table, one serving each of two different kinds of foods max from preapproved options, clean up after herself, etc.) and gave her some time to learn to follow said protocol that we'd just have discussion instead of punishment if things went 'wrong'.
She started with a dedicated drawer of the fridge for her stuff (yogurts, washed fruit, pancakes she was happy to eat cold, etc) but has gotten to the point where we can trust her to usually make pretty good choices without her own drawer. She also has her own area where her dishes are kept that she can reach.
This might not be your issue at all so ignore if it doesn't apply, just how we took what was an undesirable behavior (finding junk snacks and eating them in her room and trying to hide it - OR whining at my bedside an hour before I'd hoped to get up for something she was developmentally capable of doing herself) and redirected it in our house.
This is my suggestion too. If you overly watch them/helicopter parent them, it will totally backfire. Take the "naughtiness" out of the act and it won't be exciting anymore. I keep candy on a top shelf that only adults can reach. DD has access to all the fruits/veggies, yogurt, lunchables, turkey, fruit rolls, fruit squishy pouches etc. This allows her to grab what she needs when she needs it. Sometimes she will randomly be eating a cucumber like a Popsicle, but whatever. If you give them more independence it will free up your time to focus on actual problems. Pick your battles or you will have constant rebellion.
We used to have an issue with DD not liking what I would pick for her to wear, so now I lay out folded up pre-picked outfits at the beginning of the week and she grabs which bundle of clothes she wants to wear for the day.
Giving them as many choices as possible at this age is key. It really helps their sense of independence. And say no as little as possible. I'm not saying don't parent them by any means, but if you take "no" out of your vocabulary, you are better able to work together as a team to come up with a solution and you definitely want them On the same side as you!
I want to clean my office before SO comes back this weekend but I just keep looking at all the junk and thinking "what the hell am I supposed to do with this?"
I told DH about the maids coming so he would pick up the big things in his office and the response I got was "why did you hire someone? Can't you do it?" No. I cannot clean the entire house, pick up your shit so I can provide gainful employment to another through my tiredness.
Ugh I want a maid! I was so surprised talking to SO last night because I am trying to make sure all my January-March business expenses are tracked (self employed) and I was like "Oh the kitchen is a mess, the house is a mess, my papers are everywhere, yet I gt so much done today" and he is so OCD ESPECIALLY about the kitchen being clean, yet he said "You focus on your business, I will clean when I get there." I almost shit myself.
So now today cleaning my office, I basically just keep sorting through piles of things and moving them to different places. Not efficient in the least. And I always feel so accomplished until I look at it and go "Well fuck...nothing actually got done..."
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
Shaving... Whats that! That went out the window with my sex drive! Wonder if they are related!
We got a new Internet service that has a "global mode" meaning I can watch all those shows you guys talk about without illegally downloading them! Nz tv sucks! Unless you pay ridiculous amount for subscription tv everything is monthe, or even a year behind the states!
With this new internet I can gat Netflix or Hulu or whatever! Question... Which is best?

I finally got off my ass today and made some progress toward my hospital bag (travel size shampoo/toothpaste/face wash, lip balm, toothbrush, hard candy, notepad, PJ's). Take that, procrastination!

Your ticker scares me, 11 days! But that is also super exciting!
For some reason when I consider the fact that I have about 5 weeks left I think "damn, that's a long time..." But when I see my ticker and it says "33 days" it seems like no time at all. I think I'm going to have to mentally count in days from now on.

OK, dumb question. How common is it for a baby that's been head down (and descended, according to my midwife) to turn breech at 36, almost 37 weeks? Dr. Google wasn't much help. But, I felt hiccups in my upper abdomen, instead of lower like usual!
Very uncommon. My son did that, and he turned back again - but they told me it was only because he was very small that he had the room.
I also know exactly when he flipped. It was crazy and kind of painful. It really felt like I was having an Alien moment and he was trying to claw his way out. I think if a baby flips that late, you'd notice crazy movement, not just hiccups in a new place.
Yea, that's the thing. I had CRAZY pain/uncomfortableness last night. And then I'm incredibly sore today. But, DH thinks he felt the hiccups lower than I was. So, if it hadn't been like that the night before, I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it. He is a bit on the smaller side, so they think, but, I'm just going to be optimistic about it :-D

