I tend to keep the TTC crazies away from my DH... only answer questions when asked or correct horribly misconceptions...

@Mrs07‌ idid hypnobirthing as well. 21 hours of labour, but I'm so glad I did natural birth. I had no complications either, except for one minor tear, which I did not feel at all. OP childbirth is made out to be this horrific, dangerous ,ordeal in our culture, but it can be powerful and positive. I started doing some perineum stretches at 37 weeks. I would not worry about it until late in pregnancy and with guidance of a midwife or OB. But if you wanted to do something now to prepare for birth, I think reading some positive birth books would set your mind at ease. I liked " the thinking woman's guide to a better birth" and Ina Mays guide to childbirth.

What I have heard from friends is the contractions are the worst pain so you barely notice the pain of ripping because of the contraction pain.. Also if you go for the drugs you probably won't feel much at all. Also not everyone rips but I think most people do :-/

Wait... WTF! How have I missed this!? I use toys, but that doesn't loosen anything up... if my DH had to fist me in order to prepare for childbirth, we wouldn't be trying to have a baby!
