  • Pie pie pie.
    Damn it I want pie!
  • So I've been sleeping on the couch the last couple nights because I can sleep for 3-4 hours at a stretch there.  I'm awake every hour if I sleep in the bed to either change positions or get up to pee.  DH thought he'd sleep on the couch with me last night.  He was snoring like a bear a couple hours ago so I woke him up and asked him to lay on his side instead of his back.  He told me to "have some fucking respect" for him because he is overweight, and tried to compare that to pregnancy.  I hope for his sake he wasn't awake enough to realize what he was saying.  It pissed me off enough that I couldn't go back to sleep.  Dick.
  • I wake up/get up at the exact same times every day. I did this with DD, as well.. crazy how the body works.

Went to a green chili cook off yesterday, which was delicious and a lot of fun with good weather, ran into lots of people I knew, DH drank some beer and sweet tea vodka, then our whole group continued over to a friends porch to enjoy sunshine and more drinks (for them). I had to drag a hammered DH home at 8 pm and at 4 am he woke me up to move over in bed for him. I ended up staying awake, with green chili heartburn and he went off to puke in the bathroom. I never did fall back asleep. DH is in for a world of hurt today. He didn't think it would be a problem if I went into labor....
  • @mamamonzo ((((((hugs))))) hun, I wish I could go and kick him in the ass. Hopefully you got some rest and talk it out.

@kcp913 not cool, I will add YH name to the swift kick in the ass list.

((hugs)) mamamonzo. I hope you get some rest today!

Last night I insisted DH stay at his friend's house because he had been drinking but truthfully, I just wanted to sleep in bed by myself. He's sick right now so the past couple of nights he has been snoring and breathing loudly on my neck, which wakes me up and then I always have the hardest time falling back asleep. Last night was glorious. I only woke up once and fell right back to sleep!

I was grateful that DH got up with DS again. Except I never really got back to sleep, and I feel worse now than if I had just gotten up with DS. Then I got up and DH is basically sleeping on the couch while DS runs around making a mess. ::sigh::
While I appreciate his efforts, this is usually what happens when DH "wakes up with DD". He'll get up with her but won't let the dogs out so my OCD brain won't let me sleep because I know the dogs aren't being tended to. Drives me up the wall.

I hope you get a break! I would give anything for a decent break.

DH finally got his shit together at about 3 AM when I was sobbing in the bathroom. I think he gets it now. He was up all night with me. We had a horrible night with Lucas, he ate every 15 or 20 minutes for 5 minutes each time (cluster feeding??) he would only sleep when held which we couldn't do. Finally at about 7 I kicked DH out of the room with the baby told him to make a bottle and let me sleep. They managed to survive. Now DH is getting his hour nap. Question: did you let baby sleep on your chest at all? The hospital was so against it, I assume it's because they don't want new parents to fall asleep and drop the baby? Am I being over parrinoid by not allowing it to happen at home as well? Is Lucas' eating patten last night cluster feeding? How long do they generally go through that face! Thanks for all your support xoxox I only use our board so all my questions will always be directed here, in scared of other boards!!
DD loved sleeping on my chest. Hospitals don't allow it because of the risk of smothering the baby, especially when you're so tired because you might not realize something is happening. I'm sorry you are having a hard time :( Have you tried swaddling? Swing? Rock n play? Co-sleepers?

I know a lot of women cosleep just fine but I was never comfortable with myself to do it.

Ugh TMI but I pooped a bunch this morning and my back has been killing me since. My stomach has been cramping off and on since. I'm not ready for this yet. I'm laying in bed, refusing to acknowledge that labor might be starting soon. LO is not allowed to come until Friday night, my friend flys in on Friday so that she can watch DS and my dogs when we are in the hospital.
Me!  I spent a few hours last night on the floor of the bathroom.. trying to keep down some applesauce now.  Hope it's just a bug or something I ate last night.

When SO won't help I tell him I have a stomach ache and go take a long long shower. He then has to do whatever he was avoiding. Men just can't do it for themselves when someone else will do it lol

This is exactly what I do. DH forgets a lot too so I have to constantly write to do lists for "myself" and hang them on the fridge.

I let DD sleep in my arms pretty much every night. I know it's not recommended. It's what worked for us.
  • Did you guys ever use a tennis ball for back labor? Or find anything that seemed to help? It was more intense for me than actual contractions with DD, and I'd like to attempt med free.

  • "I'll take him to church in the morning."
    Ok
"So am I taking him to church?!"
You mean noon mass, right in the middle of his nap? No. Moron. Not unless you want him to be a complete lunatic. You were supposed to take him to an earlier nap, but you slept on the couch and then sat on the toilet for 40 minutes.

Sometimes I feel the need to explain my love its. Don't love the situation, but I totally feel for you. Men are idiots.

I didn't use a tennis ball but my DH did use his hands to put lots of counter pressure on my lower back during contractions. I know a lot of women use tennis balls for counter pressure.

Definitely.  People at work commented on it the other day, and I've been able to breathe a little easier!  But now there's so much pressure on my cervix and my bladder that I feel like I always have to pee and I have perma lightning crotch.

    This! When are you due?
