All right, damn it. I'm about to lose my mind. WHERE have these jeans been my entire pregnancy?? I swore I looked everywhere for maternity jeans that wouldn't make me feel frumpy or uncomfortable! I'm constantly clutching at nothing to pull up my saggy jeans that have no belt loops or grip on my waist. I'm just....
No. Fucking. WAY!! And NO FAIR!! Why couldn't these be a new thing at the beginning of this pregnancy, not at the end when I don't plan on having anymore babies?! GAH!
@poru Zosia is an awesome name, and I wouldn't care one bit if her NN was supposedly popular. FWIW, I love Damian too.
This! And Zoe is not super popular anyways. Now if you were naming her Grace or Olivia
What's wrong with Grace and Olivia? We happen to be naming our daughter Olivia Grace. And honestly I don't care how popular it is. I think if you like it then name your kid that. The only Olivia that will be important to me is my own.
Strange assessment... Has anyone else ever noticed that younger siblings are usually more attractive than the older ones?
I've seen cases where the reverse is true, or that all the siblings are equally attractive, but more often than not, I usually see it where my original statement is true.
I know a lot of factors can play into this, like what your idea of "attractive" is and things like that, but I'm talking about more obvious cases. Example: my MIL was watching an episode of the Wahlberg family show (forget what it's called), and the oldest brother seemed like he didn't get the better genes the younger two did!
Any input on this? :-?

we told SO's BIL and he said something along the lines of "nice name for a poledancer"
awkward.
Dafuq??? What're you naming her Candy, or Bambi?? Ugh. TP to your BIL.
Actually we were going with either Destiny or Chastity ;] (sorry if anyone is actually naming their daughters that, just the strippers names from HIMYM)
I wasn't even that mad at him when he said it because we've had it picked out since maybe week 10? And it's just perfect to us.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

Well ladies, if we make it all the way we're scheduled for a c-section 4/4/14 at 4:00 pm I'm slightly bummed out, but it's nice to know we have a plan. It won't be my OB delivering me since she will be out of town but I know all the OBs and I feel confident about it. Today she said if peanut was head down she would have been able to put her finger through my cervix and we would be having a baby this week. Thank you lord for making him breech!!
Does anyone else living in earthquake zones often think there are earthquakes since being pregnant? I've looked at the light fixture twice tonight thinking I felt something!!

Has anyone seen the Jim Gaffigan Hot Pockets stand up comedy bit? OMG SO FUNNY. DH and I feel compelled everytime now to sing "death pockets!" anytime Hot Pockets are mentioned.
That being said, this makes me sad cause I love the pepperoni pizza ones in the croissant crust.
I'm not getting into the politics, please don't push, and I did say Quebec was different then the rest of the country so you are right, you might not need 600 hours, but here you do. I was responding to a comment about getting 100% guaranteed pay for a year which is not true for many Canadians. Not sure why you need to to try and prove me wrong. I would LOVE to have been able to take time off when I was sick so that I didn't have to worry about getting my hours in, but that wasn't the case, and have a ton of friends who have to go back earlier way then a year to afford to live because for many people 55% of a paycheck isn't enough to support a family on. It's just not the truth that because you are in Canada you get full pay for a year no matter what.
I do agree that no paid time off or 6 weeks in the states is BS...(and then having to pay hospital bills on top of that! I have no idea how people afford to have kids!)
Uh, I'm not 'pushing', and I'm not 'trying to prove you wrong'. You brought it up, not me. If you don't want to discuss it then don't mention it in the first place...you've made comments before about 'glad to know that's where my tax dollars go' in reference to Québec's maternity leave so I was interested in having you elaborate on that point. Guess you don't want to.
I'm in Ontario, not Québec...so I was saying that it may vary between provinces. Either way, we're lucky to have what we do. And for the record, we ALL pay handsomely into these benefits throughout our lives in taxes...including the Québécois.
Hi! Lurker from Quebec here Just wanted to jump in on this discussion because we don't actually get full pay in Quebec. It is possible to receive lower benefits for a longer period or higher benefits for a shorter period. However, neither of these plans include full coverage.
ETA Don't get me wrong, I still think our plan is great!
I think it depends on your definition of "more attractive"? My sister and I are 14 months apart, and share a couple facial features but are very different looking. It's kind of like the differences between Emily and Zooey Deschanel--we've been told that I am "prettier" in the classical sense, but my sister is more "attractive" in that she has bigger eyes and sharper angles to her face. Either way, it's weird when people try to compare you to your sibling.
Funnily enough, we both ended up with men who have similar features to ourselves--sister married someone tall and lanky, I married someone with a baby face
We are friends on Facebook so you can decide for yourself who is more attractive? She is in most of my wedding photos, obvi.

In our family, the opposite is true. DH is ridiculously hot, and BIL is pretty meh.
DH and I are both the babies of the family, so I will go along with this theory . My DH really is the best looking in his family by far. Between me and my sisters, I don't know. Here we all are, the one all the way to the left doesn't count for this theory since she's adopted. I'd probably say my sister all the way to the right is the prettiest of us and she's the middle child.
This happened on the way back to the office. It wasn't even my idea (one of the engineers decided we had to stop) but there was no way I was passing it up since we were stopping anyway!
My sisters are traveling here (506 hours away) on Friday to give me a shower on Saturday morning. Now they are forecasting blizzard conditions here on Thursday and still windy on Friday. I am crossing fingers hard that the storm doesn't linger and they can get here safely on Friday. I swear that I can predict winter storms based on whether I am going out of town or having OOT visitors coming here. It's almost clockwork.
506 hours!? I hope you mean miles. :-O Either way, I hope your sisters get there safely and on time.
I meant 5 to 6 hours. I forget that mobile bumping is weird about symbols.

Only four people have felt my baby move so far, because baby is still very "right place, right time" about kicks: my husband, my sister, a former high school student, and now my hair dresser.
Yesterday I got my hair did (FINALLY! I was so overdue, and a freaking scarecrow!) and she was asking how I was feeling. I was telling her about ALL THE KICKS when baby started moving. I was like, "You want to feel?" She was like, "Sure!" So I put her hand on my tummy and baby obliged with a teeny-tiny little roll.
She went nuts! "Wow! That was such a big kick! That's so, so cool! I can see what you mean, your baby is so strong! That must be so hard to deal with!" I was like, oh, honey. If that's a big kick you're in for a surprise when you have a baby.

My baby does the same thing - my abdomen gets beat to hell, but as soon as I put DH's hand on it, she's like "meh. not happening." And I've been trying to get the huge abdomen-shifting movements on video, but every time I hit the record button on my phone, it stops. THEY KNOW.
MEH!!!

@Stace0616@Tferr02 That was one of the factors I was thinking of that I didn't mention. It's hard to compare when the siblings are very different-looking!
ETA: And maybe I just don't pay attention enough. It's probably all in my head and there isn't actually a pattern. :P

I am so nervous for our ultrasound this afternoon! We are going to see if LO is growing and how her kidney function is doing since she is missing one. I'm also hoping they do a 3D of her face so we can see what her cleft lip looks like. Wish me luck that they don't find anything else wrong with our little girl!!
