Are there any cheaper electric pumps that work just as well as a medella? I would prefer one but I can justify spending that much money on a pump when I plan to SAH so I'm looking at something cheaper. The ameda purely yours is on sale at target right now for $179 and then I get a $50 gift card. The medella is on sale for $250 and I would get a $50 card back. Should I just get the medella?

The other pregnant chick in the office goes on maternity leave on Monday.
We were awkwardly chatting today and it was very apparent that she's done ZERO research about the birth process. None. I worry for her.... And as much as I can't stand her, I told her to please email me if she wants help finding resources....

This is how I feel about half of the people I meet IRL. It seems very common to just get pregnant and shit out babies without wanting to know anything about either!

Great. My aunts are throwing me a small family shower tomorrow, and I just found out two of my aunts are in a really bad fight. Now, we're the type of family that doesn't like to make our problems public, but I also know my aunts are really bitter. Oh well, still hoping for a good time.

Feeling really down today. Trying to figure out life in general after the baby is born. Going back to my current job, or starting over doing something else. I feel kind of lost. I feel like junk too. today seems like the type of day to just curl up in a nest and cry for a while.

Had an awesome on appt today! I was a little nervous after our birthing classes that I wasn't going to be able get the birth I wanted. Well my doctor cleared up all the rumors I heard and assured me I'd be able to do everything I want!

He did mention he won't let me go more than 7 days past my due date. But that's something I'm willing to compromise on.

I am working from home today and ran downstairs to take a break. I grabbed a bag of Doritos to snack on and DH made a comment to the effect of "don't eat all of the chips, blah blah blah.".... Is it bad that now, even though I'm full, I'm trying to finish the bag just to spite DH?

@dani+California I just simply told my dr I need a prescription for a ready pump and she said okay and wrote one for me. My insurance actually doesn't require me to have a prescription but the place I'm ordering from does.

I had a prescription for mine! My ob had a stamp to fill it out so clearly they get asked that question a lot! There were no issues at all!

) I know it's probably impossible to predict when your dog is going to fart while simultaneously walking up the stairs in order for the occurrence to happen, but please.. PLEASE try to get this on video some time and share it with us.

@Mamamonzo, I hear you. The thought of going back to my current job after this baby makes me want to scream but my city has a perpetually crappy job climate so I probably will have to. Grrr. I know that lost feeling all too well!

It shouldn't make you vomit since you're leaning forward - you're basically pouring saline up one nostril, over your septum, and out the other nostril...as long as you keep a forward tilt, it won't run down the back of your throat and it won't make you gag.
