Introduce yourself: Hi Everyone! I've been lurking for a bit because I could not for the life of me remember which email/password I used to get on here. I finally got it all straightened out and am ready to jump in! This will be baby number 2 for DH and I. DS is 2.5 and I was really active in the November '18 BMB, although DS arrived early in mid October. Can't wait to go through this journey with you all!
Due date? February 26th
How did you find out? DH and I had been NTNP since I got my IUD out in January. He was hesitant and nervous, until he decided to just "pull the trigger" one night (no pun intended). I was pretty sure that I ovulated two days later, although some of my apps disagreed. I started testing and finally got a faint line! I kept testing and it got darker and darker. And here we are, 5w!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) DH and I were (are?) high school sweethearts. We broke up for a bit when we first went to college, but kept in touch and got back together rather quickly. We got married in '17 and had DS in '18. We also have a black lab, Tessie, who is my avatar and the reason for my username. I am Disney obsessed, and a travel agent on the side!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm so excited. I have been experiencing morning sickness (mostly at night) which I never had with DS so that is different. My boobs also feel like boulders and I've had a little cramping. I want to tell everyone, but am also cautiously optimistic and can't wait until my first appt, which is July 8th.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Not necessarily beautiful, but I love exercising on my new Peloton, and meditating with the app. I love a good mani/pedi and long slow walks down the aisles of Target. Also love a good jam session in the car with the windows all the way down!

Introduce yourself: Hi I'm so excited to get to know you ladies! I've been lurking for the last week or two and decided it was officially time to join since I finally called to schedule a doctor's appointment...
Due date?: 2/14
How did you find out?: Had back pain and some spotting so thought AF was coming in hot. Two days later....nothing. Then I had a dream that I had a positive test. Tested the next morning (on our three year wedding anniversary!) and here we are!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): Hubby and I have been married for three years. He's an engineer, I was an elementary teacher in a previous life and am now a SAHM. We have a 14 month old son who is on 10 at all times and a 11 year old Boxer puppy who is NOT. I'm pretty basic when it comes to hobbies, TV, reading, hiking, traveling....the generic works
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): Can I have all the feels and none? DS took 12 months exactly to conceive and both my husband and I had irregularities in our fertility tests so I was expecting another long season in our lives and possibly fertility treatments. And then I got this positive cycle 1. I'm very grateful but I feel like it was just soooo lucky that it can't possibly stick. I had issues with not getting attached to DS when I was pregnant and I wanted to have a more mentally healthy pregnancy this time around but I feel like I'm doing the same thing. Hoping to feel more comfortable if I see a reassuring ultrasound. Otherwise, called and left a message for a first appointment. Only symptoms so far are my dear dear insomnia and DH annoying the shit out of me. Does that count??
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)?: Honestly just taking the time to put makeup on, do my hair (or have my hair done! even better!) and get dressed up. Probably because it so rarely happens at this point
@tessiesmom26 welcome! @gardenvariety88 you are definitely not alone, I started out feeling kinda detached too because of the fear of MC. now that I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow, with my first u/s scheduled for Friday and having had 2 beta tests, I'm starting to feel less afraid and more excited/attached. some fear/detachment, I think, is normal/healthy, considering how early it is. but if you feel like it's too much, I'd highly recommend therapy to help work on some of the fear/detachment stuff. my therapist has been super supportive and helpful!
@chgilmore thank you and I completely agree although I have yet to take your advice. Every time I syke myself up to find a therapist something falls through. I had one last year while I was pregnant because I was worried about PPD/PPA and then COVID hit and she wasn't a great fit. About 6 months postpartum I tried to get set up with a perinatal therapist but at the last minute we had to cancel because she was over state lines and wasn't able to do telehealth with her license. DH has already been encouraging me to try again to be more proactive this time, so I should probably get on that...
