    So I'm about to get in bed and I suddenly remember that last night when DH came to bed he turned on his headlamp ( :) )to read. I woke up (super foggy) and was nearly in tears and panic mode because I couldn't roll over. DH had to help me and calm me down. Bah!!! I'm Hoping to avoid a repeat tonight.

    My roommate did this in December. She told her boyfriend "I am god" told the emts "I'm in labor, I'm having a baby today" (bitch trying to steal my thunder) and when the cop told her he would have to handcuff her if she wouldn't leave peacefully "you can't touch me, I'm the president of the United States"

    There were a lot of other things, mix of mental breakdown and uppers as far as I know. Was building up for weeks.

    DS1 has had an up and down fever for the past few days so I finally took us both to the Doctor today. He has a double ear infection and I have bronchitis. Awesome. The worst part is that since I can't take him to daycare, I've been watching him all day and then working crazy hours at night instead of extra sleeping. I hope he gets better soon :(

    My sisters are traveling here (506 hours away) on Friday to give me a shower on Saturday morning.  Now they are forecasting blizzard conditions here on Thursday and still windy on Friday. I am crossing fingers hard that the storm doesn't linger and they can get here safely on Friday.  I swear that I can predict winter storms based on whether I am going out of town or having OOT visitors coming here.  It's almost clockwork.

    Ughhh DS woke up at 6am drenched in pee. I hate diapers! He normally wakes up about 7:30-8, so this will be a long morning. He's always worn huggies but he started getting a rash from them so we tried pampers but still a rash. We then bought some Luvs and cloth diapers. He wears the cloth during the day now with no rash and we are doing Luvs at night but he is peeing through them like he has no diaper on!! The worst part, I was actually sleeping pretty good.

    I'm going to be half paid for 12 weeks. But that's because of a combination of things. My company uses short term disability for the entire time so that's where the paycheck comes from. And the dr said he wouldn't release me back to work for 12 weeks. But he's been really good about not only my physical health but my mental health. I about broke down in tears in his office one day overwhelmed with being a new parent. I honestly think he feels bad for me so he's willing to sign off for longer.

    If that perfect storm hadn't have happened I'd only be able to take 6 weeks.

    @aronie82 I know I am totally lucky. I didn't have a regular ob before this and somewhat stumbled on this guy accidentally. He really has been great, includes DH at every appt, calming us down when panic and answering every question no matter how silly. And I'm lucky my job is so kind too. Std is something they've always done. They've even covered breast pumps 100% before it was mandatory. I totally lucked out.

    I'll add that I wouldn't be able to do the whole 12 weeks if it wasn't for the fact that we've been able to save a ton. That was a huge factor in our decision. Plus I'm not the bread winner in our family so a lot of our income will still be coming in.

    This makes me so angry! I don't understand why there isn't more of an uproar about this.

    I am somewhat "lucky" because I will get 6 weeks partially paid by short term disability. DH and I trying to figure out what we're going to do about the other 6 weeks that I won't be getting paid. He was laid off and unemployment is running out in a few weeks, so we're hoping he'll find something before baby gets here....

    And that's only if you work for a big company with 50 or more employees. You work for a small business? Your not guarenteed shit.
    Yep, if I had stayed at my last job, I could've taken 30 days of unpaid personal leave (including weekends even though they were closed), but if I took even one more day than that, the system would have automatically booted me out - basically firing me. They would've hired me back of course, but the whole rehiring process would've been a pain.

    I took today off to have a home day without the kids to relax and rest. We got a flat tire, and DH headed to work with a coworker and had to leave the kids. Now I'm bribing them with smarties and tv so I can just lay around.

    Also, anyone else totally lost their appetite? I can't eat anything without feeling nauseous and even the thought of desserts and cake makes me queasy. Saaaad preggo. I basically ate a piece of pb toast all day yesterday.

    Ugh, how frustrating! I don't see how they won't be able to comply if grandparents are the only ones coming to the hospital though. I would just send a quick text with the stats and sneak peek picture whenever you're ready, then immediately post something on FB to beat them to the punch.

    I'm hoping I won't go through this problem with my side of the family. My husband's side already went through this last year when my BIL and his wife had their son, so they know the routine. But I can see having some stubbornness and defiance from my side of the family on this. :-w

    Just about every morning for my ketone testing. *facedesk*  At this rate I need to pee in a damn mixing bowl or something, lol.


    With my luck, I'd be the one where the pee would hit the bowl and go swooshing up and over the side, like when you turn the kitchen faucet on super high into an empty bowl.