I don't know how common it is, but that is what just happened to me. LO flipped to breech sometime between 35 1/2 weeks and my ultrasound today. She had been head down for months and now I am overly panicked that she won't flip back
@avidkeo - If you are deciding which one to pay for, go with Netflix. Hulu Plus subscriptions only make sense if you like: Classic shows from 1950-1970 (me) or Criterion Collection films (DH).
Re: shaving: eff that noise. I'm going to see how long before I can braid it. Or I may just break down and use my electric razor. I can't decide which is sexier: prickly leg stubble or soft but hairy legs. I'm also concerned that every time I shower will be the last pre-baby shower that won't hurt my body (and I've still got a month to go and am probably going to have to do a RCS).
Does it concern me enough to shower every day though? Fuck no!!
Thanks @katieharpiceland. I thought I shared your great attitude of "it is what it is" but apparently I don't because I cried through my U/S after she told me. So as I type this and try to count my blessings, I am laying down with my ass in the air and a bag of frozen edamame where LO's head is!
I shaved my legs today because I wanted to get a pedicure and I feel like they massage your feet longer if they are hair free. Then I decided why waste this opportunity and booked myself a massage appt tomorrow.
Also I want to make penne and vodka sauce tonight but that requires me to go to the liquor store to get the vodka. I'm sure I'll be judged and I'm not sure I care....

I totally would probably react the same if my midwife told me he has flipped. Its only because I'm not sure that I have this attitude :-D
LO has been freaking me out all day. He wont move for like 3 hours then he will lightly tap something presumably in Morse code to make me feel better. I called my OB's office and the answering service lady was so rude I told her my concern and she said " The office isn't open now, call back later. This line is for emergencies." WTF? I called back 20 min later and the guy that answered at least said he send a fax over to the office. Since then I've gotten more movement and I'm not so worried.
I hate this!! She is NOT there to determine what is an emergency!!!
Wow what a fucking cuntburger. I'd have flipped my shit.

That shower was exhausting. Why did I decide to shave my legs? Ugh. Also, my ass apparently is covered in peachfuzz too fine for my razor to do anything about it. Annoying.
I *really* need to shave my legs. Soooo little motivation.
I shave only to prove that I still can.

@ebie79 I don't have very much packed for the actual L&D portion (just the hard candy and notepad so far really). I'll probably throw a pair of flip flops in there because I plan on being mobile during labor. Most of what I have is for recovery. I'm using a diaper bag for everything I'm packing: recovery items on the bottom, L&D items on top. I'll probably just have DH take the whole bag into L&D since it's not very large. If I packed a separate L&D bag it probably wouldn't be any larger than a typical roomy purse.

The guy at the nail place just told me to turn the massage chair off during my pedicure because I'll hurt the baby. Uh, eff you-the only reason I'm here is for this massage chair you dick.
@avidkeo - I vote Netflix. I occasionally use Hulu for my guilty pleasure reality-TV type shows (I'm looking at you, Bachelor...), but I can get them with the free version of Hulu just by waiting a few extra days. Netflix, on the other hand, always has a ton of stuff I want to watch that I can't get elsewhere online without downloading it illegally.

Next time just say 'oh don't worry, I'm getting an abortion' to make the conversation nice and uncomfortable. Fuck people who can't mind their own business-as if there's even anything wrong with what you were doing!
Hahahahaha I wish I would have. The guy actually doing my pedi just gave me an extra leg massage, so I forgive the place and will just make sure to get him forever and ever...

I hate getting dressed. I have like two dresses and three shirts that fit and none of it makes me feel good about myself. I do my hair and make up and think I look nice then go to get dressed and get so down.

yeah, I'm always weary of her posts...I half expected my advice to be going toward a dog that didnt exist. and I just went to read what they said, and I have to say, just sounds like people that have never had experience with pit bulls and are scared of them because of what they hear, which I must admit, I used to be one. My dad terrified us about them. But experience proved my pit bull is the best dog ever! haha

I'm officially a stay at home mom!!! Ok, so I don't have a kid in my arms just yet, but today was my last day. Feels so good to not have to be responsible for all of the managerial stuff anymore! I'm planning on doing some freelance work for them that I can do from home, at my own pace. This pleases me.