@gardenvariety88 it takes time to find someone who will be a good fit. I will say from personal experience, sometimes looking for someone who has the right credentials can make you overlook the person who will have the right personality. I'm a therapist myself and looking for mine, I said I wanted a certain kind of work but I ended up being paired with someone who's credentials were almost opposite of what I was looking for...two years later I'm still seeing him because our rapport/relationship is good. and studies show that that's what matters anyway
How did you find out? We've been trying trying for awhile and finally decided to see a fertility specialist in December. After months of tests, I finally had my first IUI in April. First one didn't work, so we were going to try again in May. About a week before I ovulated, one of my students tested positive for COVID and I had to cancel my May appointment. June comes around, and my period is late. I have an irregular cycle, so I told myself I'd give it 5 days before taking a test. I woke up that morning, took a test, and instantly got a positive!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I have been married 2 years, but we've been together for 13 years. This will be our first pregnancy. We have 2 dogs- a dachshund and a chihuahua/min pin mix. I'm a preschool teacher and he works in finance. We closed on our first house today, so it's been a very exciting summer.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I had my first ultrasound yesterday, so it's all starting to feel real now. Even after the pregnancy tests and blood work, I was totally prepared to go to my appointment yesterday and be told there was some sort of mistake and I'm not pregnant. But baby is the correct size and has a strong heartbeat! Not a lot of symptoms, except that I am hungry all the time.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Getting dressed up and actually fixing my hair since most days I wear it in a ponytail or messy bun.
I have been creeping the last few days and finally took the time to sit down and introduce myself. I'm excited to get to know everyone! TW around negative feelings in "how I found out" and "feeling" sections. (Sorry for the book)
Due date? February 22
How did you find out? I normally have a never late to the day cycle so my DH and I planned on when he should or shouldn't pull-out based on that and it's worked for years. I have been extremely stressed out at work lately which caused me to be 4 days late last month. Took a test, it was negative, and it came a day later. Fast-forward to this month when I am 8 days late, take a test, and see the faintest line. I panicked, called my best friend, cried on the bathroom floor for 30 minutes and then pulled myself together enough to know I needed to buy a better test since this one was a 3 year old wondfo, sure enough, it was a clear BFP and the line was darker 2 days later.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We have two cat babies and two DDs, one will turn 5 in August and the other turned 2 in March. I am a manger at a trucking company and as mentioned above, it's a crazy time right now. I enjoy studying astrology, reading/listening to audible, and traveling with my family. I have been with my DH for 9 years and married for 3, he stays at home with the kids and works part time. I couldn't do life without that man supporting me.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) We'll call the midwife group tomorrow to set an appointment. Last time my first appointment was 9ish weeks. I am crampy, tired, dizzy for symptoms. I do have to eat more or I get hangry much quicker. Emotionally... *TW* I am coming to terms that we decided to have this baby. When I mention him supporting me, he knows how much trauma I went through with our first two children. From having an unwanted C-section that sent me into months of PPD with my first... to my water breaking 6 weeks early, having a 5 day hospital stay and birth (when I had planned a home birth), ending in a week long NICU stay for the second...I just didn't know if I could do it again mental health wise. We thought long and hard, took almost a week, and decided that we have always discussed the possibility of another. Yes, we also decided that we were done, but I am excited to welcome another little person into our family, I cant wait to see how he/she fits into our crazy.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I feel beautiful when I'm in my sweatpants, no makeup on, fresh out of the shower, doing a mediation. When I take the time to pull inward out of the crazy going on around me, it makes me feel refreshed and beautifully me which is reflected outside as well
Hi everyone! Cautiously optimistic and ready to introduce myself
Due date? 2/20/22
How did you find out? It was our first month trying again after taking a 2 month break and I was feeling SO PMSy and positive it wasn’t happening this month. I decided to just take the pregnancy test and get the sadness over with before I woke up with my period and - surprise! It was positive!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I live with my husband, 2.5 year old son, and two cats. I work in the insurance industry. I love my Peloton and spending waaaaay too much time online shopping.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Kind of meh. Deep down am happy we’re pregnant but scared of another loss and too tired to really be super excited about anything yet! Now that I’ll be mostly working from home this time around I’m thinking I might switch to a more convenient OB but haven’t made an appointment yet. Should probably get on that.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? The very rare occasions when I have the time to do a full face of makeup AND do my hair on the same day!
