  I'm experiencing some Braxton Hicks contractions tonight. They are pretty intense but far apart and irregular. I'm hoping everything settles down soon.

  I'm not having a shower either, but, we are throwing just a random (like, no mention of baby in the invites) party to have people over and hang out. You better believe I'm going to get cupcakes with some sort of baby theme.

  I'm awake right now because DH has a brilliant idea to set his alarm at 3:30 because he enjoys being woken up and then realizing he still has an hour of sleep left, so he goes back to sleep until his real alarm goes off at 4:30. I, however, get woken up at 3:30 and can't go back to sleep most mornings. I've explained this to him but he has yet to give up the stupid alarm.. :-w

  One of the women I work with is due with her second LO March 8, and her two year old DD was just admitted to the children's hospital here in town for testing and observation; apparently she hasn't been feeling well for some time.   Holy shit, we got slammed with snow. Woohoo! Snow day! Of course DH works for police so he never gets a break though

  @snmetz7 yup I am drenched in sweat all the time when I wake up. One of the reasons my DH moved out of our bedroom this pregnancy, he couldn't handle my night sweats and my restlessness.
  
  So my DS has this horrible cold and this morning at 3am I woke up with a runny nose and now I'm sneezing a lot. I cannot handle another cold this pregnancy!!!

  Tell your DH that is the dumbest idea I have ever heard.  I would change his alarm setting after he goes to sleep

  Our silly pretend snow has given DH the day off two days in a row! It's like the weather knows its the week of our anniversary and we are celebrating with all the bad food and snuggles.

  I hate that when I'm stressed the only thing I want to do is eat....I am completely stressed out today and I'm afraid that I might just eat every single food item in the house.

  Just got my bridesmaids dress for a wedding I'm in in three weeks...  I seriously think she hates us all-I don't think it could possibly be worse if she tried.  And to top it off, there is a slit up the side that is to my thigh...  Um, what?  I'm about to be a MOTHER.

I already told DH we are not calling his Mom because she would contact us every hour on the hour and I'm sure blast it all over FB which I do not want. My mom is going to be with me only because I want her there to give DH a break or whatever. If I didn't want her there I'd say no.

  So, one of my coworkers was just telling me that babies need to sit up to sleep for the first two months. She recommended I put the car seat in my closet and have our newborn daughter sleep there... :-/ No thanks, crazy lady. Where do people get these ideas?

  My mom has a really hard time with boundaries and a propensity to hysterics... I've told her no, but that doesn't mean I didn't dread it. Sometimes, I just want to put off the inevitable shitstorm setting a boundary with her will set off. These days I'm too effing tired to be up for the drama.

  I don't understand this either and some if the other parenting advice weirds me out. Luckily my mother is a child development specialist who doesn't volunteer information/advice unless I ask. I usually just refer to her if I need to confirm something.

  Do you have to get the person that hosts the shower a thank you gift? And excatly what kind of gift do you give? Sorry never even been to a baby shower before!
