Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • @kcp913 Yeah it wasn't fun. The roads are terrible from the snow, and luckily we were in my SUV. I actually watched the car pull up to the stoplight behind me and thought "they're not going to stop." I felt worse for the girl driving the Beatle that hit us. Her bumper got the worst end of it since she slid under ours and hit the hitch. Damn hormones made me cry cause it startled me so bad!

The past few winters have been pretty tame here in MI with maybe one big storm. I can't remember the last 'white Christmas' we had before this year. This winter totally BLOWS balls. DH's car is stuck in the driveway. I want breakfast and a pedicure... He better get this shit figured out. Winter makes me crabby! @snmetz7 I'm moving to TX!!
In all my years of living here in the mitten, I can't remember a winter as snowy as this one.

  • Guess who got rear ended on the way to our Labor and Delivery class? This guy! We're all Ok, just got the crap scared out of us. At least we have a good excuse to be late now!
Funny story. I was pregnant with our first, and we had just left the hospital after having a NST done, DH was following me home and apparently not paying attention, he slammed right into the back of my car. Hard enough that we had a lot of damage to both cars and then I ended up spending that night in the hospital because I was having contractions.

  • Where is the nesting instinct y'all speak of? I feel like I should be do something to prepare for baby but I'm not. I've gotten a few items and some clothing yet it's all stashed away in the bassinet which is covered by a blanket hiding in the corner. I sit around all day and cuddle with my four legged love instead of doing something productive.
  • Vent: I am really starting to get tired of being pregnant right now.  I'm glad I can still do stuff with friends, but my limitations are annoying me.  Case in point, friend is having a get together to see the MN Roller Girls game, and both DH and I were invited.  He really wants to go, but I've been super sensitive to noise and crowds lately.  I felt like a bad wife saying no, so I told him he could go.  We are also having apps/dinner with the friend and his GF beforehand which is almost like a compromise?  I get to be social and dress up to spend like 1.5hrs with everyone before they meet up with more people at the game.

Then I get to drive 20 miles home by myself and hang out by myself for the rest of the night.  It just annoys me sometime that DH gets to have all of the fun while I'm just kind of hanging out and gestating.  I try to set up more dinners and house parties for us to go to, but even those get harder the bigger and more tired I get.  I don't want to cut off his social life, but at the same time, it just makes me feel like an outsider at times.  :-/

  • I'm totally bummed today. I'm tired, and coming down with a cold so I feel like a bag of dicks. I've also noticed a major decrease in movement today... I don't know if I'm being paranoid (I usually work all day so am on the go and don't usually notice movements). At what point should I be concerned? I'm being super weepy and I hate worrying.

  • So I have a stupid FTM question... I bought All Free and Clear laundry detergent to begin washing some of LO's clothes. It didn't even occur to me when I was in the store, but should I have also bought Free and Clear fabric softener? Are regular dryer sheets ok? I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, I am quickly becoming aware of how little I know when it comes to babies!!

  • @seattlemomma Order a king cake from this place: https://www.randazzokingcake.com

YUM. I am a Nola girl and this is by far the best king cake EVER.
  • Just organized LO stuff! His closet is ready for him. And while I worked on one small closet, my DH cleaned the rest of the house and started dinner.
  • Ugh, I hate working Saturdays!! It has been dead all day here at the office. I wish I was fixing up the baby's area instead of being here. I have all these things I want to do but am limited when I work 6 days a week. (rant over, thanks for reading :) )

  • Update: DH's friend was running late and just texted to cancel, so they not only made us sit here for 30mins waiting, but I got all dressed up for nothing. So fucking pissed right now!!! DH and I now have about 20mins to eat and get him to the game on time.
  • So DH swore he was going to clean while I was at work today. Family room - still littered in toys and Cheerios. Kitchen - full of dirty dishes. Laundry - in heaps unfolded. He spent all day constructing this, and then cleaned the tub. Not the rest of the bathroom, mind you, just the shower. And he is incredibly proud of himself. I'm not sure if I'm amused, proud, or going to punch him.
That is too funny! I'm not sure I could be mad if my DH did something like that. I'd probably try and hold back the laughter while telling him he better put his fancy new toy to better use next time.

Pets love the Snoogle! I recently got up in the middle of the night to take a bath (because I am pregnant and why not?!), and when I come back to bed our corgi is curled up in my Snoogle. I almost felt bad moving him. Almost. Nothing comes between me and my Snoogle!
