I can't believe I just told DH he was allowed to buy a 70" tv for the house. I swear to god, I'm the nicest wife EVER sometimes. He better fucking believe it.
My DH would for sure love to be married to you. He would love a 70" tv, but it's not happening
I'm so nauseated today and have no idea what I should eat for lunch. But I just opened a thread that had a picture of a big, fat chocolate cake in it, so maybe that.
Me too! Today and yesterday for no apparent a reason.

I'd be skipping to the store with glee along side DH if we could afford a nice tv.

Thought the same thing. Set up. Even if she was a troll she is lucky I didn't see her response to ncchnat. ncchnat is the shit and I'd have jumped right in with her.

Someone talk me off the ledge.... I literally JUST finished the baby quilt I've been working on and as I was walking out I spotted other fabric that I'm obsessed with. I'm about to axe the nursery I planned and make a new quilt and change everything. Blahhhhh!
I guess there is an upside to being a highly emotional pregnant lady. I just had to deal with my bank over 5 insufficient funds fees (this month hates us and slammed us and our paydays are skewed so things are coming out when they shouldn't be). I started crying and told the lady that we were getting paid at the end of the week and we're even returning Xmas presents to try to get out of the negative. She felt so bad she reversed all 5 fees for me instead of the normal authorized 3. Still bummed we have to return the Xmas presents but that will get us into the positive before payday so that paycheck can go towards bills and we hopefully won't end up in the hole again. I hate money and I feel like such a grinch this year because we can't afford anything
(((((Hugs))))) I understand hun. I, like @poru, have some good recipes. We are giving away a lot of baked good this year.

I may take you up on that recipe. We're going to an Xmas party this weekend and I'm hoping to get a little more into the spirit. Maybe make some cookies or something.
I'm just worried about figuring out small Xmas presents for the kids bc I'll feel bad giving nothing and goodies don't usual do it for kids. And of course this is the season of work asking people to pitch in for group presents and I feel horrible saying I can't. Totally sucks.
You could see if there are any crafting kits on sale? I used to looooove those as a kid and since they are interactive, you get more bang for your buck than some doll/truck.

I just had some peppermint ice cream in a mug and then had the brilliant idea to pour some of my hot cocoa on top. It shall be known as the Christmas float . Also let it be known that it was amazing!!!
P.S. Love when I'm having a low blood sugar day and can have some treats
I'm working from home this week and today I really miss DH for some reason. I wish he was home with me instead of at work being responsible and making money for our baby.
@aviola329 ((hugs)) girl. I'm sorry you are guys are struggling right now. We just let our family know that we can't travel to see them this year due to not having the extra gas money...they understand of course but its still disappointing...I also can't remember the last time I actually bought my parents or siblings gifts, we've always had to do baked goods because it's cheaper.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
That's a lot of kids to buy for, would your family understand if you guys couldn't this year? I couldn't imagine trying to stretch for that many gifts.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
aviola329 are they siblings? For my 5 cousins I will get them a video game or a board game and write all their names on it, as something they can all play together.
Maybe if I can find a good family gift. The problem is that 3 are in one family and 5 in the other. And they all will get us and DSS gifts
One family gift may be a good way to go...like a family board game?
It doesn't hurt to talk to them, let them know what's going on and that you guys are struggling right now...I'm sure they would feel very bad if they knew how hard of a time you guys were having and with a new baby on the way they should understand how much of a stretch this is. Holidays aren't about gifts, I would hope they would understand that and really the kids probably wouldn't even notice if you just did baked goods for each family.

I was thinking of trying to keep a $5 limit for each kid.... That's $40, hopefully not too much of a dent considering I'll get $20 in Ross store credit from this return.
I think the board game idea is a good one. I can point you to some kid friendly but more interesting than monopoly board games.

Yeah I would second a board game or maybe a Christmas movie for them to watch together? You make a little basket with some hot cocoa mix and popcorn and present it as a family gift to be enjoyed on Christmas Eve?
Came home to have lunch with DH because we don't see each other much on Wednesdays. He's spent most of the time working out more insurance issues on the phone. Boo.

Despite my best efforts to keep them out of the living room (put a baby gate up) and away from the tree and christmas presents, I still came home to two of DDs christmas presents completely torn apart and my brand new, oh-so-beloved tree skirt torn apart.
I could cry. Before anyone asks, yes we keep bones and toys out so they could have something to chew on but I guess they didn't find that sufficient enough.
@J&NL I would be mad and cry too! I'm so sorry. It's probably because it's a new thing in the room and different than their toys. Did they jump the gate? if so I would get another and kind of stack them to make the gate taller.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
We only used it a couple times when we first got our dog before we figured out he needed daily morning walks. He didn't chew what we sprayed, but I am not sure if it was because he was being good or it worked...
I've been contemplating doing this! But I was so scared I would ruin my hot chocolate. Or waste peppermint ice cream. I'm glad you tried it first and it's good
@thomas930 no, they pushed it over. I'm going to get an extra tall gate that has the door in the middle to put in between my kitchen and living room since it's sturdier than the one I have. It costs like $70 but I don't care at this point.
@katiegummow I haven't heard of that! I wonder if petsmart carries it. DH mentioned something about them having a spray to put on the tree to keep the dogs away so maybe that's what he meant. If that's the case I'm going to spray everything in the house!!
We have like 10 extension cords at the house, right? So DH needs three for outside lights... He unplugs the one from the tree, the one from the lights on the mantle and the one from the lights on the banister. Um. Sigh. Now he's all 'well, I needed them.' I don't care! Now he's all pissy I'm 'forcing him to stop' lol, duh. Ugh.
