... A friend of mine had a baby boy and I've changed his diaper multiple times and his penis is what I would call almost not even there... Like, flush with his skin. Is this normal? I mean, I didn't expect it to be big, but it's nothing I've ever seen before and I'm always around babies. Obviously, I'm not googling this, and I don't want to ask the mom because that's just weird... But I'm really thankful we are having a girl and I don't have to deal with these boy things.
OK, sorry if I missed this being suggested earlier, but could it be "buried penis"? Very chunky little boys get this sometimes.
When DH isn't home by 5:30 I text him to figure out where he is. When he says "home soon" I take that as permission to eat dinner without him. I'm crabby because had I known he was going to be this late I would have caught up on pretty little liars!!!

I learned yesterday that circumcision might not be covered by our insurance - is anyone else running into this issue? I need to call Blue Cross tomorrow but thought I'd find out from you ladies first what your coverage is.
Mine is not covered either. If your insurance doesn't cover it your doctor may do it at a reduced rate. Ours charges $150 if you're paying OOP.
I forgot that I ordered a bra from zulily. It just came. And this conversation happened:
Me: oh yeah, I forgot I ordered this huge bra DH: like a comically large joke bra or one you're actually going to wear? Me: (glares) just stop talking.

I had buffalo wings and cinnamon French toast cereal for dinner.. It's like first trimester all over. And I'm not even mad about it
I've done a pretty thorough study of all of the "toast crunch" cereals during this pregnancy and have found that nothing beats the original. Just FYI, here are my findings in order of most delicious to just okay:

Ok...here goes with our name choices. We're having a boy. Middle name is set, it will be 2 syllables. Last name is a strong 2 syllable name. Trying to decide between:
1. Sullivan - which has been our front-runner for a while, but I really don't care for the nickname Sully - primarily because I'm a grammar nerd and I know how terrible the verb is (although as a proper noun, arguably different, and I guess many people sadly don't even know what sully means as a verb). I would prefer the full name, or Van as a NN.
Or
2. Truman - positives here include the 2 syllables, consistent with MN & LN, and I don't mind "True" if someone shortens it. Also, my family has a weird history of using presidential names.
I like Sullivan better. I guess I would think sully from monsters ink or that I know a few dogs named sully before associating it with the verb to sully. I don't think most people's minds would go there first but if it would bug you then don't use it, or insist on the nn you do like. I imagine some people would still use the nn sully though.

Thoughts? Preference? Or hate them both?
We are def naming kiddo Sullivan, so I am biased. DH hates the nickname Sully but loves Van, I am just pretending nobody is gonna call him Sully. I also knew a kid named Truman and it was adorable. They called him "T-man" a lot. I dig em both, so I guess it depends on the middle and last names!
I've been having the "period-like" cramps since before bed last night. Man, I've forgotten how annoying it feels to be all achey and cramped up like that. I'd love to use the heating pad on my belly (on low, in short intervals, only approved by my Dr...) but baby does acrobatics when I put something particularly warm/cold on my belly for longer than a second.
I am playing catch up but need to put this out there:
Seriously if this baby does not stop playing Grabby with my cervix I am going to yank her out of there! Just spent an hour in a meeting with everyone asking me if the baby was coming...... 3 1/2 hours of constant painful movements is scaring me... this is really not the norm for her. And the fur baby won't leave my lap. Is something really going on?
I asked DH if he liked dinner (I made a goulash type concoction) and he said he did. I told him it was yummier with cheese on it like I had on mine. He looked around and said something about how the cheese wasn't out so he didn't even think about putting cheese on it. I told him I think on terms of "can this meal have cheese on it?" And go forth accordingly. I also refer to parmesan cheese as "Italian salt".

My abs have been splitting since about 24 weeks. At this point I don't feel like LO is trying to rip through, it is just really hard to sit up from any kind of reclined position.

does it hurt while you walk at all?
I sometimes get a stitch in my side, like I've been running. My back almost always hurts a bit, but walking almost always opens it up. It doesn't hurt near my split abs. Maybe because I have an anterior placenta?

Did someone here say that they were adding items to their target registry as they went along in the store by scanning it on their phone? Can you do that?
@embear22 That was me. I have the Target app on my phone so I just went to the menu and logged in under my registry. It lists your registry and at the top it has a button to click to scan new items. Bam, it automatically goes on your registry. So awesome. It also has a bar code for your registry so the clerk just scans your phone to know which items you get for 10% off.

