Finally! BIL showed up and I got to. Gorge myself on pizza. He invited us over to his place for lunch tomorrow so since that means more food, I guess I'll forgive him.

So I just got caught up on the belly cast thread and its almost dead and j dot want to revive it.... But did op seriously compare her belly mold to Renoir *huge eye roll*

Haha this was me yesterday. I had Indian for lunch and dinner. LO took it like a champ but then started kicking like crazy when I added cherry pie to the mix.

I was sad I missed St. Paddy's dinner with my family yesterday so DH went and picked me up a yummy corned beef and cabbage dinner from our local irish pub! It was expensive take out but I needed some yummy comfort food after the last couple of days I had!

Call me cheap but I'm really irritated at the fact that our friends are having a beer and diaper party for the guys, as well as a baby shower for the women. I'm not against either but I really didn't want to spend $60 on baby shit that's not for my baby. I'm just grumpy. DH is at the beer and diaper party drinking beer and eating food while I'm stuck at home with DD.. Like always.

I felt phantom kicks after DD for a long time. It might be your uterus contracting and shrinking back down.

awwww!! I've been sleeping on our couch. More comfortable...no snoring! Unfortunately, I still sleep like crap. I'm guessing we all do!

I felt phantom kicks for months after DD was born.

Sigh. I need to stay far, far away from my pre pregnancy photos. I just keep telling myself, my face will look like that again.. My ankles will come back.. It will all be ok.

Even easier: use a stand mixer or hand-held beaters. Food processor works but I find it makes the butter a more whipped consistency than I like and is harder to get te butter out if. I use my kitchen aid with the paddle attachment. You whip until the butter forms a solid lump swimming in buttermilk. (It's not super yellow, depending on your cream.) Then rinse it with cold water, squishing it in a bowl either with cheesecloth or your hands to rinse all the buttermilk out. This part is super important because buttermilk in butter will cause it to spoil quickly. You can salt the cream before you whip or not, as per taste, and the better the cream, the better the butter. So good! And cheaper than farmers market, at least in my area.

I store mine (when I remember to make it) in a butter urn, because it's not a nice stick shaped for a dish. You can make a butter log, of course, with Saran Wrap, but you can also fake a butter urn by mashing the butter into the bottom of a teacup or coffee mug and putting it mouth-down in a dish with a little water in it. The water makes the seal between cup and dish air-tight and butter will stay stored at room temp this way for about two-three weeks.

Dude I went to Walmart a couple of days ago to pick up the Rock n Play my grandma bought us (along with a few food essentials), and I had come out of an aisle and moved off to the side so I wasn't taking up all the space in the main thoroughfare; apparently I was doing so at a snail's pace, cause some bitch was right up my ass with her cart and damn near rammed into the back of me! When I turned around to see her, she gives me the stink eye and says "oh, 'scuse me" with this tone... You know what I'm talking about... So I just rub my belly, look at her with the heat of 1000 suns and say "oh you're excused" in the same shitty tone, as she trucks on past me. I so wanted to slap the scowl right off of her skull. TWAT. Assholes have no patience!

Ugh, Walmart. The commissary isn't too much of a difference though but I'm just blissfully ignorant when I go in there. I walk whatever pace I want and don't really pay attention to anyone else lol