Introduce yourself: Hi, everyone. I've been lurking on the Infertility boards and here for a while. I was reasonably active on my last BMB (June 2013). Happy and a bit nervous to be here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and offering whatever support I can.
Due date? 2/25
How did you find out? My upper back started hurting 4dp5dt and the next morning I had PMS cramps. I figured I was out so I tested and got a clear positive. First positive in nearly 3.5 years of trying.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have one son who will be 8 in a few days. I have a cat, and we've been raising monarch butterflies for the past two months, which has been fun. I work FT and am incredibly lucky to work in an industry that has been super busy during the pandemic. My husband is an entrepreneur/SAHD so I'm essentially the sole breadwinner for the family. I love to exercise, but other than taking walks, exercise has been on the backburner while we've tried to conceive.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Nervous. I swore I'd only ever transfer one embryo, but after 3.5 years of nothing, a failed first FET, me only getting older, and my clinic pushing FET #2 back by a week due to scheduling issues, I impulsively told them to transfer two of the lowest quality. (I'm the most risk averse, least impulsive person I know...like to a fault so I don't know what came over me.) Now I'm worried I'm pregnant with two. I'll be happy with whatever happens, but I know there are increased risks with twins, etc., and that has me scared. I have my first scan this Wednesday so we'll see what we've got then.
Symptoms include frequent urination, backaches, some light but increasing nausea, and lower stomach muscle spasms/twitches. The muscle spasms started a few days ago and are something I didn't experience in my first pregnancy. Not painful but feels weird. I did some googling, and I guess it's normal for early pregnancy.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I feel the most beautiful when I have a good idea or a really good day at work. ETA: What's up with my signature? Anyone know how to make it smaller/less wonky? TIA.
Introduce yourself: Hi everyone :) I'm so thrilled and nervous to be here - been TTC for almost 5 years and finally turned to IVF this spring. We had one viable embryo and it was transferred in June. After the most stressful weeks we received the good news. I was so focused on that result that I didn't think about all of the first trimester anxiety to come!
Due date? 02/27/22
How did you find out? Blood test (IVF transfer)
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am married to my husband - we met 13 years ago, living together for 9, married for 5. No children, but we have one fluffy cat that we adore. I work FT in the nonprofit world and I am SO lucky to still be working remotely at this time.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I have a ton of physical symptoms, but I'm also still on IVF meds so it may be a mixture of both things. I have cramps, lower back pain, indigestion, sore breasts, fatigue, increased urination, nausea. I've been hydrating and giving myself a ton of rest! Emotionally the stakes seem so high so I have been trying my best to handle the stress and anxiety day to day. I see my doctors often due to IVF and they help keep me on track.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I love a day of relaxation at the spa!
I took the test on the second day of my missed period and was so happy to see the positive result! I have always been terrified that I would not be able to conceive naturally because I suffer from PCOS, buy after trying for about 3 months, we got a BFP!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
This will be the first baby for my DH and I. We have been married for 12 years. I love being outdoors hiking, camping, exercising and being at the beach. I also love doing any type of art. My husband is a special education teacher, while I work as a special education instructional aide as I finish up my special education teaching credential.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I'm having very little symptoms so far, but have developed cramps in my lower abdomen in most evenings and am ready for bed by 8:00 every night.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)?
I feel beautiful when I take time for myself to put on a cute outfit, do my hair and makeup and go do something fun!
I really look forward to getting to know all of you as we go through this process together!
Moving over from Jan 22. They moved my due date based on LMP vs Ovulation date.
Due date? 2/1 with my rainbow.
How did you find out? I “knew in my bones” that I was pregnant, and took a test 9dpo
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I am a SAHM at part time photographer. We’ve been married 7 years and have three kids and a big ole dog.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Starting to feel slightly better physically. Anxiety is iffy. I have recurrent pregnancy loss. This is my 7th pregnancy.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Making art.
Introduce yourself: hi! I’ve been lurking and now ready to contribute. I’m from NYC
Due date?
2/2/22
How did you find out?
