Omg Tuesday is officially worse than Monday. DH got all the ice off the roof then I found water dripping in the pantry coming through the door frame!? What the actual fuck? Our tax return usually goes right to savings, looks like this year it's going to a contractor.
Would your insurance not cover this at all? I guess every policy is different but we had a leaky basement at our old house and everything was covered. Hugs to you!
I don't know. Our deductible is probably more than what it would cost to fix. Lucky for us our neighbor flips houses and works with a contractor, she said he owes her a favor and she's going to use it on us! He will do it for the cost of products! Her ex is a roofer and we're good friends with him too so he's on his way to look at it now.

Thank god for the good people in the world!
So glad to hear that! You do not need more stress right now!
I wen to BRU and bought a few things for the baby. I'm feeling so much more prepared now and beginning to get really excited for his arrival! The only thing we really need is his stroller and car seat.
Speaking of strollers.. I was looking at the different ones they had to offer and I can't figure out why everyone is so gaga over the Britax b-agile stroller?? Am I missing something? The basket is small, you have to buy a separate organizer. I played around with the Graco Modes stroller and wow, I'm so impressed with that one!
I believe health insurance should cover nursing bras.... healthy happy boobs means good milk production! What I am going to pay for three new bras covers my car insurance for almost 3 months.
I was reading the stupid questions thread and there was a post that reminded me about the milk-drunk bliss face after a nursing session and d'AWW I just can't wait to see that again.

I thought it was one of the easiest ones to maneuver around. But it does suck to have to buy a separate organizer.
I think a couple weeks pp is when things sort of regulate and settle in and you stay that size a while. I think I wore mostly sports bras or just bravado tanks the first couple weeks because they can accommodate more of a range in size. I'm sure there was some initial boob spillage until I got properly sized. Just make sure your bra fits on the loosest setting when you buy it so you can tighten it as your ribs and body shrink back down.

I never use the basket nor would I want an organizer, so maybe that's why I love it? I wanted something very simple and light that was easy to push. I also wanted something that my car seat (britax) would snap into.
@ColleenSwerb I have seen others say hold off on buying nursing bras before your milk comes in. What should I buy for the interim? Nursing tanks to wear in the hospital and at home and then invest in good bras once I know my size?
I got medela nursing bras because each size s,m,l covers a range of bra sizes- cups and bands. I made sure to get one where the size I am now will fit and will potentially still fit if I go up a cup. I got one overnight one and one daytime one from BRU. If I hate them I can get something else, but I actually never got a nursing bra or tank or any nursing apparel for DD and managed just fine.
Meh.. Just from my experience, the bigger the basket the better and an organizer is a must. I mean, where else am I going to sit my coffee, cell phone and keys?!
Re: nursing bras - are wireless recommended for the beginning? A friend was telling me that the wires on the sides can hinder milk production?
Wireless is recommended the entire time. Wire bras can clog your ducts and plus, they're not as comfortable. I got a wireless bra from target the other day and it is sooo comfortable, but still has good support. It has the wires on the sides but I'm not too worried since it's not squeezing me too hard.
Re: nursing bras - are wireless recommended for the beginning? A friend was telling me that the wires on the sides can hinder milk production?
I would think that a properly fitting one wouldn't cause an issue because the wire sits on your rib cage and shouldn't press to hard into the sides of your breast. Being very large boobed I can't wear a bra that is wireless, I would have boobs down to my knees and my back would hurt. I used wired nursing bras while nursing both my kids and never had problems that could be linked backed to the wire.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~

What one did you buy? I'm having a hard time finding a wireless one that I like and is supportive.
Both types of medela ones I got are wireless.
I've never heard you should only get wireless, but IMO it's much more comfortable especially while laying down.
Home from work, about to indulge in a nap, and can't wait for my massage appt in the morning.. Which my boss decided to pick up the tab for! Now if my DH comes home in a decent mood and decides to make up for losing his mind lastnight all will be right in my world.

In the sun visor creases of course! well not the coffee, I don't drink coffee so that was a nonissue.
I scored a g&o nursing bra from target this weekend for $9.19, but now I'm second guessing sizing and whatnot why is everything so complicated?
I got one a g&o nursing bra this weekend too and had to take it back. I bought my normal size and it was too small and felt cheap. It was an underwire type. I needed more support.
I have this non underwire by Le Mysterie and it has good support and comes in a large range of sizes. Anita makes them too, here's one. Hot Milk (ugh at the name) has them but I never found one that worked for me.
I think Bravado makes them too but I haven't tried them.
e: I think I quoted the wrong person. Whoever was asking about wireless nursing bras.
DD has been practicing her heart-melting skills. I have this small photo album (one picture per page sort of thing) that I keep in her room, just with pictures from when she was in NICU. She likes going through and finding the pictures with me and DH in them. :x

@mamamonzo I just came home to a leaky house too. Checked outside and there is a huge amount of ice on the outside of the house, melting. Hope it's just a little overload from all the snow and ice melting.
I think you are in MI too? I'm preparing for snow melt flooding!
I'm from SE MI and thought we were having snow issues. Then I moved to W MI and holy crap! It's like the stuff here doesn't melt, just keeps getting piled up higher and higher. I can't even comprehend what it will be like when it all melts.

@Jellysparkles I was wondering if it had something to do with being right up in Lake Michigan's grill!
@honeyzoo No kidding! It is pretty bad. I remember a few years ago (maybe 2 or 3? time escapes me now) our winter in the Ann Arbor area of SE MI consisted of maybe 3 separate days of light snow that all melted within a day or two.

Last year GR was flooded! We declared city Emeregncy our bridges over rivers were almost covered. It was scary. I'm so scared to see what's going to happen this year. Le sigh
Have you tried taking the supplement with orange juice? Citrus/Vitamin C can help you absorb the iron better. It'll usually take a few weeks to see it rebound if you weren't taking iron before.
DH accidentally made a "ohh" sound out loud when I got on the scale at the Dr today.. Soooooo he's taking me to fondu tonight. I was quite literally in a glass case of emotion after that. [-(
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
I was just looking at the floor plan of my new apartment. The master bedroom is smaller than what will be the baby's room. What kind of jacked up world do we live in?? Unacceptable.
Edit - oh, and "first world problems"
That's how this apartment is! We made the "master bedroom" DD's room.
