Lol! @inthewoods23 here is a pic of my little guy. We adopted him in May, our quarantine hedgehog. We’ve always dreamed of having one and when Covid messed up multiple *other* dreams and gave us a new opportunity to dedicate time to socialization we finally did it!

edit: I don't know how to add pictures, apparently. LOL

  • @legallykate Yay friend! Glad you are here! Congratulations!
  • Hi everyone! Nice to meet you :)

Due date? 6/18 based on LMP

How did you find out? Took a test not expecting anything, saw a faint line and then took about 6 other tests in a two day period (nutty bird!) and we are a yes!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?). No children, first pregnancy. I have my two year puppy, Cleo, who is my joy! My husband and I got married in March right before the COVID craziness set in, so we are so grateful the wedding went off without a hitch.

First appointment? Any symptoms? I have an appt for blood test and general check on 10/20. Will be too early to hear a heartbeat even though I'm holding out hope that we have a chance! US on 11/4 at week 8. Symptoms - I feel super bloated, a little crampy, exhausted and truly constantly hungry.

I'm so nervous! I'm trying to feel excited but until the US I'm just a bundle of nerves. Tips to try and stay calm and feel the excitement??
  • @ellenibnyc it’s very hard not to worry too much until that first ultra sound. I cant remember if it was in this thread or another, but remind yourself every day and any time you worry, “right now, I am pregnant.” There is nothing more you can do except try to make healthy choices and take care of yourself which in turn takes care of the baby! Oh, and hang out here so we can all distract one another!

@hillbillywife Talk about unexpected! A mom in my last BMB got pregnant with an IUD too. Did they go ahead and remove it today or will they do that when you go back?
  • @klj0228 Thank you! And definitely will do :). So nice to have a group to chat with who are in the same place.
  • @klj0228 they haven’t removed it yet. I don’t know what the next steps will be 😬😬
  • Due date? June 24 for now

How did you find out? POAS today during my lunch break.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
    *trigger: loss mentioned*

I'm 40+ and we were done after our two kids. An unexpected CP in Dec made us rethink that. Another CP in March and Aug and we had given up. This was definitely a shock.

First appointment? Any symptoms? Haven't scheduled an appointment yet. No symptoms so far.

  • Hi @AlliDB ! I also work on a college campus so have a similar issue. Luckily, my job is just me in my lab, mostly, so I don't have much risky interaction. Welcome!

  • @AlliDB @disgruntled_pelican I also also work at a campus! But I am working from home for the foreseeable future. They are trying to keep the number of people physically on campus to a minimum and I don't actually need to be in my office, which has been good for hiding the nausea and unbuttoning my pants at my desk :D
  • @ashaislurking OMG!! Your over here too?? Yay. Congratulations girl. So happy for you
Aww.. you have the same due date as my first baby I lost to a MC :(
  • Due date?  Still a little up in the air, but I think June 5th.

How did you find out?  I get a lot of Migraines up to 20 a month. The last week of September I got one that followed an abnormal pattern, and was even more intense.  I only had migraines like this during my first two pregnancies.  I then realized my period was late. Took a test, and then 3 more. lol they were all positive.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)  I'm a 37 year old cis woman, and I've been married for 13 years.  We have two daughters ages 6 and 5.  I love to read.  I enjoy politics, religion and talking about all the taboo topics.  I've been a stay at home mom since the birth of my first.  I was planning on returning to school this fall to pursue a PHD in Psychology.  However, the pandemic and having 2 kids doing virtual school, I put it off until next fall. LOL and I guess I'll put it off again to focus on new baby and helping my children adjust to the new dynamics of sharing their parents and life with a new person.

First appointment? Any symptoms?  I had my first appointment on October 6th. We confirmed pregnancy and blood work looked great, however we couldn't see baby.  I go back on 10/19 to try to confirm due date again and check on baby.   Symptoms: Migraines, gas and bloating, constipation, swollen breasts, fatigue and insomnia.  I've also been checking my fasting sugar numbers due to having GD with my first two pregnancies and PCOS, and it looks like I may already have developed GD.

  • Hi @jaztastic,
Thanks for asking. We did 5 IUIs first, failed for various reasons. Some his count low, others messed up the timing, I had chronic endometritis.... We are getting old and still no kids, so we decided to step up to the next degree.
GIFT vs IVF wasn't a medical decision for us so much as a personal one. My tubes aren't blocked, so I knew GIFT could work for us. GIFT is actually just as successful as IVF or more. I don't believe in IVF because I don't want to endanger the lives of my embryos. No judgement to anyone who's done it, just not for us. I believe so strongly in my principles, I didn't mind having surgery. The egg retrieval process is just like IVF, and then the eggs are placed in a catheter along w the washed sperm and inserted directly into the fallopian tube.
The first time, we only got 3 brown eggs and it didn't work. The second time, 7 good eggs and it worked. I'm hoping for a healthy, happy pregnancy, birth and baby - or two!
  • @marebear15 as someone with hyperemesis I definitely understand the feeling of counting the good days. My ObGyn already has me on medication and the nausea is fully setting in. Even if there's nothing I can do to help, I'll commiserate on the morning sickness train.
@halfanewt You too!! So many TTGPers on this board! That's exciting!

Hi all I'm Magen from Memphis. I'm 34 years old and this will be my third child.

I'm due June 25th 2021, any other LATE June people here yet ? I just found out I'm pregnant last week. Already developing symptoms though 😃 Food aversion, tired, bloating and constipation. I also had some implantation bleeding this weekend which is when my period would gave started. Its already stopped.

It has taken us a couple of months to get pregnant this time so I was excited last week when I took a test, followed by 5 more over the week haha and they were all positive.

I'm able to see my Dr. next week but doubt they'll give me an ultrasound yet, what do yall think ?

    Thanks!

  • Hi there, looks like we're due around the same time. I was surprised to notice I already have food aversion!
  • So excited to see so many TTGPers!

@AlliDB , @disgruntled_pelican , and @pickle-chips plus one here for working at a university. I do not directly interact with students so they have me in the office and working from home every other day. Thank goodness for that!

  • Due date? I think June 22 :)

How did you find out? Since I got my IUD out I’ve been obsessive with taking tests every month.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband and I have been married 3 years and this will be our first baby! We have 1 dog and are currently fostering another dog. We love to hike and travel. I work in healthcare and he is an attorney. We had an early miscarriage this summer so I’m hoping this one sticks!

First appointment? Calling tomorrow to book! My OB typically books around 8-10 weeks. Any symptoms? My boobs hurt. Everything else is probably in my head!