Had been ttc, so opk and lots of cheapy tests. BFP a week before missed period. Nothing too exciting. Very technical. 😃
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? I have a just turned 4 year old and I am a hs teacher
Things you like to do? Spouse/partner? Walk around my city, travel (haven’t done since Covid), lots of trips to parks.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I have had nausea since week 6 and have been on Zofran, Reglan and Decligis. This time it’s worse than my first since Decligis did not work.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I am a true empath. I feel your ups and downs and in betweens. I have big sister instincts! 💖
Introduce yourself: Hi everybody! I have been lurking around some of the message boards for a while so I figured it was time to join. I look forward to connecting with you all over the next few months
Due date: February 27, 2022
How did you find out?: We have been tracking everything since December so took a test at 4 weeks 3 days, and confirmed with blood tests last week.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): No other children but do have two cats who are going to be very surprised they are no longer the baby in this house. I am a teacher and enjoy gardening, baking, and crafting in my spare time.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): Overall I feel pretty good. I only have mild nausea which seems to be fairly manageable as long as I eat something, but week 4 and 5 I had lots of bowel issues. Mostly just feeling tired and and anxious that something will go wrong. I am just over that 35 year threshold, and had one MC very early on years ago, so I am trying not to be too paranoid and just relax (easier said than done). I think I will feel better after my early ultrasound at the end of the month, so hoping everything goes well!
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Ooo this is tough. I think when I see how happy someone else is because of something I did, or when I see that I made a difference for someone else.
Introduce yourself: Hi, everyone. I've been lurking on the ttc boards and here for a short time. I got pregnant on the first try and didn't expect it to be so fast, even my gyno was like I saw you 3 weeks ago. I'm so happy to be here and to possibly meet new expecting and mom friends Fun fact I'm half French and half American so baby will be bilingual I hope
Due date? 2/12
How did you find out? My boobs began to be sore and I googled everything I could because I thought I had a mass or something.. and took a test after hesitating and being in disbelief because it was so quick and here I am.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have no kids, this will be my first I have a fur baby named Prune, she's a frenchie that is one year and a half. My boyfriend and I have been together almost 7 years (in October) and he's so so excited which makes me really happy. He works in finance and I work in digital marketing.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm feeling quite confident, which from reading on here I should maybe be more nervous? I had my first ultrasound last Saturday and everything sounded good, we got to hear its heartbeat and say hi through the monitor lol As far as symptoms go, I have slight nausea in the morning and it quickly goes away which has been great so far. I also have sore boobs and that is pretty much it for now. Emotionally I'm crying all the time because I wish my mom was here and she past away last year. I know she would have made the BEST grandma ever!
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I feel the most beautiful when I get out of bed and start my day because tiredness is a REAL thing guys
Hi! I’m a 36 yr old FTM but have had a very long (9yr) fertility journey with many losses. I’ll be 12wks in about an hour lol DH and I are over the moon about this beautiful baby I’m baking.
I’m due 2/02/2022!
We did IVF so we knew 9 days after our transfer.
I don’t have many hobbies, I mean, Iike to scroll online (how original right lol), and I love looking at household items on Etsy as we are searching for our first house.
I’m feeling good overall. I cry sometimes, am queasy every night and have insomnia but over no other consistent issues. I had a Subchorionic Hematoma a few weeks ago which scares the crap out of me but we seem to be all good now. We’ve seen baby 3 times now with my RE but now we have an upcoming OB appt. After that I’m hoping to tell our family we’re expecting.
I feel the most beautiful when I am around kind people and can express myself without judgement. When I have something really pretty on and when my Hubby looks at me like wow! ☺️
Hi all - a little late to the introduction party - it’s taken me a while to convince myself this is really happening!
