Re: Symptoms - July

  • Oooof, I seem to have jumped on the diarrhea train. I don’t remember that at all from my last pregnancy as I had the exact opposite problem. But diarrhea+nausea is no bueno!
  • Loading the player...
  • @rachelredhead Ugh sorry:( If it helps mine only seems to have lasted about 2.5 days...so far today seems ok. But definitely NOT fun.
  • 4+2...and the vomiting begins...
  • @rachelredhead hit me yesterday too. I definitely didn’t have this last time. Hope it subsided soon!

UGH the nausea is pretty consistent. I had waves with the last 2. But this time around, its kicking my butt. I am happy when I can eat a meal per day. No vomiting. I am also so so tired!!! But this nausea although for a good reason, is so annoying!
  • I’m not throwing up but the nausea is pretty constant. Between that and the fatigue, it is a struggle to get through the days.

How are you ladies surviving the first trimester??  I’m hoping it gets better soon.
  • @Sarah0335 My symptoms don't normally kick in until closer to 8 weeks...so I've got a bit of time before it gets bad still...so I'll probably be vomiting hourly just in time for the start of work in September:/ I threw up yesterday but made sure to get something in my stomach early today which seems to have helped. I'm still super early (4+3) and the worst symptom right now is the bloat...boobs are just starting to get sore and the underlying nausea isn't too bad yet. I'm sorry you're not feeling well:( I'm sure I'll be comiserating with you in a few weeks!
  • @Sarah0335 this pregnancy has had more severe and earlier symptoms for me. I felt a little lost trying to figure out a good routine to still be somewhat functional during the day. I’m just telling myself that *hopefully* this is just temporary and that better, more enjoyable stages are ahead. I have been going to bed between 7-8 every night which has helped feel better during the day.
  • Same! I am having the hardest time. Symptoms started around 5 weeks and are not letting up😩
  • awful heartburn... I went too hard at my birthday dinner last night and ate way too much, I woke up no less than 4 times because of the heartburn

  • @smoresdoeuvres oh wooooow, totally forgot about those smoothies! I am totally making a Caribou trip tomorrow.
  • Asked in weekly check in too but anyone else have the metallic taste or filmy feeling in their mouth? It’s awful! I had the taste in other pregnancies but I can’t remember what helped it go away.

@v2hb I do though mine hasn't gotten too bad yet. If I remember correctly it usually gets worse around 6 weeks for me. I have never found anything that helps long term. I have tried hard candies, citrus, anything to get rid of the taste. Eating a slice of lemon helps temporarily but that's about it:/ Sorry! I know it's miserable!
  • @Panaceia thanks. I need to get some lemon and see if that helps. I don’t remember it being this bad the other 3 times but I also had so many cravings and nausea that it probably didn’t seem like a big deal.

  • @v2hb The problem is that any time I found something that worked within a few days I would be so suck of it that whatever it was would make me throw up:/ I think ginger chews worked for a while too...
  • I have been having mild cramps on and off since week 3.. it's my 5 th week now.. is this normal?
  • idk if it's increased sweat or increased sense of smell but i stink today. Hope i make it home without having to see anyone else!
  • Is anyone else having mild symptoms that seem to come and go? All previous pregnancies have hit me like a truck, so I’m feeling uneasy about the lack of symptoms.

I’ve been having on and off mild cramping, tender and full chest, acid reflux, and some slight nausea/food aversions (maybe a handful of times).

With my daughter, I couldn’t stop puking from 5 weeks onward.  Not that I want that, but some more consistent symptoms would be reassuring!

  • @morgantu Same! It’s been hot here lately, but I feel like I’ve been sweating so much more than usual - and I stink!

@Jeenyus Yes! My symptoms are definitely still mild and definitely coming and going. I remember with DD1 making a comment to my mom that I felt great and if pregnancy was going to be like this it was going to be a breeze...and then I got HG and I sent pictures to my sister of all the blood vessels in my eyes that were burst from the constant vomiting...but I feel like that was closer to 9 weeks maybe? Couod have even been 10... I'm actually just going to revisit my 9pd board to see when I started complaining of nausea with DD2...I'll be back to update;) I always remembee it as being immediate and constant but I know it wasn't.

