That moment when someone you haven't heard from in two months texts you and tells you exactly what to do with your son's penis.  :-@
    Um. Say what now?
@ColleenSwerb A girl I knew from college (for the past 2 years we've only kept in contact very intermittently via Facebook or text) texted me a little while ago out of nowhere with two paragraphs about how DH and I should not circumcise our son. I told her two or three months ago (the last time she texted me before this) that DH and I were going to discuss it between ourselves and come to a decision together. We haven't even decided yet! If I ask for opinions or bring up the topic myself I am comfortable with whatever information I receive, but seriously? I didn't even ask.  8-|

Does anyone have any ideas on how to freshen up a couch?? Idk why but to me, our couch stinks like our dogs! I'm tempted to buy a portable steam cleaner.

  • Blue, that's insane.
Yyyep! Just chalking it up to youthful ignorance about appropriateness (she's 22) and ignoring it. I just thought it was absolutely nuts--not even a "hello" first!

I'm tired of hearing about this storm watch in Southern California. I know we need the rain, but could it just wait to start like Monday? My shower is Saturday, and my sister has been going above and beyond planning it for me. She had a vision to transform her backyard into an Alice and Wonderland theme. Down to giant flowers and mushrooms to the Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit.

She wanted to postpone it, but it's too hard to reschedule with the amount of people that had RSVPd. So everything is going to moved inside. She's really disappointed about it all. I just hope it's not too bad and everyone gets their safely.
What the what?! It never rains in Southern California! lol (sorry - had to)

How crappy that Mother Nature decides to have a doozy of a storm right on your shower weekend! Sorry about that! It sounds like it would've been pretty amazing. :(

Working insane hours. He's an accountant, and I am a tax widow. Hence why I don't want this kid to come early. :)

I had to AW this picture of a tree my friend drew for us, She drew it exactly like the one he had for our thumbprint tree for our wedding. This time she added an extra heart with "N" for baby girl. We will have it at the shower for everyone to put their thumbprints with pink ink and hang it in her room. I also want people who come visit her to also add to it later.

We did that at our shower too! My grandma made the tree! I adore it!

Ohhh I see! That's no bueno. Hopefully baby stays put long enough! My SIL was saying today what if I have a May baby since I'm due towards the end, and I was like, "Don't wish that evil on me! [-X" Needless to say I can relate to the being uncomfortable part. :P

ok this may be long. I was talking to a pregnant friend of mine today. She said she had had back trouble years ago and told her midwife. Her midwife then referred her to an anesthesiologist to make sure that she was ok to have an epidural. She's not planning on having one. My friend said the anesthesiologist was saying how happy he is when pregnant women who have had back problems get checked out so that they know for sure at the time that there would be no complications because sometimes getting info from a woman in labor is extremely difficult.

I had a botched kidney biopsy years ago. I still have numbness and tingling from the nerve damage. Kidney biopsies aren't in your spine. My medical records for that are not here, obviously, nor could they be easily received here. Should I mention it to my midwife? I'm not planning on having an epidural, but, you never know with c sections and stuff. Also, mentioning some stuff to my midwife I only know the english words for is REALLY difficult. It took 10 minutes to explain pertussis and get the Icelandic word for it. (ok, not an excuse, just a small vent.)

    ETA extra word

DH and I just went to jack in the box after childbirth class, I calculated that I could have one kiddie size order of fries and be ok for my evening snack range of carbs for my GD, this was going to be the first "splurge" I've let myself have. We got home and I went to the bathroom. Came out and he had eaten most of my fries and was feeding the rest of them to the dog. I'm upstairs crying - and I don't know if I'm angrier at DH or the dog. :'(

OMG WHY WOULD HE DO THAT?! He was there with you when you ordered them, why would he even think that was ok to do?! TP to your H! I am super angry for you!!

Ditto this! MH's ass would be in the car getting me more right now!!!

@ashleypixie I need your professional guidance as a hair stylist.

My broke unemployed ass needs a haircut, so I went onto CL and searched for "free haircuts", and answered an ad to be a training model for a newly licensed stylist needing to add to his portfolio/something about hours at this salon he works at now (?). The haircut he is planning to practice on me with is ADORABLE and the exact cut that I want anyway - and an educator will be there to make sure everything is perfect before I leave, so why not take advantage of the free cut, right?!

My question to you is this: in this type of situation, is a tip still expected/appreciated? Or because it's an educational experience, is it not necessary to provide a tip? I'd hate to show up, get through it, and piss the dude off cause I didn't bring any cash with me... So WWAPD? Do you expect a tip when you perform a practice cut on a model?