Due date? 2/11
How did you find out? We have a 5 year old, and have NTNP’d off and on over the past few years but with no luck, and I’d started to resign myself to the idea that we’d be one and done, since we’re both 37. I had some light spotting that wasn’t a real period, and decided to take a test to check and got an immediate positive. DH and I were SHOCKED. Since we weren’t really trying I wasn’t sure when my last period was 🤦🏼♀️. I was still having light spotting off and on, so I saw my GP, who did a beta tests and numbers looked great. I had an early scan to date the pregnancy at 6w3d, another scan at 9w, and am 11w today! I just made partner at my law firm in May, and I think my body said “right, now that’s done, so it’s now or never if you’re going to have another one!”
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m a lawyer and my husband is a stay at home dad. He and I have been married for 12 years next month. We love traveling, cooking, and reading. We’re American but have been based in Europe for the past few years. We head back to the US next year (when I’ll be on mat leave as it turns out!).
I'm due between February 2nd and Feb 7th (measured a week ahead, which i believe is accurate but they don't usually change due date over a week). This is my 3rd baby. My first were born in August 2016 and February 2019.
Im 30 years old and this will probably be our last child. Id like a 4th, but I don't think my fiance would be on board. We're forever engaged (just too lazy to do a wedding). Hes stay at home daddy because I love working. I work in produce.
We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a guinea pig, and a bearded dragon.
Hello! I’ve been lurking for a bit but I might as well post!
Introduce yourself: I’m 31 and pregnant for the 4th time! This will be our third kiddo though, as our first pregnancy resulted in a stillbirth. Since then, I’ve been considered a high risk pregnancy with all my pregnancies, but this doesn’t bother me as I have some of the best OB docs and nurses!!!
Due date? 2/7/21
How did you find out? We decided to try for one more so I was pretty keen to symptoms and found out when I was only 4-5 weeks along. I have a subchorionic hematoma with this pregnancy and it has scared the crap out of me. We’ll find out Thursday if it’s resolved!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? I’m a nurse in Madison, Wisconsin! I have a husband who I have been with for about 11 years now and we’ve been married for 4. We have our angel baby Maya, and then a daughter and son: Sebastian (6) and Shiloh (3)
Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) anything outdoors! We love going on hikes, swimming, bike rides. We’re newly getting into camping and it’s been great! I love to cook and bake but have had much energy to do so lately.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) exhausted and nauseous. Cant shake it. Just when I think it’s getting better, it gets worse. I’ve had my first US and appt about a month ago and I’ve got another US and appt coming up Thursday!
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? My husband and I are both vegan and raising our kiddos as vegetarians. I’ve been vegan for about 10 years and throughout all my pregnancies. I’m adopted from Santiago Chile so I’ve naturally got a mop of hair and dark dark brown eyes that I’ve passed on to both my kiddos 😂 poor kids!
Introduce yourself: Hello! I usually just lurk and don’t post, but this board has a bunch of women that I am really enjoying:) and the board is not too busy for me to try to keep up with this time around. So I’m pretty excited about it!! I am finding myself wanting to chime in more than ever, but couldn’t, because I know the rules;) Thanks for being so cool ladies:)
Due date? Technically February 27th, but I think my actual date is March 4th after a couple early ultrasounds. I’ll have a scheduled c section. That date hasn’t been determined yet.
How did you find out? We were not trying to get pregnant (please don’t hate me). But my period was more delayed than it should have been (I was still breastfeeding my 8 month old at the time, and had only had 2 periods, so it wasn’t unusual) so I thought I’d just take a test so I wouldn’t need to think about it anymore. I was pretty shocked.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I have been married for 10 years. I’m 32. We have three daughters and a boy dog:) I was a CPA but quit in June 2020 because we were having our third child at the time and we are also foster parents and I’ve never been happier! I love all things arts and crafts. I enjoy learning new things and sewing has been my newest love:) but I am super amateur.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I am pretty nauseated but it’s bearable. I am feeling very excited. Because this wasn’t planned, there are a lot of things I/we will miss out on that we had planned to do this year, but (TW) we experienced 5 miscarriages in a row between our first two daughters. That was a really difficult time but God worked in myself, my marriage, and our little family so much during that time, that I would do it all over again. During those 2 years I was diagnosed with mosaic Turner syndrome, so we didn’t know if I would ever get to be pregnant again. All that to say, we are feeling very blessed to have 3 heathy children in a row after that experience. So we are thrilled:) I had two early ultrasounds to check baby’s health and growth and both were great! That first ultrasound has always been where we found out if our baby wasn’t going to make it. So with two healthy scans we are very excited.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Probably just my attitude for the day. But also, even if I’m the smallest I’ve ever been, bloat and just an overall feeling of unhealthiness can get me feeling pretty down.
