Looking at old pictures of DD makes me want ALL THE BABIES. Someone please remind me that this is not feasible because a.) DH and I are "two and through" and b.) I enjoy sleep. But seriously, SQUISHY LITTLE BABY FACE I JUST CAN'T EVEN.
That smile and those eyes! I die! You make cute kiddos, Blue.

Baby Girl Born: April 2014 If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, I will answer you:
The cat decided that just now was the best time to attempt to puke on the floor of our bedroom... That damned noise never fails to wake me up - it's like a direct line to my brain and the 'oh shit' button. There was no way I could get up quickly to throw him onto the bathroom tile, so luckily it was a misfire, but now I'm wide awake.
At least the cat is an equal opportunity butt head - he climbed into bed and proceeded to poke DH in the face and woke him up for a few minutes.
Can't sleep either. Just woke up after falling asleep about four hours ago and now everything is uncomfortable and achey. Plus my knees are hurting like growing pains. :-/

HOLY GOD THAT IS THE CUTEST BABY GIRL I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE HISTORY OF EVAR!!
I have a midwife appointment today, and we always giggle a bit because of how she says blood pressure. She says blood like it rhymes with food. Very cute, actually. Then I started thinking about it. Words with 'oo' vowels make no sense in pronunciation. Food, wood, hood, blood, woo?! No wonder she says it so cute :-) I mean, why wouldn't blood rhyme with food?
My DS woke up so much sicker and everything is closed down for this winter storm in NC. His pediatrician office, the walk in clinics, everything. Our only option is ER and he's not bad enough for that. He has a really bad cough and his eyes and nose are running like crazy. I feel so bad for him. I worry because whenever he gets a cold, it always gets really bad and gets in his lungs. Any ideas on how to help a 2 year old feel better? He's to young for any good meds I think?

Steam? Can you steam up the bathroom and sit in there with him? I know that used to help me a lot when I would get croup. It brings a lot of relief.
ETA Also, shouldn't the "after hours" line still be open to call the doctor on call even if the office isn't open. Maybe they could tell you which medicines would work?
DH keeps feeding me rice crispy treats, like he's made me 2 pans in the last 3 days...What's his motive :-?
I desperately want Rice Krispie squares now. Someone should open a restaurant that JUST caters to a pregnant woman's cravings AND delivers. They would make a fortune.

Ugh I know! Luckily we have hardwood floors but at night it goes something like this...
*hack hack*
Me "oh shit, please don't be on the bed."
*hack hack*
Me: "oh no."
*hack hack puke*
Me: "Hooray..."

EPIC WIN! I was thinking of Rice Krispie squares, but the sickness in my house was preventing me from Going out and buying the stuff needed. Anyways I pulled out the mold my mil had bought me one Christmas for them, and voila! Ingredients were IN IT! Now we're making Rice Krispies in the shape of Christmas trains. Yayyyy

Thanks for the ideas! He sat in the bathroom with daddy, I went to walmart and got some hyland cough syrup? It says natural relief for 2 and up so maybe it will give him some relief. We have the humidifier in his room and saline. I just hate hearing him cough like this.

That's totally my train of thought too! Followed by grumbling while cleaning the carpet at 3am...
Thankfully 99 out of 100 times the cats will move to the floor when they have to puke. The trick is trying to find the source of the noise before the puke happens, and then grabbing them and shoving them onto a hard surface floor.
One of them has only ever puked on the bed once, but I have no idea which one it was - they did it over the weekend while we were out of town, and DH and I came home to a massive stream of dried kitty gak all over the bed... :-&
So I have been going to La Leche League meetings just to get exposure to BFing and such. Yesterday they were discussing support and relationships, I realized I have no one in my family or friends who've BF'd recently. Hell I do not have close friends who have had children suddenly I'm terrified I don't have a support system .

@embear22 Here's two smushy fluffy kitties for you to look at. Our dog had never been around cats (as far as we know) when we rescued him last April, and you can see from the one photo they do just fine together. It's actually more a function of how the cat does with the dog in my experience - the dog can be taught (for the most part)!
@Serenla I was in a similar situation with my first. My husband ended up being my biggest supporter just because he was there through all my struggles and encouraged me to keep going.

Ugh. I just heard one of my cats throw up. Surely she/he did this on carpet, because barfing on wood floor makes no sense to animals I hope the perpetrator eats it before I get up to check.
I'm sorry! We cursed you with all of the cat puking discussions!

@mamamonzo do you get to eat the cake at the end? If so, I'm crashing your party!
They aren't going to stop me! Chances are the cake/frosting won't make it through the whole class. I'm going to be the girl that raises her hand "excuse me I uhhhh messed up can I get a new cake" when really messed up means I ate it before I was finished!

I'm hoping that DH will be the best as well. I'm just worriedthat he might cave when Finn is screaming and we can't get a good latch for the millionth time .

Totally understand. You will probably have moments like that, I know I did...I think its great that you are already getting in with a LLL group I never even did that with my first or second...but I might with this one, even though I've done this twice already I know I will still face challenges.

Good morning! Saw this titled "why hire a pro?"
Thought if this because SO asked me if @bluebird2318 s picture was professionally done because she looks so perfect!!!
@sking72 I saw that picture on FB yesterday and started cracking up!
That particular picture I posted of DD I took myself. I just got really lucky with a cooperative baby that day.

Oh man, I am sitting at my desk at work feeling like I am suffocating. I don't know if it's the way baby's positioned, but I just can't breathe. I want to rip all my clothes off and lay down on the floor--but I'm not sure that's acceptable in my workplace. Any tips, ladies? Dying over here. And feeling like a drama queen, too, I suppose.

Marshmallows don't work well after sitting in a cupboard for two years. Now my kids are sad, and I'm mad haha.

I don't even see a bump. I really want to lean over to her and tell her to enjoy because it gets worse! I hope I wasn't like tht in the beginning.
Thought this was cute. Letter to the SAHM from a working mom, and a letter to the WM from a SAHM.
