Still pregnant and trying to be Zen not miserable. Anyone else? Come in!

I'm a STM, 40+1, and had also declined all cervical checks until my 40-week appointment.

(I'm GBS+ and am worried about accidentally passing along that bacteria via a check. I had a million checks last GBS+ pregnancy and DS was born with an unexplained infection, so I'm a little paranoid.)

Anyway, after several days of 8-hour long bouts of irregular contractions, I decided I'd have my doc check my cervix and strip my membranes yesterday. I was tired of the false labor and figured she could get something started. Turns out she couldn't, because I'm not even fingertip dilated. I wasn't at this point in my first pregnancy either, but I also hadn't been having days of contractions last time. I've been telling myself that this false labor is wonderful, that I'm shaving hours off the real thing, that every contraction is doing something. I almost cried when I found out that it's all been completely ineffectual.

Even worse, my OB couldn't hide her surprise at how completely not progressed I am for a STM.

Now resolved to not check again until 42 weeks. I need to be able to hold on to my positive delusions that my body is moving things along in unseen ways. lol

My zen happened yesterday. I was glowing! I did not feel 9 months pregnant! I felt amazing! I had energy, I wasn't angry at anyone or anything. I had a heart to heart with my boss who told me wonderful things about paying me while I'm out on maternity leave (I was not expecting that at ALL!) and plans for my next to nonexistent return, how much we don't like the new girl, and then I spent the afternoon shopping for organizers to setup my home office for where I'll be working post baby.

Then my husband & i went out for dinner and I got to hang out with my suuuuper cute 5 month old nephew. It was so nice to feel normal and good!

Unfortunately this morning I feel like I got hit by a train. My zen has slowed down. But I'm working from home today! So I'm going to keep it positive! Baby will just come whenever she wants. Not a big rush, no hurry. Mama's got a big mess she needs to take care of today before you can arrive!

Even though I'm tired this morning, I'm a little more zen. It's in the 50s, temp-wise today, which means it's FINALLY warm enough to walk around outside and go get that mani-pedi I want!!!

Zen has been hard to come by this morning. I didn't sleep; spent all night tossing and turning so I'm crabby and don't really want to deal with anyone. I've already recieved a few of the "is baby coming?" texts. No, baby isn't here yet. No, I don't know when she will be here. No I don't want to discuss how dialated I am. And then when I say I feel like garbage, it becomes "oh just wait.." blah blah blah. Just once I would love a text or phone call that starts with asking how I am, not when is she getting here.
I am hopeful that I'll get out of this funk at some point today... Just not too sure when.

I was so zen yesterday, even tried to help others find theirs and then last night for no reason, BAM! Started crying and have no idea why. I also could not fall asleep at all. Then, DH woke up with a swollen foot that he can't even Stand on, out of nowhere, and we're hoping it's just an infection and not something like a bone spur bc with my due date a weeek away, we really don't have time for surgery, plus I really need him to be mobile when I go into labor... He has a dr's appt tomorrow at 7 am so we'll see what they say. Of course, this also meant I only got 2-3 hours of sleep last night so I am like a zombie today

I kind of feel in a funk today too.. we really thought last night I would go into labor.

Two reasons, the first because I have always had the date March 20th pop up in my mind for baby to be born and second TMI I started losing my mp yesterday and that has been the only thing new and exciting to happen other then the constant intense BH contractions.... so I for sure thought something would happen last night. And of course, nothing. Im trying to stay positive but its hard

I have a midwife appt today and I hope I am making good progress!!!

Keeping the positive Zen vibes flowing - had a beautiful walk in the sunshine with DH, we walked about a mile! Then my sister came over and brought the blocks I'd been hoping to find for newborn pictures and my mom found the cloth diapers for burp cloths that is been looking for and now we're all going to Chick-fil-a for lunch!

It doesn't feel sexy, and more often than not I'm not thinking about how it feels for me, I'm thinking about the fact that while we're DTD, she's in there moving around. Which is just total weirdness.

Keeping zen despite not liking the covering doctor at all and needing $400 of work in my car, on top of needing new tires in the near future. What other choice do I have?
I just saw two peeps on a tandem bike go up the road. It made me giggle atleast.

LO got an eviction date today of March 27 and I'm freaking out a little bit. I'm restoring my zen through dessert - I went to the store and got the stuff to make labor cake. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work and I still got to eat chocolate cake.

We can continue to be Zen together!

This morning my goal was to take things minute by minute and I have succeeded until just about right now. I just kept asking myself, "what do I want to be doing with this moment in time?" and then I did it.

Some of it was productive (folded two loads of laundry,, started another) and some of it wasn't (binge-watched Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren) but it worked pretty well for me!

Having trouble with the weather here. Forecast to be 30's and overcast for the foreseeable future . . . sigh. I really want some warmth and some sun.

BUT ANYWAY I recommend the "what do I want to be doing in this moment?" trick. If you can provide yourself with realistic answers, it works.

Thank you! :-) I am hoping for me, too . . . but I would also be OK with going a little longer. My mom's birthday is Sunday, just the day before my due date, and I'd love to have the baby on her birthday (she'd love that too).

A few months ago, I told DH i was going overdue because LO is going to be an Aries. I read about it again today, and her personality (over energetic, etc) is already 100% Aries.

I'm a Virgo too, and I put our signs into the site @WoodShopGirl‌ mentioned. Basically, it will be a bit of a challenge, since we're so orderly/neat and LO won't be like that. I think my daughter is going to make me more relaxed haha.

I haven't dilated at all and just writing that is making me tear up. They tried to comfort me and tell me that there is nothing wrong. Baby just isn't ready to come out. My husband even started tearing up cuz he didnt like seeing me upset.
So..I am going in on Tuesday and they will check me again and I will be 42 weeks on Wednesday and they will send me to get an NST done... I hope it doesn't come to that though and baby decides to come this weekend or something...

Man, I hadn't even thought about the astrology thing. Apparently LO and I are NOTgoing to get along. Oh well, that's what happens when they're teens anyway. Already had a HUGE fight tonight with my 16yo and I have decided I am done with today and going to have dinner with a girlfriend and maybe even a glass of red wine. This far along I'm sure it's totally fine. My zen will be at the bottom of that glass I am certain.

My younger brother is an Aries. He has more of the self absorbed and active all the time traits. WE Get along fine, but we know we are pretty different from each other.

Hey girls I wanted to update here since I've been hanging out here for the last few days

I also posted in the Roll Call thread.
I think im in labor. Contractions woke me up and a minute later I felt leaking so I ran to the toilet and more fluid came out before I started peeing..sorry for the details

we've been timing contractions and they are 2-4 minutes apart and last a minute or less.. been texting my Doula!
I dont have a labor buddy so I guess this is the 'im in labor post'

pray for me!? Im scared and excited and nervous!

My zen today, I have my 40 week appt. This may or may not be zen after a cervical check, but at least I know that no matter what I only have a week+ left (my OB will only let me go to 41).

Plus my appt means that I get to play hooky from work for a few hours!