Thank you all in advance for hopefully taking me in a little late in the game. I hope I don’t disappoint:)
Introduce yourself: Hi I’m Brittany! 👋🏻 I’m 30 and a STM living in Colorado. I’ve been lurking on the March 2022 page since my apps were putting my due date then, but my first ultrasound moved me here. I’m pretty quiet on social media platforms so I debated even introducing myself, but here I am.
Due date? 2/27/22
How did you find out? We’ve started TTGP since April this year so I was on the lookout. Was feeling symptoms immediately. I kept taking tests because I knew something was off (even took a test on the very first day I was pregnant again according to my apps), but it was too early and they all came back negative. Finally took one on 6/24 and it was positive. Fun fact: I had a tarot card reading in New Orleans during our 10 year anniversary road trip in April and she told me I would be pregnant by the end of June. 🤷🏻♀️😅
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’ve been married to my DH for 10 years this past April and we have a 5 year old daughter who is so stoked to be starting Kindergarten soon. We love travel (particularly road trips) and my happy place is Disney World (my first love lol). Before being a SAHM I was a physical therapist assistant and have struggled for a long time in my SAHM role. I loved working and that kind of work in particular. One day I really hope to find a work from home position, but my mental state tanked after the last birth and I found focusing on her was my number one priority so now my job is to be the best SAHM I can be.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m feeling so off if I’m being totally honest. I just had my first ultrasound on Wednesday and was VERY surprised to find out we’re having twins. There are no records of twins on either sides of our family. We didn’t even know if we’d have more than our one kid and finally made the decision to try and now we’re expecting not one, but two more. Needless to say I’m worried, scared, anxious, etc. The age gap was already stressing me out as well. Don’t get me wrong I’m very blessed to be in this position, but I’m a mixed bag of emotions right now lol.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Not feeling very beautiful nowadays, but a good workout always makes me feel at least that I’m on my a game. That and any sort of pampering self care. My husband is always good at throwing me compliments though, even if he is biased lol. 😜
Hello mamas! I’m a little late to join, but I wanted to wait until I got through the early (and, to me, scary) first weeks before posting. I need to go back through and read everyone’s introductions!
Due date? 2/9 or 2/10
How did you find out? We were actively trying, so I was tracking my period. Memorial Day weekend I was feeling *really* nauseous, which made me suspicious, especially since it was the weekend before my first missed period. Waited to take a test until the day before my expected period, and it was positive! It was our first month trying, so I was pretty shocked!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I’ve been married for five years, and we have a 19 month old son and an eight year old dog. I’m a high school English teacher, and my biggest passion/hobby (outside of reading and writing) is obsessing over the band Nine Inch Nails. 🙈
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m finally starting to feel a bit better after some heavy duty nausea weeks 7-12. I hardly had any morning sickness with my son at all, so this was an adjustment!
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Boy, I feel like this is a hard question! Maybe getting to travel and explore new places? There’s something pretty liberating and exciting about that that makes me feel unlike other experiences.
Introduce yourself: Hello everyone! My name is Kayla and I’m 29 years old.
Due date?
2/11/2022. Although I’m hoping I deliver on 2/7 because that’s my birthday 🥰
How did you find out?
