Good luck!
LMAO...this is hilarious. In the almost 9 months of sitting here TTC, I had never thought of any of those. I guess if I had, I would have been able to plan my pregnancy "on the dot the first try". Thanks so much for the advice.
This is exactly the kind of reaction that makes boards like this unhelpful. The person who posted this advice was giving an honest, helpful answer and it just has to be attacked. We all understand that not everyone gets pregnant right away and many of us are very sensitive to that for personal reasons. However, that does not give anyone license to attack others. Sarcasm is not helpful or supportive!

Then if I were you, I would lurk a bit more to figure out if this is the place for you. That sarcasm was nothing compared to what is generally thrown around on here. Relax and put on some big girl panties.
No, we just tried asap and it worked the first time for us. ?I know that is not typically the case and we were quite surprised to find out it happened so fast.?
LOL...I can handle the sarcasm just fine, I just wish we could stick to helping each other out by just answering the questions instead of attacking. Good luck MikeMarie :-)
Yep ... we actually did ... we're 34 and 35 year old, been together for almost 12 years, were married May 23, 2009, and wanted a baby March 2010. So, with the help of a trusty ovulation predictor in the month of June, we got pregnant ... we're due March 8, 2010. Worked for us ...
Actually, we did this. I asked my husband if he wanted to be a father by his birthday (August 31) and so we figured out (with the help of online calculators) when would be a good time to try, and with luck, that is when we conceived. Our little guy is due August 26, 2009...so yes, 5 days earlier than my husband's b-day, but luck was on our side.
It sounds like it entirely depends on the individual and perfect timing. I am in school right now and it would be easier if I had a baby in the summer after classes are over. That being said I will be happy even if that is not what happens.?

We did have two months that we preferred, April and May, though we would have been happy with any month. It worked! We had our handsome boy at the end of May (two weeks late)! We figured out that we needed to conceive in July or August. Just in case, we started TTC in June. We had one miscarriage very early (literally a couple of weeks pregnant); I had my menstrual cycle the following week and conceived the week after that. As a teacher, we tried for April or May so I could take the rest of the school year off and have the rest of the summer with the baby..."extra" time since I was unable to take any time off of school.
We just said "hey let's see what happens" and 4 weeks later I had a positive on the pregnancy test. I was actually planning for it to take a few months of trying, and if that were the case, my due date would have been right at the end of a school year, giving me a reeeeeally long maternity leave... (and free!) But instead I'm going to have Christmas babies most likely.
We planned for our baby to be due in May -- unfortunately that plan didn't work out so we made another one for June, July, Aug., Sept., Oct, and then November. BAM... we got lucky and our plan worked perfectly. We are due Nov. 4th!
When we first starting trying but now we'll be happy with any month that the God bless us with... but I know someone who have and I was like "OH MY GOODNESS!!! seriously!". But God has perfect timing so I pray to be patient be we'll be sooo happy when it comes..

Yes, actually. I wanted my baby due in February/March and I took Nuvaring out may 6th, had a period that month, and then got my BFP June 26th...so luckily it worked out for us...I had a BFP before I even missed my period (about 6 or 7 days before) and I'll be 6 weeks on Tuesday, Due March 9th with baby # 2

Oh, and reason being for wanting a March or February baby was because everyones birthday is back-to-back in April-July, and Sept. 1st is the cut-off date for starting school, and I didnt want my child almost 6 when they start school. Anywho....I guess we're just fertile myrtle's....we already have a 3 year old, so my doc said we shouldnt have any problem getting pregnant......I was in her office pregnant two weeks later, so apparently my body was already working on it when I went to my preconception visit, LOL.....good luck to you whose having not as much luck as I did ***baby dust to you***
We wanted a summer baby, but ultimately it didn't matter since we had been trying for over a year without results. We just "tried harder" during the months that would give us a summer baby...We're due in August The way to find your due date by your last period is to add 7 days to the first day of your last period, then count BACK three months. So, to try for, say, a July baby, count UP three months, and get pregnant in October
We actually were aiming for early July, because we were hoping that my Mom could come over from the UK during her summer break (she's a teacher) to help out. We're due mid-August, so it worked out pretty well!
My SIL & I are trying to get pregnant at the same time. She's a teacher & suggested Sept that way she'd be due during the summer. So, she's going to start trying in Sept. As for me, I started trying in Nov. Let's just say she has more faith than me. =]
I'm in nursing school, and it's a two year program...we wanted to have a baby, but there was only a two month window (Sept-Oct) for us if we wanted to have it in May-July. ?It ended up working out for us (I got pregnant in September), but it took a lot of luck and an ovulation kit! ?If it didn't happen then we were going to wait another year to try again.
DH and I picked a 3-month range in which we have less work (we have our own business training show jumping horses and it is hard for either one of us to be out of pocket), which is December through March. We decided to try for a February or March baby, which meant May or June cycle. Mission accomplished in June, waiting on our first LO in March!
My gynecologist had suggested sex every day during the 10 days around day 14, which we did in May, without success. I read that a lot of people just do it every other day for the entire cycle, so that's what we did in June, since I was not charting (no basal thermometer in Argentina? go figure. I'm still getting used to living here and "doing without" certain things...) and wasn't sure when I would ovulate. We were lucky, I guess!!!
I wanted to get pregnant around April so I would miss the "busy-season" at work, so that's when we tried. I did get pregnant in April... a whole year later!
That was our thinking. I've been on bc since I was 18 and was told it would take a while to get it out of my system. I went off bc w/ the understanding that it'd take at least 6 months. It didn't...it took like 2! I guess God doesn't think I should be such a planner! haha...Leah will be here in Dec and not April like I hoped for!
Yes! You have to understand you particular cycle...when do you ovulate, what are your fertility signs, etc? It's called the Fertility Awareness Method. I suggest reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." It is well written and very easy to understand. I followed the method to conceive my second daughter and was successful the first month, then used to prevent pregnancy for 3 1/2 years (no pills, shots, etc) and am now pregnant with our third child which is due in March...exactly when we hoped for!

Can I go out on a limb and guess that most of these people who are new on this post are not reading ANY of the remainder of the post, nor are they lurking ANYWHERE else on this board?!
Me I'm going to say Hell Yea I tried to choose a due date month. Or should I say a general season. I'm a freekin teacher you think they let us have maternity leave? NO Ideally I should have a baby at the end of the school year. Because what the heck, how wold you feel if you were a student and your teacher left school early, better yet how would you feel if you were a parent and the teacher left, or even better a principal who had to higher someone mid school year.
So HELL YEA i tried to pick a month. And you know what for some people it works... but not for me... i'm not bitter or anything
