The ER was taking a minute to get rolling this morning.  They are all here now, apparently they needed to wake up late today.

*I* needed to wake up late. I got like a cumulative 6 hours of sleep between Friday and Sunday. We drove to Rochester for a bowling tournament Friday night but couldn't leave until the middle of rush hour at 5pm so didn't get to our hotel until 11pm Friday night. The drive itself isn't bad but we had to pick up and drop off people all across the city so by the time we left Rochester to go home Saturday we didn't get in until 3am, then DH had to be up and out of the house by 8 the next morning for baseball and I had groceries being delivered and errands to run all morning. We then proceeded to go golfing for Father's Day and host dinner for the whole family (17 people), then had to clean up after they left and still didn't go to bed until midnight. To say I'm exhausted this morning is an understatement. 

I'm also crabby because BIL was one of the people we drove and he never once said thank you, didn't chip in for gas, didn't offer to drive, and bitched the whole time about having to navigate because he stole my shotgun seat and refused to give it up so I downright refused to try to navigate from the backseat. Our other passenger paid for one of our dinners, offered gas money (which we refused because she bought us dinner instead), and took a turn driving.

@kiki047 how are gas prices where you are? They're hovering right at $4.99/gallon where I am. I would absolutely insist on chipping in for gas $$, especially now when it's so expensive.

It's over $2/L here in Toronto, and we paid $4.89/gallon in Rochester so yeah, it ain't cheap. BIL has never contributed to a goddamn thing in his life, he's the type to show up to dinner empty handed but with a snack for himself that he picked up on the way. SIL will offer to buy coffee or something for everyone if she's with him but only if they're already stopping, and it's usually something we don't want so we don't really get anything out of it personally.

👋 hey friends! i've been driving all day to get to the bay area where i'm staying for the week. i'm not sure how much i'll be around for the next little while as my schedule here looks like it is going to be hectic. but never fear, i'll be back. my next retrieval cycle is less than 2 weeks away and you all know i rely on this forum to help me cope with my ER anxiety.

@rockstarmomma152 a drive-by is when someone who has not introduced themselves, read the newbie guide, or contributed to the community in any way creates a post. Sometimes it's an innocent question that could be put in the randoms thread, but usually it's asking if they are pregnant, asking us to look at a pee stick, or occasionally cervical mucus. *shudder* The mods tend to remove them pretty quickly since they violate TOS. Sometimes they leave a nasty reply/rub their positive test in our faces, sometimes they apologize, sometimes they don't come back.  There was one a few years ago that called us "hocus pocus b*tches". She was a peach.

@rockstarmomma152 and @emeraldduchess my favorite drive-by/peggy in my time here was peggy with a paternity question who through like, drove through several times and then got in some of our PMs to ask us this fabulously convoluted question about whether sperm can live through a period and go on to fertilize an egg in the next menstrual cycle. i still wonder sometimes how it all turned out.

at least the IUD one was relatively harmless... but also plenty of applicable places it could have landed instead of it's own post

Thanks for this entertainment. Wow - some folks just don’t get it! Even after having it explained a dozen times, I guess. Also, there are many other non-moderated boards that are full of only drive-bys, so maybe just try a different site/app!

The SC decision still really has me reeling. I'm so mad about it I can hardly see straight. It motivated me to "come out" on social media re: my IVF process and the ways in which I see that process, an act of my own reproductive bodily autonomy and choice, as part-and-parcel of a person's right to terminate a pregnancy that they do not want to carry or cannot carry.

@optimistgardener - I’ve been out about my fertility journey, but did post about how it’s scarier for me now - if something goes wrong I may not be able to access appropriate medical care. I also posted about my abortion when I was a teenager (that I didn’t want then, but am grateful for now), which I haven’t done so publicly before. Im pretty open w friends, but haven’t been with family and folks who know my parents (who are very “pro life,” but made me have the abortion). 

My neighbor is always posting pro life and anti trans posts that are just non-compassionate and cruel. I’m like - you could just ignore both of these things that WILL NEVER IMPACT YOU. Why spread so much nastiness all the time?

It’s overwhelming to be online sometimes now.

Yeah, I've been reeling since the decision as well.    I've posted a few things on social media reminding people of my 5 'abortions'/MCs.  I've seen others do the same, even people who weren't as open on social media!  Sometimes I think it takes people being able to see that it's their friends and family that are actually and significantly impacted by these types of decisions to realize it's not always what they think.
