Speaking of freezer meals, have any of you done Wildtree? My friend is having a party next Sunday and I'm going but just wondering if it is worth it.

Never heard of it! I will have to do some research.

When my mom comes to visit we are going to do crock pot meals in bags to freeze.

  • I'm not sure what's gotten into hubby.  He's out in the kitchen making some sort of elaborate meal he found in a cookbook.  Did someone swap him out while I was napping?

    Awesome!

Awww I am sure you look absolutely fantastic!

I feel like such an adult, my new washer came this morning.  One that I actually bought and was not given or rented.  And is paid in full already.  This is exciting to me.  Clearly I am easily entertained/excited.
I get excited about that stuff, too.   I was so sad when I found out the house we're trying to buy has a gas dryer hookup because we just got a new fancy matching set less than 2 years ago and our dryer is electric.

My first visit to a chiropractor and I'm starting out not very impressed. The receptionist is coughing all over. She also talks very fast. She reminds me of a coke head I once knew. Then this chick with greasy hair hops on the table and sits Indian style to interview me.

That's... Odd. And not at all how my chiropractic visits go.
Yeah mine are very clean, clinical and not at all like that!

Does that mean you can't use your electric one? It would never even occur to me to think of that.
Sadly, yes, because it's got a special plug so it doesn't work in a regular outlet.  The house comes with the non-matching, less nice machines that are currently in it so I have to decide whether I want to break up my matching set and use the dryer that's in the house, or pay an electrician to put in the appropriate outlet.

I totally just nostril flare/Elvis-lip scowled reading this post. Sounds like you need to try a different office...they can't all be like that, right??

@mamamonzo your "friend" is ridiculous. Needy wtf? I wouldn't think it was needy at all never mind the fact your also having contractions and having his support is needed. Douche.

Well, you know, it'd be super weird and slightly needy for him to attend the birth... so. Yeah.

This is why I'm in love with you, Jelly

  • I can't function after I drink coffee :(
  • I need to make some frozen meals next month. Our freezer is JAMMED right now. I really want a stand up deep freezer.
Do you have some tried and true recipes? My Mom gave us a giant stand up freezer and I would love to fill it with freezer meals for after baby arrives, but I'm scared.

I sucked it up and booked a prenatal massage at a spa (instead of my cheapy membership place that cancelled on me yesterday). I am now sitting in a lounge in a fluffy robe drinking warm tea and eating a freshly baked antioxidant cookie. They even gave me a discount for it being my birthday week and found a prenatal therapist available to shift his schedule for me. A girl could easily get used to this luxury.
That sounds like HEAVEN. I want that. I NEED that.

Oh man, that stinks! I'd have the outlet put in if I just bought an awesome set! Then, a million years down the road if my dryer crapped out again and I had to get a new one, I don't have to be pigeon-holed into looking for either a gas or electric only one, since I'd have both hook-ups at my disposal! Is that something you can do - put the outlet in, but keep the gas hook-up in case you need it later?

  • So last sat night I was supposed to surprise DH with dinner at his fav steakhouse. He was sick so we didn't go. We rescheduled for tonight and now apparently DSD is sick (we get her back on sat evenings). Wtf?!? I've been so looking forward to a date night and now it looks like our plans are cancelled two weeks in a row. The last thing I want is the pukey bug in my house. Ugh!!!!!
  • I can't function after I drink coffee :(
Is it the caffeine?? I can't drink caffeinated coffee cause it makes me shake like a crack addict. Try drinking decaf or half-caf if you're like me and like the taste of coffee but can't do the caffeine. Honestly, I think I've worked my way to a point where the smell/taste/act of drinking the coffee is what perks me up. :)

If it's cause of the laxative effect, then I got nothing. ;)

----- Usually to do something like that it's a matter of having enough power run to that part of the house. We can't switch to electric power in the room we'd put a washer/dryer without tearing up the kitchen floor to run higher power to that end of the house. /butting in
YIKES! I never would've thought of that. That sounds complicated and expensive. (And you're more than welcome to butt in. ;)

The caffeine overload gives me intense amounts of anxiety. I really need to remember to order decaf. I only drink it if we run through Starbucks or something, which is only once in a great while. I forget how bad it makes me feel.

That's kindof what I'm thinking, as long as the outlet won't cost too much to put in.  I'd pay a couple hundred, I suppose.  The breaker box is almost directly below where the dryer is so hopefully it would be an easy job.

Edit: to trim ridiculous quote tree...
  • @deidremaria: I posted asking A14 for advice about nursery decorating and got some great advice. I linked to the post in "nurseries and baby gear", and apparently I was supposed to just re-post the whole post, so readers don't have to click the link?

Amount of time to leave snarky post is shorter than the amount of time needed to click link to new post?
Oh my. I can't deal with some of the people on these boards

I think we would need to run a new line to the laundry room, but it's almost directly above the breaker box so I'm hoping that would make it not too difficult to do.  But I'm no electrician so for all I know it could mean tearing out the walls.
  • BIRL he's awesome! Well hey, if your water breaks on the 15th you may have baby on the 16th or 17th lol

WTH. I just wrapped a gift for my own shower. I am really greatful to the senders, but they are attending the shower and shipped the gift to me. I was then instructed to schlep it to and from the shower, and it wasn't shipped wrapped. Strange.
I would find that strange, too.  If they're going...why did they ship the gift to you in the first place?
  • OMG. We have two cats and a dog and just moved into a new apartment last week. Since then we've been finding little poop piles around the apartment on occasion. We were blaming it on the dog since we had a bit of an issue completely potty training him in the past. It turns out it was one of the cats (she is a massive cat and he is a small dog which is why there is room for confusion). Now I feel bad for scolding the dog over something he didn't do. :(