Got married mid May of this year and husband and I decided to start trying because we have been talking about kids for years but always said we would until we’re married to start really trying. I was ovulating that week so we were hopeful. My periods have been very punctual so when beginning of June rolled around and I didn’t get my period I went out and bought some digital pregnancy tests and they all came back with the yes+ 😍
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband is 31 and is a chef for a restaurant at a country club just outside of SLC where we live. I’m a barista and work at a coffee shop downtown SLC. We have two dogs, a 9 year old mutt (we think German Shepherd/border collie mix but don’t know for sure 😅) and a 1 year old Australian Shepherd. I’m definitely a nerd and like to read and play video games but I also like to get outside and check out National parks and go on hikes and camping trips. This will be both mine and my husbands first child and this is also my first pregnancy!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m 12 weeks and 4 days today and I felt pretty good yesterday but today I threw up in the morning and have also been pretty emotional. Had my first appointment with my midwife when I was 8 weeks and baby measured exactly at 8 weeks and heartbeat was 170 bpm and all my blood work and other tests came back good. We opted out of NIPT because I have anxiety already and I feel like no matter what the numbers were I would be freaking out so we will find out gender in October ❤️💙
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Honestly, just a nice hot shower and then my skincare routine 🧖🏼♀️
How did you find out? Before my birthday I was a week late and wanted to know if I should avoid drinking alcohol. I was super surprised because it took us 5 years to get pregnant before and I’ve only been off BC for a few months.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m 39 years old. My husband and I have been together 10 years. We have a 3 year old girl and two Pomeranians.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I haven’t even had my first appointment yet which is SUPER frustrating. Our HMO is super backed up and I had to cancel my first appointment originally due to being sick. It’s not for another 2 weeks. Because I’ve had a missed miscarriage before I am not super attached emotionally to the baby but if symptoms are any indication (fatigue, headaches) this one seems to be progressing. My first pregnancy I felt amazing and this is so different it’s hard to get used to.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Right before I found out I was pregnant I did a boudoir shoot. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!
Hi everyone! Joining kind of late in the game, hope that's okay!
Due date? 2.23
How did you find out? A box of pregnancy tests arrived from an Amazon order so "for fun" I took one - very unlike me haha. I wasn't even thinking how many days DPO or anything (which I normally obsess over) and I got a positive.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) DH and I have a 2.5 yo. I'm a teacher.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) My 12 week appt is on Wednesday. Anxious to attend that appt. Haven't been feeling myself, but I"m doing my best.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Making music
Hi everyone and congrats! Guess I should introduce myself 😜
Due date? Feb 28
How did you find out? This was a huge surprise!! I knew I was late but did not connect the dots until much later than I’d like to admit, haha. I finally did the math of just how late I was and knew I needed to take a test.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m a stay at home mom. My husband and I have three kiddos: 6 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and 2 year old daughter.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) sick! My pregnancies have all been this way. Lots of nausea and vomiting. But my first appointment was last week and all looked good!
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)?
Taking the time to put myself together! I don’t do it often enough and it always feels so good when I do.
How did you find out? Took a test the day after coming home from NY - I’d been shockingly nauseous on the 10 hour drive and even though my cycle hadn't regulated post vaccine I had a feeling something was going on.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have a 5 year old who just started Kindergarten and 3 crazy rescue dogs including 1 year old puppies who are sisters. I’ve been working part time since she was born and now remote to boot as we relocated from NY to NC. My husband and I have been married for 8 years, together almost 15.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) TW stressed between them being twins AND having had two losses between the birth of my daughter and now. Still queasy at 13 weeks and tired.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Besides being clean and wearing something I am comfortable in, my happy place is the beach or out somewhere in the sun.
How did you find out? Hubby and I were trying and I have a very regular period. So when my period didn't show, I got out one of the tests I had bought months ago.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm 34 and my husband is 33. This will be our second pregnancy (MC in December). I work, currently from home, in customer service for a medical supply company. I enjoy baking and doing crafts. We enjoy playing D&D together.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): I'm feeling pretty good, depending on the day. Nausea and sore breasts. Emotional- anxious as I had a loss in December. Sometimes excited and sometimes scared to death. All appointments have gone well so far.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)?: getting all dress up, hair done, makeup on and going out somewhere.
