I don't understand your question, but – speaking generically – I can tell you that sperm can live 3-5 days in the female reproductive tract.

Not sure what you're getting at here, but it generally wouldn't matter if sperm could survive in the uterus or fallopian tubes because chances are you're not ovulating through your period, so there is no egg to meet the sperm. It's a moot point.

@metria27 are we still talking about your "16 year old sister"? Because this child doesn't sound like she should be having sex if she doesn't even know how biology works. JFC. Also, as you have been told the last time, if this hypothetical person had a period then they are NOT pregnant so why does it matter if the sperm is still alive?
And on that note, on a more pressing matter, STDs can happen with or without ejaculation so maybe whoever this is pertaining to ought to be more concerned about using condoms for all of the above reasons.

@inthewoods23 and @kiki047 I mean, we already know I'm not the best stalker... but when you post an almost identical outlandish question, a few weeks after your first ever post on this site... it's not rocket science.

Also, second link above is for "Asked and Answered" which is my favorite way to deal with child nagging (and also very versatile in using it for ridiculous and repetitive issues in other areas of life - like say brain-cell lacking co-workers or that obnoxious uncle you have, etc.).

@metria27. The only way this question makes sense is if it is a question about paternity, and you are too embarrassed to ask it outright. You're anonymous on the internet! Just ask things clearly. I mean, this is not the venue, but you seem to be particularly interested in our opinion so the lesat you can do is actually be clear about what you are asking.

I am assuming that you (or your sister...) had sex with someone (let's call him X), and then had a period, and then subsequently found out that you were pregnant, and you are wondering if it's possible for X to be the father of your child. The answer is probably no. Probably because it's possible that you did not really have a period, but early pregnancy spotting after sex with X. But if you had a true period, and then had sex with someone else (let's call him Y) then it's almost certain that Y is the father of your child.

Here is another way to figure it out: however many weeks pregnant you are, subtract 2. That is how many weeks ago the child was conceived. Whoever you were having sex with that week is the father of the child. If there is more than one person who fits that criteria, you are in the realm of the paternity test, and I suggest sooner rather than later!

Good luck! This is a board for women who are trying to get pregnant, though, so questions about an existing pregnancy should be directed to the first tri board.

Date of conception by doctor was in April and period was 5 to 7 days with blood clots and heavy blood and cramps

@metria27 we are all trying to get pregnant here. NONE of us are currently pregnant, and some of us have never been. You’re barking up the wrong tree and quite honestly being completely insensitive.

@metria27 don’t you think the 1st trimester board with women who are pregnant, or a birth month board with women who are actually pregnant, wouldn’t be a better place to ask than women who haven’t EVER been pregnant EVER or are desperately trying to get pregnant?

Why would you think this is a good place to talk about your pregnancy?

… with several women who have recently, and are currently experiencing miscarriages? I can personally say the last thing I want to talk about is some random strangers pregnancy atm.

You say that you’ve been where we are with two years of trying and some miscarriages.

I haven’t even gotten to the point where I could have miscarriages yet (but my heart goes out to those who have 💕). I’m going on 6 years of not preventing and 5 of actively trying. I’ve gone through many IF treatment cycles and am debating ceasing treatments soon, with the understanding that would mean me not becoming a mother biologically. Others here have had even more trouble than me.

I don’t think you’ve been where many of us are.
