This is starting way sooner than with my first. Can’t remember what I’m supposed to do to help this. HELP! What helps you?
Thinking of starting unisom+b6 tomorrow as diclegis helped me last time, but it also knocked me out for like 18hrs and now I have a 3.5yr old so not totally a viable option.
@rachelredhead I'm so glad I'm not alone with the insane amount of gas I'm producing... I was teaching swimming lessons yesterday and I'm pretty sure all the farts in my midsection were keeping me afloat like an innertube.
@night_nurse for me peeled ginger root in boiling water that I sip on throughout the day (like tea) is pretty much the only thing that helped me survive my HG...or eating a slice of lemon helped to ease it about 30 minutes at a time. I'm one of the lucky ones who always gets HG and I throw up constantly from about 6 weeks literally until delivery. In a fun twist I somehow throw up more in my 3rd trimester and the nausea never lets up until delivery. It seems to be starting way earlier this time as I almost threw up after my workout this morning and the nausea is already getting strong:/
@Panaceia I felt a strong wave of nausea shortly after my workout this morning too. Feeling a little better after scarfing down a bagel, but it's still lingering.
@Panaceia thank you for the suggestion. I had a strong urge to smell an orange in the middle of the night when I woke up nauseated, so the citrus definitely makes sense. I have ginger root too and ordered some ginger chews as I have read those help others. This is new territory for me. With my first I had a few weeks of nausea that didn’t start until 7 weeks and was never this intense.
Yesterday I didn’t get sick once so I said I can have coffee today, I can handle it. False. I hate myself right now, going to have to give up my addiction this pregnancy for sure
@night_nurse I jumped on the zofran train. I can now function at work, though I am still nauseous all the time. I threw up four times from 7-9 am, started zofran and have not thrown up. So that’s a positive.
@gembud I was wondering if your name was Gemma! That is my daughter's name too! And +1 for a coffee addiction. I am figuring that one small cup is fine each morning.
@iseewholewheat16 I'm glad the zofran is helping but dang girl. That sounds miserable! I hope the throwing up passes soon for you.
@kgg2241 ohhh I love that, it’s a great name if I do say so myself 😂 Ugh I thought I could handle that tiny cup but nope, came right back up, not sure how I’ll survive without it
@gembud that’s tough coffee is causing nausea. I would be struggling without my morning cup
TW Just started having some spotting this morning and a lot of cramping. Really hoping it is normal and not anything to be concerned about at 6w5d. I’ll feel better after my US Thursday
@Sarah0335 I know so many people who had spotting and bleeding throughout their pregnancies. FX it ends up being nothing and your US shows all good things on Thursday ❤
This will be my third kiddo and the bloat is so real at 4w3d that I just bought some emergency pants to have on hand for a visit from my boss when I'll be 7w. Not sure if I'll need them yet, but I don't want to be scrambling if so!
Holy hell my boobs don’t bother me at all during the day, but when DS latches 😵💫 It feels like he’s a newborn again and I’m just doing this for the first time, mama may need to get weaning going
Probably gonna sound weird here, but sniffing isopropyl alcohol. (Ie alcohol wipes). (I'm not talking getting high, but holding it under your nose and breathing) I thought it was bogus, but it even helped with the nausea from when I had Norwalk.
There are a bunch of studies on the efficacy. (I was looking into it for work before my son was born. At the time I didn't find studdies that intentionally included pregnant women, but it's been 2 years since I looked into it)
I keep telling myself it's all in my head because it's too early. 😅
But I am WIPED today.
Like.. passed out, in bright sunlight,on my son's Joey (play couch) this afternoon, while he was screaming and playing and chasing DH around the house.
Also, DS fell today, and smoked his head and bit his tongue. Blood, everywhere. I'm usually very chill and good in an emergency. But my gosh I was sped and felt SO panicked. It took all my skills to stay calm. But after I got the bleeding under control, I started crying as I was cuddling him. (Not sobbing or anything, but some tears.) DH said "yep. You're definitely pregnant...."😅 I dunno how I'm gonna handle work..haha
@goldfishcraker I hear you, I'm so amazed that I'm already having symptoms (currently 3+6). I keep wondering if it must be psychosomatic, but whether it is or not, my belly is bloated out of control, my breasts are bigger, and I'm already having aversions and waves of nausea. I'm grateful to be pregnant but wow morning sickness is gonna suck.
Anyone else have acne flaring up? I've struggled with acne since I was a preteen, and somehow it's still a struggle at 30. I know my acne is hormonal, so it makes sense that I'm breaking out again, my body is going through a huge hormonal shift (again). I feel like it just settled down again after weening DS2 though. Ugh.
@goldfishcraker thank you for the recommendation. The nausea is nonstop 24/7. I caved and took a zofran yesterday even though I know it’s not recommended until after 8 weeks. It was the first time in 3 full days I wasn't nauseated.
@jessier19 I keep wondering if it's all psychosomatic too! (3+4 today) but then I realize that I had forgotten about most of the symtoms that I'm experiencing right now 😅🙈
I THINK if my brain was causing it, it would have gone with the food aversions since that's what I tend to remember as my main symptom from before. Haha
I had TOTALLY forgotten about the intense, constant thirst. And rarely thought about how I was a bulbbering mess (yesterday, I cried because DS decided to "help" sweep, and knocked over the container of popcorn kernels. I was vacuuming them up and crying that "they will never get to live up to their potential..."😂). And I had forgotten about the extreme fatigue, until it hit me yesterday.
I think I'm getting some of the fun symptoms some of you have already had...along with all day nausea I got hit with the diarrhea today too...like alllllllllll day:/ At least I'm only dry heaving and not throwing up cause I have no desire for both ends to be thus occupied at the same time...Thank you guys for posting this symptom...I was just on my way to Google but thought I'd check here first ❤
@Panaceia Fx you feel better soon and the diarrhea stops. That sounds miserable. So far I've only had diarrhea that one day, but I was also feeling super nauseous at the same time...was definitely eyeing DD's potty chair while I was on the toilet...thankfully it didn't come to that.
Heart palpitations and shortness of breath...but I think this is partly due to my lack of appetite and probably not eating enough. I don't remember this with my others...
@smoresdoeuvres day 2 now of the crummy tummy fun. I was hoping it was only going to be a 1 day thing, but looks like my stomach is not happy with all the salad...it's just the only thing that is even remotely appealing to me at the moment...
Yes to all of it. Peeing constantly, shortness of breath, nausea, diarrhea, acne... Not a very glamorous look. At least I haven't thrown up, and I am a little relieved to have such strong symptoms.
@kgg2241 I'm so glad I'm not alone! I haven't thrown up yet either but some of the other symptoms were worrying me...hearing you have them too makes me feel infinitely better!
@Panaceia i had constant palpitations for the entire first and second trimesters of my first pregnancy. Not yet this time so far. Cardiologist determined it was just hormones causing some early ectopic beats- nothing that was scary.
I have been short of breath lately too though! Glad to know others are experiencing it too.
@Panaceia@kgg2241@nightnurse@gembud add me to the shortness of breath list... any time I walk up the stairs it's a whole ordeal, I can't believe my kids haven't mentioned it
@nightnurse and everyone else on the short of breath team, me too! 😲 I thought I was nuts because nothing is being compressed yet. So why the heck do I feel winded after minimal exertion?!😅 Super relieved to hear it's normal!