Hello, my name is Jenn. I'm 38 and expecting my first!! My boyfriend and I met just over 2 years ago thanks to online dating, which usually was a Hell for me. I was single (mainly by choice) for 11 years after an Awful relationship and while I've wanted children since I became 25, I never thought it would happen. We went through infertility testing but thankfully it wasn't an issue between us, our timing of having intercourse may have been what made it difficult. We tried from Nov 2020 to June 2021 with no success. I downloaded a tracker app which highlighted more fertile days and after paying more attention to that, I believe that is what did it!! In June, 3 days after a period that didn't appear I took the pregnancy test one morning and cried in happiness!! I am so terrified and happy!! Also am glad to join here as over the last 6 months or so I have been reading many stories from this website and what to expect :)
Congrats @nicademus20 ! Ive been popping in and out of here myself, as I get closer to my due date (feb 6), im finding more comfort in reading these stories, as its becoming more real every day.
Re: Introductions :)
Due date? February 26th

Due date?: 2/14
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)?: Honestly just taking the time to put makeup on, do my hair (or have my hair done! even better!) and get dressed up. Probably because it so rarely happens at this point
I have been creeping the last few days and finally took the time to sit down and introduce myself. I'm excited to get to know everyone! TW around negative feelings in "how I found out" and "feeling" sections. (Sorry for the book)
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I feel beautiful when I'm in my sweatpants, no makeup on, fresh out of the shower, doing a mediation. When I take the time to pull inward out of the crazy going on around me, it makes me feel refreshed and beautifully me which is reflected outside as well
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? The very rare occasions when I have the time to do a full face of makeup AND do my hair on the same day!
Hi, everyone. I've been lurking on the Infertility boards and here for a while. I was reasonably active on my last BMB (June 2013). Happy and a bit nervous to be here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and offering whatever support I can.
Due date?
2/25
My upper back started hurting 4dp5dt and the next morning I had PMS cramps. I figured I was out so I tested and got a clear positive. First positive in nearly 3.5 years of trying.
I have one son who will be 8 in a few days.
Nervous.
TIA.
Due date?
Due date? 2/1 with my rainbow.
I am a SAHM at part time photographer. We’ve been married 7 years and have three kids and a big ole dog.
Starting to feel slightly better physically. Anxiety is iffy. I have recurrent pregnancy loss. This is my 7th pregnancy.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Making art.
Due date?
tests. BFP a week before missed period. Nothing too exciting. Very technical. 😃
Things you like to do? Spouse/partner? Walk around my city, travel (haven’t done since Covid), lots of trips to parks.
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? I am a true empath. I feel your ups and downs and in betweens. I have big sister instincts! 💖
Due date: February 27, 2022
GTKY Fun fact: What makes you feel the most beautiful (inside and out!)? Ooo this is tough. I think when I see how happy someone else is because of something I did, or when I see that I made a difference for someone else.
Hi, everyone. I've been lurking on the ttc boards and here for a short time. I got pregnant on the first try and didn't expect it to be so fast, even my gyno was like I saw you 3 weeks ago. I'm so happy to be here and to possibly meet new expecting and mom friends
Fun fact I'm half French and half American so baby will be bilingual I hope
Due date?
2/12
My boobs began to be sore and I googled everything I could because I thought I had a mass or something.. and took a test after hesitating and being in disbelief because it was so quick and here I am.
I have no kids, this will be my first I have a fur baby named Prune, she's a frenchie that is one year and a half. My boyfriend and I have been together almost 7 years (in October) and he's so so excited which makes me really happy. He works in finance and I work in digital marketing.
I'm feeling quite confident, which from reading on here I should maybe be more nervous?
Can't wait to meet some more of you on here!
Sophie
Due date? 2/11
We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a guinea pig, and a bearded dragon.
of the best OB docs and nurses!!!
Due date? 2/7/21
Hello!
My husband and I have been married for 10 years. I’m 32. We have three daughters and a boy dog:) I was a CPA but quit in June 2020 because we were having our third child at the time and we are also foster parents and I’ve never been happier! I love all things arts and crafts. I enjoy learning new things and sewing has been my newest love:) but I am super amateur.
I am pretty nauseated but it’s bearable. So we are thrilled:)
I had two early ultrasounds to check baby’s health and growth and both were great!
Due date? 2/27/22
***Edited to add more.***
