@ColleenSwerb A girl I knew from college (for the past 2 years we've only kept in contact very intermittently via Facebook or text) texted me a little while ago out of nowhere with two paragraphs about how DH and I should not circumcise our son. I told her two or three months ago (the last time she texted me before this) that DH and I were going to discuss it between ourselves and come to a decision together. We haven't even decided yet! If I ask for opinions or bring up the topic myself I am comfortable with whatever information I receive, but seriously? I didn't even ask. 8-|

Ohhh I see! That's no bueno. Hopefully baby stays put long enough! My SIL was saying today what if I have a May baby since I'm due towards the end, and I was like, "Don't wish that evil on me! [-X" Needless to say I can relate to the being uncomfortable part. :P

ok this may be long. I was talking to a pregnant friend of mine today. She said she had had back trouble years ago and told her midwife. Her midwife then referred her to an anesthesiologist to make sure that she was ok to have an epidural. She's not planning on having one. My friend said the anesthesiologist was saying how happy he is when pregnant women who have had back problems get checked out so that they know for sure at the time that there would be no complications because sometimes getting info from a woman in labor is extremely difficult.

I had a botched kidney biopsy years ago. I still have numbness and tingling from the nerve damage. Kidney biopsies aren't in your spine. My medical records for that are not here, obviously, nor could they be easily received here. Should I mention it to my midwife? I'm not planning on having an epidural, but, you never know with c sections and stuff. Also, mentioning some stuff to my midwife I only know the english words for is REALLY difficult. It took 10 minutes to explain pertussis and get the Icelandic word for it. (ok, not an excuse, just a small vent.)

Hell no! Not respecting french fry boundaries is serious business. I swear there are times when DH and I go through the drive through and I ask him twice (purposely, because I know how he operates) if he wants french fries and he will say "no" both times... And then as soon as we pull away he proceeds to snatch a few of my fries from the bag! Why? WHY? All it would take is a dollar and some change to avoid my wrath. If he tried it while I was pregnant there would be a throwdown and he would likely lose a testicle. X(

@ashleypixie I need your professional guidance as a hair stylist.

My broke unemployed ass needs a haircut, so I went onto CL and searched for "free haircuts", and answered an ad to be a training model for a newly licensed stylist needing to add to his portfolio/something about hours at this salon he works at now (?). The haircut he is planning to practice on me with is ADORABLE and the exact cut that I want anyway - and an educator will be there to make sure everything is perfect before I leave, so why not take advantage of the free cut, right?!

My question to you is this: in this type of situation, is a tip still expected/appreciated? Or because it's an educational experience, is it not necessary to provide a tip? I'd hate to show up, get through it, and piss the dude off cause I didn't bring any cash with me... So WWAPD? Do you expect a tip when you perform a practice cut on a model?

Is it mad that I'm irrationally mad a friend of mine for saying yesterday he didn't want to take his paternity leave? The men get three months here, and I think that's fabulous! He said he didn't want to take it because its 80% pay and he didn't think he could live on it. His baby isn't due until late July and she takes her 6 months first. I think that's plenty of time to stop buying things ALL the time and save some money. I just find it very selfish. Then again, it could be a symptom of him not quite grasping how his life will change, as is often the case with men before birth.
