@ImnAtari Got the dresser! It's hulking in our soon-to-be-nursery amid all the holiday storage detritus. I love it! The thing is a beast! The refinishing the seller did is awesome, and so happy he kept the original vintage hardware. Although I may still change them out...have to see what Anthro has by way of drawer pulls. Our first nursery purchase! Now to get the decals off the walls and paint.
I just finished painting the guest bathroom and putting the lights back up. (It only took me something like three months!) DH put the tank of the toilet back on, and vacuumed and steam cleaned the nursery carpet. Now I just need to clean the bathroom and get a few more items installed, then we'll be guest ready again! I'm feeling so productive, and I'm so excited - DH is going to try and get the nursery furniture delivered on Saturday!
Had to go to the ER... Coughing so bad I almost passed out. Midwife said to see primary (which I don't have), urgent care won't see me because of pregnancy. So now here I sit on a breathing treatment trying not to cough. I hate bronchitis... They wanted to make sure it wasn't pneumonia....
Booooo!!! Not a good way to start the NY. I hope you're outta there soon and feel better.
So I have a upper respiratory infection and bronchitis. Antibiotics and inhaler.... yay me.... downside is doc says I need a steroid but can't have it because of baby....

Ok my musing for today... you know how when you're around your close gfs for a while your cycles start to sync up? I think it might be more than that. I think that maybe you are drawn to people who are already close to your cycle. The majority of the people I click with on here are all due within a few days of me (with a few exceptions) and so we were all on the same cycle interesting to think about.
So true!!! That's what I was struggling with when trying to find an LB I'm reading through and most of us had really close due dates lol
So what's it say about me that all the ladies I love are spread throughout the month? Oh yeah, I guess it means I'm in the caboose!

Thanks for the advice last night, ladies! We ended up only going to the big, fun party and having a blast (well, until they cranked the music up after midnight--then it was time to go). DH was miffed that I didn't want to go to flirty girl's party, and I only used the tired, pregnant lady excuse. But he then checked his messages and found that she had only emailed him hoping he'd make it.
He apologized for thinking I was being jealous for no reason and says that he can see a lot of red flags with this girl. He doesn't know how to behave around her at parties without her getting the wrong idea, and I don't know what to tell him. I don't even know that she wants in his pants, it could just be that she hates me? Ugh.

I feel so behind the curve with all you go getters accomplishing stuff! We are waiting till after the shower to buy anything and it's not till Feb so We basically have nothing but a bottle, a couple of outfits and the items my awesome secret santa @mamamonzo got us! Ugh. Panic just might be setting in with the whole date change thing! Crap! It's 2014!

We are waiting till after the shower too, ours is in less than three weeks and I'm kinda freaking out. The only thing we've done is buy the paint for the nursery. :-SS
We are doing no-spend January and it's already killing me on day 1. We took DS to play at the mall play area this morning and I was dying for some froyo. It's going to be a loooooooonnnggg month.
I just want to say that I love this month's siggy challenge @BiggerinRealLife I love how many people are participating and you all have great taste in movies!! :x
JessieAlbin Hoping Benadryl helps... on the way out one of the nurses said to rub vicks on the bottom of my feet and put on some cozy socks...She suffers from bronchitis as well. I'm not so sure of that little trick due to the menthol but will definitely ask ob tomorrow! Usually 3 or 4 days into my inhaler it will ease up. I hate losing my lunch or dinner from coughing so hard

This is me. I feel very panicked because my shower isn't until the end of March! Ahh! I'm also panicked because all of the baby clearance right now. I'd hate to buy it and then recieve it as a gift but would be irritated if I didn't get it as a gift and ended up paying full price/missing the clearance sale.
Do LB's get each other gifts?? Like once LO is here send a nice little pick me up or before LO comes a little hospital essential?
I thought about this since I didn't participate in the Secret Santa onesie exchange and I missed out on spoiling someone. I definitely wanna send my LB something
I have had the past 12 days off for Christmas vacation, but I'm still ridiculously excited that school is cancelled tomorrow and Friday due to the incoming snow storm. Let it snow!