I've been feeling pretty good physically. Not much pain at all. Luke peed on his clothes and was throwing a fit so I went to the dryer to get a warm onesie. I forgot I had major surgery and ran down the stairs. So I could get to him faster.
Fucking. Idiot. Shooting pains all in my belly now.
Does anyone else see these outside babies and wonder how in the world that they have the same thing all curled up inside them!? It just doesn't seem possible.
Yes, and this isn't my first pregnancy.

I just discovered "Once Upon A Child"... And I don't think I'll ever buy new baby clothes again!! I was beginning to feel sad that James had sooooo many "I love Mommy" outfits and not nearly enough stuff to wear that symbolizes DH. Fixed that! I don't think I've ever bought so many MN Twins/baseball outfits in my life.
@Stace0616 Ahh, don't go buying up all the MN Twins baby outfits in town! I need some!!

Questions for ladies with spd:
What does it feel like and is it a constant pain or does it go away sometimes?
Mine only hurts when I stand on one leg (putting on pants or socks, etc), and when I get up to walk. It feels like I did 1000 plie squats AND rode a horse for hours. Like inner thigh/pelvic sharp pains.
THIS. I stand on one leg to put on a sock and quickly remember BAD IDEA. Mine aches when I walk but the searing pain is typically when I am standing one legged....Prenatal yoga started getting pretty brutal last week and I am not sure if I am helping or hurting myself--- so this week I will be the one just doing child's pose in the corner
Hold up. People put on socks while standing?
I don't think I could do that not pregnant.
Oddly its easier for me to do that then sit down! My belly is so high, when I sit I can't bend! Its really uncomfortable for me to sit on a couch or bed... I have to be slightly reclined. I am waiting for it to drop ...yet dreading it for my bladder!

Don't worry, @LoriMc12! I left some good ones! Oh, and all of the Vikings stuff. DH isn't a big football fan, nor am I, so we're trying to groom the kid into liking baseball. My friend got us these adorable tiny baseball sunglasses and baseball booties, which means we'll be taking James to his first Twins game this summer. Maybe we'll run into you guys there lol!
Sorry, as a pilot, all the crazy theories on the missing Malaysian airliner have been annoying me so much. This is the only article I've read that makes sense. It fits with the basic emergency principles that we teach even to the brand new student pilots I work with. I've repeated "Aviate, navigate, then communicate" more times than I can count and that is exactly what it looks like the pilot did. I hate that people think "terrorism!" just because the crew didn't make a distress call. If your plane is on fire, it's way more important to get in a position to land and to shut off the source of the fire (if possible) than it is to make a radio call.
Ok, rant over. But seriously, this guy is smart and most news outlets are not.
But now they are saying that the co pilots sign off was 12 minutes AFTER the plane turned around.
@Dani+California I have been wanting sweets all the time. But then again, I always do and always have. I was the kid that looked under couch cushions for change then ran to the little convenience store down the street to buy handfuls of tootsie rolls.

Ok, yes! This seems like exactly what it would be (the picture looks about right), although he is not overweight or chunky. It's just flush with the skin completely, and he is cut.

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a decent Tuesday
:-h
My dog has been vomiting for days now so we brought her to the vet. She was kinda hippyish and claimed it was my hormones stressing her out and affecting her gut.
Yeah, okay.

That's translates to "I don't know what's wrong with her" to me. Hope you figure it out!
And my weird end to the day: SO was being an ass wagon this morning but we worked it out, decided to get pizza for dinner. I made a joke about how my mom used pizza and sex to get her going for all four kids, so we could only do one. Then he's all "lets get this baby out tonight, before I have to go to work" so we have awesome great sex, and then went for a nice walk. Of course he had to leave to go to work an hour and a half away. And now I feel super crampy, hours later haha. And I pooped, so I must be in labor right? Haha just kidding.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
DH has busted out the "you snore when you are sleeping on your back" recording twice today and is threatening to use it as an alarm on his phone. It is so bad!! I got embarrassed enough that he assures me it's only when I roll onto my back and don't wake up, but now I don't believe him and have a complex. I might punch him if he plays that recording again.

You know what cereal I haven't had in a long time? Waffle Crisp. Do they still even make it? I could go for some right about now.
Outback was a bust. But they were so busy we had to sit at the bar. And I ordered a virgin daiquiri. The looks we got were hysterical
