i started out at a healthy weight for my height, so my BMI was "normal." i was hoping to put on 30 pounds since they say a healthy weight gain for people with normal BMI's is 25-35 pounds. Had an appt yesterday and i have gained 22 pounds at 28 weeks, so i think i am on track to gain a little more than i had wanted. For those of you who started out at a normal BMI, how much weight have you gained and how many weeks are you? second time moms, do you remember how much weight you gained each week in the third trimester? thanks!
Re: weight gain roll call!
Hi there
It sounds like you are doing great!!!! I was in the "normal" range for my BMI and at 26 weeks I've put on 20lbs. I'm guessing I'm going to be a little over than what I orignally expected
I admit, I had a pregnancy 'goal weight' of only gaining 25. I'm only 5'2" so even a few extra pounds is a lot on me.
I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and up 18 lbs, so yeah, it looks like I'll end up somewhere around 30 lbs. I just need to stop thinking about it.
It didn't help that a few weeks ago, my mom asked me how much I'd gained and I told her 15 lbs, and her response was "Oh, by looking at you I would have guessed 25 lbs". Ugh. That's going on my mental list of "Things I'll Never to Say to MY Daughter".
I was normal weight pre-pregnancy (125 lb, 5'3"), and I'm up 20 pounds at 26 weeks. I didn't have morning sickness and gained about 5-6 lbs first tri. I'm hoping to keep the weight gain right at about 1 lb per week from here on out.

I've gained 6 lbs total at 27 wks -- and that has been just within the past month.
By this time in my pregnancy with DS I had gained 30 lbs. Same starting weight both times (healthy average BMI) and same eating habits, etc. I had gained 50 lbs by the end.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

At my 24 week appointment I had only gained 4-5lbs. I had horrible m/s for months and am still dealing with off and on nausea/throwing up. My midwife sort-of gave me a hard time about my weight gain, but right now the baby is growing right on track so we're not too concerned. I do think I've put on a little more since that appointment and have a feeling that I will gain more in the 3rd tri.
So far at 27 weeks I have gained 16 lbs. I Started off at about 120 so I was pretty small to begin with. My goal is to gain 25-30 lbs and so far I should be right on trac.
I just had a bad stomach flu/virus so I'm sure I lost some, but this morning I still weighed less than what I did pre-pregnancy. Baby is growing great, but it seems like my butt/thighs/arms are shrinking. I was maybe a little overweight pp (I'm 5'1" and was 136 lbs)...
With DD I think I gained maybe 20 lbs, if that.

At 27 wks I'm up 17 lbs. I gained a lot between weeks 20 - 24 and haven't moved up since then. I've also lost some of my appetite lately and I remember with DS plateauing towards the end, gaining less than a pound a week.
If I can stay under 30 lbs total I'll be happy.
I began this at a normal BMI as well, with a goal of 30 lbs gain. I had gained ~25 lbs at my 28 week appointment. According to the doctor, I'm probably going to gain between 35-40 lbs. It's strange because I had bad m/s, but I didn't loose during it. I'm also not just eating whatever I feel like. It is definitely easier for my body to gain weight and I will always have to work on it, so I'm not surprised that I'm on the higher end of normal or a little over. Just gotta work hard to loose it later.
Goodluck to all xoxoxo
It makes me feel better to read all of your posts. I have been feeling a little down about my weight. I had a normal BMI and I have gained 25lbs at almost 27 weeks. I tend to gain weight easily, but I was hoping to stay within range. It looks like I will be above that. I know it is all for the baby so at least it is for a good cause!
I was working really hard to loose weight right before we got pregnant so it makes it harder to see the numbers rise. However, I am just now at my all time highest weight and am almost in my 3rd trimester.

I started out at a normal BMI. I've gained 30 at 28.5 weeks with twins. I anticipate gaining 40-45 total. I have not been told an amount or range by any of my doctors. Yesterday the midwife said my "weight gain is beautiful". I had to laugh at that. It has been very steady the whole way through if that's what she meant about it being beautiful.
I am measuring at 34 weeks with a singleton according to my Dr. yesterday. Interesting to know this is where I would be with only 6 weeks to go with one.
Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
I was also normal to start.
At my 20 week appt, I was DOWN 18 lbs.
At my 24 week appt, I was still down, but only 11 lbs... so I've sort of gained 7 lbs.