Same here! Luckily I'll be saving on shipping, as I just found out my LB lives in the same area as me!

@JessieAlbin@irisheyez7 We're in the same boat. I mean, we're trying to get the big stuff bought and the room painted, (dresser check! Crib this week and cozy chair in Feb) but other than that I'll be waiting for the shower. Mine look like they're going to be in February and I know my family and church to be super generous, so I don't want to get anything until after and see what we still need. But I don't expect anyone to buy me furniture, so I'm trying to get that and decorating done at least.

I was thinking about gifts for lb earlier too. i think it'd be nice but def not required.
as for the buying, we were gifted the crib for christmas and we bought a armoire since there is no closet in the room we are using (will be here monday!) but everything else we are waiting until the shower (just a month from today!) but its hard to not just go out and get everything!!

It's hard not to want to buy so much of the baby clearance items at Target! I did buy a cute little stuffed giraffe that plays music. There is one blanket I really want at Target and don't want to wait to see if I get it for my shower so I am going to buy it myself. Which brings me to...@fireflygirl12 I would also have a really hard time with no spend January. Good for you and your DH, I think that's awesome.

@LoriMc12 I know! So much clearance. My target has a crib for $90. It's not really a stellar deal by any means since it's only $40 off the original price. It's not the crib style I want but I'm gonna get it anyways since it'll do the trick for the first few years. I'd rather have that one than none at all!
Ok, I'm crazy, I know. But I've wanted this pillow for the nursery for months and it always goes out of stock super quickly. But I looked today and there was one left! So I snatched it up! DOn't know why I'm crazy excited over a simple little pillow, but I am. It's the little things, really.

Alright, next philosophical question for the A14 ladies: DH and I really want it to be just the three of us when the baby is born. (This should be easy, no one lives close). However I tend to stress very easily and I'm worried about 3,000 text msgs from everyone if we say "going to the hospital!" And trying to keep everyone updated. Are we terrible people if we wait until after she is born to say anything?
(This is part of the reason I think I'm opting out of a labor buddy, I would be terrible at updating her! Either I'll post something or have DH post for me after the fact)
Eta: can you tell DH and I finally figured out this is real and she really will be coming in April?!?!

Wait until after if you don't think your family will give you the space you need. I knew my parents would be patient and just wait to hear from us after letting them know I was in labor, but I didn't tell my grandparents until after because they don't respect boundaries.

We told my parents, DH's parents (out of state) and a few close friends when we were headed to the hospital. Nobody else knew until after the FB update the next morning. I think it's fine to not tell everybody you are headed to the hospital, especially since you could end up being there forever before the baby is born.
It's the nesting that makes you crazy to buy and have everything ASAP, but it'll really be ok to wait. My shower wasn't until 36 weeks, and I wound up induced at 37 - and it was still ok! We had the crib/furniture set up before then, and car seat, but we held off on a lot of smaller things for the shower, and it was still ok. Every time I'd panic and want desperately to shop, DH would remind me we had amazon prime and promise if I had the baby early, we'd order everything from the hospital room and it'd all be delivered by the time we got home. I'd make lists on amazon so I was ready!
I'm kind of waiting for the crazy to hit this time. Or does it not happen with a repeat pregnancy? We're getting DS's big boy room ready, so maybe that's scratching the nesting itch?
YAY for Amazon Prime! Since this LO is also a boy, we really have just about everything we need this time. We do need to get a new crib and a double stroller, but that's pretty much it. He will be sharing a room with DS1, so no new nursery to get ready either.
I did not realize how amazing a bath would be. The second I started to drain the tub and I stopped floating it hit me how much pressure the water took off. I pray our hospital has birthing tubs, and that I will be able to use it. On a side note my bath was a chilly 95 degrees as opposed to the 105 it started at before I put cold water in it. Glad I didn't boil peanut, but...buuurrrrr

Um, you got that excited over a pillow because it is adorable and awesome. Good call, lady.

Obviously not required, but you'll probably do a fair amount of bonding with your LB over the next few months. I probably will.
