@thomas930 hang in there! I don't think you were being irrational at all! Holidays are stressful and being a SAHM is a hard job! I'm sure you are doing an amazing job! Can you try for some time out of the house tomorrow!? If you can go get a mani or some ice cream!! Xoxo
@aviola329 How are you doing this morning? Did you end up going to CVS?
@thomas930 You are completely entitled to feeling overwhelmed! I would be too. Will you be around family next week? Maybe you'll be able to steal a few hours to yourself and have loving grandparents/aunts/uncles hang out with your kids for a little while.
@katieharpiceland Thanks for the reminder that today is the shortest day of the year. It honestly starts my day on the right foot knowing that the days get longer from here on out!
My gripe for the day...when DH and I got home from our Christmas dinner last night, I found an empty little box on the table that had been filled with chocolate candy from a student. The fat little dog with short, stubby legs found a way to jump up there and eat it all. Luckily it wasn't enough chocolate to be concerning for the dog but it was enough for me to be pissed off at him. I made him sleep in his kennel (which DH always thinks is mean) and sure enough this morning, there was a pile of dog puke with silver foil mixed in. Ugh, sometimes the dog just irritates me.

I had to read this 3 times because I was convinced it said your student gave you a litter box with chocolate in it... I think maybe I need to go back to bed.

DH's snoring has gotten worse lately. Usually he just snores on his back and I just move him to his side but now he snores while laying on his left side too.

Yes, but I thought at first it said LITTER box, not LITTLE box. Made for a weird mental image, that's all.

*sigh* first day of 15 days off from work and i wake up at 7. after a lot of waking up last night too. boo! hoping a little tea and toast will help with my upset stomach too. not a fun way to start the day!
tonight will be our last "normal" night at home before we head to michigan! sunday we will need to hit the hay pretty early, because FIL is supposed to pick us up around 5am to take us to the airport. i'm SUPER nervous about all of the flying, mostly because i just don't do well in the morning because of my mucus stomach and i'm terrified that i'll puke on the plane. if i go to bed at like 7 tomorrow night maybe i can get up at 3am then have 2 hours to get ready... i'm also a little nervous because i'm SURE i'll have to get a lap belt extender for my seat on the plane and just the thought is embarrassing. i've been chubby my whole life, but have been so thankful that i've never been chubby enough to have to get an extender. i know it's because i'm pregnant, but i can't help but think "well, if you would have just lost the weight before getting pregnant then you'd look cute, not like a whale." i have a bump, but i have to TELL people i'm pregnant because it looks like i could have just gone off the deep end into a box of doughnuts. i'm also a little pissed at the moment because my peppermint tea tastes nothing like peppermint. and, we're out of honey. gosh, i'm crabby today!!

@pineconey I was really nervous to fly too for thanksgiving because of my queasy stomach throughout my pregnancy. I was terrified that I would puke on the plane! I took a half of unisom when we boarded and it helped a lot. I also had a lot of movies prepares to watch to keep my mind off of it. I'm sure you will be fine!! But I'm sorry you're so stressed and having a bad day
DH just started taking this new stuff to help him workout and be motivated. Well, I decided to take advantage of that today so I said "Alright! everyone help me clean up for a little bit, the mess is driving me nuts and I just cleaned two days ago!"
By the time I was done doing dishes and putting DD's clothes away, DH had taken all the trash out, picked up around the house, swept and mopped the kitchen and livingroom and when I went to see what he was doing he had scrubbing the outside of the dishwasher. LOL I've never seen him clean so much. I think I like this stuff.
ETA: My house isn't usually a mess. I litterally cleaned two days ago but while I was gone yesterday, DH had already destroyed the kitchen while he was cooking and then again that night. It amazes me how easily a house can go from spotless to messy in just one day.

@thomas930 sounds like your husband is a pretty decent guy. Sometimes our guys don't realize we need them around. Hope you get some me time soon! As someone who has intermittently had to ask for a seat belt extender, please don't be embarrassed! If you ask the flight attendant as soon as you board the plane and let them know what seat you are in, they will bring it back to you folded up in their hand discreetly once everyone has boarded. I've only ever had one bad experience with asking for one and have needed to use extenders for about six years thanks to this lovely pear-shaped body
If it makes you feel better, just smile really big when you say it and rub your belly like "you know how being pregnant goes!". I've found that I've gotten treated much better by flight attendants who know I'm pregnant and not just fat, sadly.

@aviola329 I am glad you are feeling better at least! Good for you for wanting to be your own advocate at 27 weeks! That is so important. Even if you don't have and don't develop pre-e they should absolutely treat your concerns seriously. Am I understanding you right from a previous post that your mother may have had pre-e in one of her pregnancies? It wasn't perfectly clear to me because it seemed like you meant that your mother wasn't willing to offer up that information, but if there is any chance of a family history then your OB absolutely should be listening to you, even if you aren't 28 weeks yet.

@aviola329 I'm so glad you're feeling better! Definitely talk to your OB about the answering service fail. I had major issues with them around the time of my a/s, and discussed my concerns with my Dr. She had no clue the answering service was being a pill, and apologized profusely, and discussed the problem with the office manager. Sometimes the Dr.'s don't know the details, and nobody tells them!
And now, back to finishing up the baby's closet. Nursery is soooo close to being furniture ready!
@pineconey, whenever I've been dreading a flight, something hilarious happens on it. Maybe you'll get some of my good flying mojo today, and it will take your mind of nausea, extenders, and all the other joys of pregnant flying.
I posted awhile back about a friend of mine who had been struggling with infertility. With the help of IVF she was finally able to get pregnant- a fact that her DH decided to share with the world via FB the moment they found out. As a PgAL momma, this made me cringe, and she was pretty pissed at her DH. They have several friends who have been struggling and the way he posted it sounded very "in your face." She's got a high risk pregnancy for a number of reasons, so all I could do was hope and pray for a sticky baby! Well, about a month ago they found out that both embryos too and they would be having twins. She was around 12w at the time. And her DH again decided to post about it immediately. I cringed again, knowing it would be a miracle if both babies survived. Well, last week they found out that they lost one of the twins. I hate this, because I just want to punch her DH for pretending that nothing could go wrong. Even though they had seen us go through our loss along with several other friends, he still decided in his head that it wasn't a possibility for his family. I just feel so bad for my friend- her DH has made this all so much harder for her in so many ways. And if you remember from way back I'm September, we went on a trip with them. I was so sick (about 8w at the time) and he told his wife that she's not "allowed" to complain when she's pregnant because it's going to cost them so much money. I just... Agh.

@aviola329 I see. I am sorry that your mother isn't being very supportive of you. Yes, toxemia and pre-e are very much the same thing, so if you haven't already, definitely bring it up to your OB when you go in next. Family history is considered a risk factor so your concerns deserve to be heard without a hand-wave, no matter how far along you are. The fact that your mother had it doesn't mean that you surely will, but it should get your OB to keep a closer eye on you if that is what you want! FX.

I think you are doing the right thing! If you continue to have the swelling, hitting up the CVS once a week or so just to keep tabs on your BP while you wait to see your OB can't hurt. My OB suggested that to me as an option between appointments. I haven't felt the need to do so yet, but it is free (right?) so that is an option.
I am hoping we both get lucky and don't have to bother with pre-e at all.