ETA OK, so after lurking my old bump board the earliest posts I have on there are when I was already 6+5 (they opened the board pretty late) and I was already feeling nauseous...by 7 weeks it sounds like it was pretty bad...but I don't think I was throwing up yet. So if the same holds true this time I've got about 1.5 to 2 weeks before I start to feel like dirt...
  • @Jeenyus my symptoms during my first pregnancy were verrrrry mild. I probably would have been worried had I known any better. This pregnancy is a completely different story. Much earlier and most severe symptoms. I have heard other people say that every pregnancy is different and given my experiences I now believe that.
  • @Jeenyus I was just having anxiety yesterday about how my already minimal symptoms had disappeared and then was hit by a truck today with exhaustion, nausea and food aversions. Definitely coming and going, and different from my other pregnancies!

@gayu1107 I have been!  They were consistent at first and now it’s on and off. I just keep reminding myself that it’s normal for mild cramping.  If it gets heavy and there is bleeding then I’ll get concerned.  My extremely sore breasts and nausea usually distract me enough.
  • I had a sore throat come on from what seemed like nowhere yesterday afternoon. It feels like post nasal drip and I do have a bit of congestion now but I didn't really when it first started hurting.  It woke me up a bunch through the night and I'm wondering if it's just pregnancy rhinitis or if I should go get a dang covid test or? Anyone dealt with sore throat before The?
The nausea was bad yesterday too with some vomiting at bedtime. DH went to get me meds and ended up driving all the way across town to the only 24 hr pharmacy. (In so ready for pre-pandemic hours to return!) And I felt so bad when the chewable tablets he got me were absolutely disgusting! Dosage is 2-4 but I barely forced my way through one. I think it did help, but it's gonna be hard to make myself use any again because chalky SaLtY cherry is bout the least appealing thing I can think of when already nauseated.

  • @Car0liiine I always get a sore throat in early pregnancy. Mine started either yesterday or the day before:/ No fun at all! I hope the nausea let's up a little bit for you today!
  • @Jeenyus same here. My first I was so sick from about 6 weeks on. I’ll be 6w on Friday and so far I’ve had some mild symptoms that come and go every few days - sore chest, indigestion, no appetite, super mild nausea, diarrhea, and now mostly just insomnia. It’s nice to not be too bad and I’m hoping it lasts but also makes me super anxious
  • @Car0liiine yes! I just had a sore throat randomly the last couple days
  • @Jeenyus also super mild symptoms here. I’ve had the range of symptoms in my previous 4 pregnancies TW(plus one loss). Last baby, I was in the hospital several times with HG. It’s really weird to not have any issues so far. I mean, it’s nice but definitely gives me anxiety.

  • @Car0liiine my guess is the sore throat is probably from vomiting right before bed then lying down soon after. Probably for stomach acid? If you dont have any other URI symptoms it probably isnt covid.
  • @kgg2241 Hang in there! Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
@v2hb I don't have it this time (yet), but I had the metallic taste in my mouth for a lot of my last pregnancy. Chewing peppermint gum seemed to be one of the only things that helped.
  •  I’ve started getting these twinge/tingle pains in my nipples. Almost similar to the let down feeling when I was nursing. My queasy feeling kinda comes and goes so I guess I’ll take this as a reassuring symptom but I feel like I’m just walking around the house squeezing my boobs, trying to get them to feel better. 😂 Good thing I’m not in the office, I guess.

The temperature shifts have started for me. I’m normally warm natured, and live in the south so I’m always sweating but every time I’ve been pregnant, I am freezing. It’s so bizarre. Always been one of the confirmations for me. Here I am sitting under 2 blankets with heavy fleece on, in July, in south Texas

  • 6+3 days. I feel so so so tired this week! I'm actually shocked that I'm still up at 9:50 PM here... Probably because I took an hour nap today. I'm lucky I'm working from home still but how could I do this having to go into work? I have to go in for a work function on Friday and I am dreading the idea of having to be awake and pleasant. I feel nauseous and mildly dizzy this week also. I've been eating a lot of Ramen.
  • @rachelredhead with DD2 I would covertly try to squeeze a boob at work every now and then to make sure my symptoms were still there 🤣

@v2hb so funny younger that! DD1 keeps turning the air conditioner on and I keep getting mad at her because I'm walking around in a sweater and wooly socks...
  • @Panaceia haha! Luckily for me, my kids aren’t tall enough to reach the thermostat.
