September Symptoms

Re: September Symptoms

  • @autumn87654321. I start out sleeping with so many pillows that I am almost sitting up.  Then I slide down as the night goes on.  Maybe that would help.

Feeling extra sensitive today and just want to cry all day.  Hopefully some time alone and maybe a nap might help.  DH is walking on eggshells!

  • @autumn87654321 I was suffering the same acid reflux - Tums didn't even touch it. And it sucked to already not be sleeping well and then to wake up choking on acid! OB told me to take Prilosec and I haven't had it since!
  • @autumn87654321 I have issues with heartburn even when not pregnant and it gets way worse when prego. Definitely know the feeling of waking up with it in my throat.
I have Pepcid Complete and it is great for immediate relief. If I wake up with heartburn I take one then drink a glass of water (mostly because I hate chewables and want to wash the taste out). After that I'm generally smooth sailing well into the next day.

  • @dobiemom11 I have been crying on and off all day! Also feeling super sensitive and starting to notice I’m moodier than usual
  • Carpel tunnel is here for me. When I woke up yesterday I thought I had just slept funny on my wrist, but it hasn’t gone away. I’m alternating from ice to a brace. I’m hoping I can keep it under control!
  • The boobs have started working! I'm a bit leaky after my showers and they're itchy.
  • Restless legs are kicking in.

  • Just noticed a linea night for the first time... and it's off midline!  Wth. 🤣
  • @jchpg oof, I do not envy you on that. I had severe carpal tunnel and actually had to have resection surgery four years ago. It’s absolutely not fun.

My fatigue has come back in full force. Also, dealing with that, the baby kicking my cervix, my asthma, and my pre existing back and hip pain in this humidity is just driving me crazy.

  • @jchpg - Count me in for the carpel tunnel as well  :s Noticed about two weeks ago that my right hand felt funny in the morning trying to hold my phone and then last night I woke up to lots of pain, numbness and tingling that took almost 30 mins to get rid of! I've never dealt with this and was freaking out in the middle of the night! Is a brace helpful for sleeping?
  • @feather_heather a brace CAN help with cts. If it’s mild to moderate, it will help a lot. The brace will hold your wrist stable so that you won’t flex it in your sleep and put pressure on the nerves that are associated with the pain. In my case, the braces (since I had it bilaterally) did squat by the time I had my surgeries and I was wearing them almost 24/7. But before that, when it wasn’t as severe, they helped. Just make sure that if you get one, that it has the metal shank to support your wrist. Otherwise, it won’t do what you need it to do. They do take some getting used to, but if it helps, it’s worth it.

  • @feather_heather it’s been about three days since my pain started and I’ve got it sorta under control. I’m icing my wrist before bed and wearing a stiff brace at night. I also have a light brace for during the day if I notice it acting up. The pain is still there is a rotate my wrist in the “wrong way,” but it’s not constant anymore. I’m doing my best to not do things to inflame it. Luckily it’s my left wrist and I’m right handed.

I had a minimal case with DDs pregnancy but it never has this level of pain. I suspect I’ll need to keep wearing the brace until this little if here, as I imagine my swelling will only
    get worse.

This is the brace I’m using at night:

  • @dreamscapes_ and @jchpg - Thank you for this advice! Going to order that brace and try icing before bed! I'm already having issues with sleeping and insomnia, I don't want to also be dealing with that pain and uncomfortable feeling every night!
  • @feather_heather absolutely understandable. For some reason, cts pain usually flares in the middle of the night, so adding that to insomnia would be horrible! Hopefully it’ll help!

  • Welp..... I failed my 1hr glucose test so severely I’m automatically being referred to an MFM for diabetics management. Ugh.
  • @jchpg ugh, I’m sorry ☹️ Maybe it’ll turn out to have been a testing error.

  • @dreamscapes_ I wish... but it was pretty off the charts. I also had glucose in my urine sample.... so they are bypassing the 3 hr test and sending directly for mediation. In the end it’ll mean I watch what I’m eating much more closely, so hopefully that is a positive for the next few months! 🤞🏻💪🏼
  • @jchpg yay for having a plan in place, though!

  • @jchpg Oh wow! That must have been a shock! I hope it goes well with the specialist!
  • @jchpg so sorry! Hopefully you can manage it with ease!
  • Alright y’all I feel like I’m 13 again and I just woke up with brand new boobs haha literally overnight I have grown these big round hard boobs and I’m pretty sure I have a freaking clogged duct already on the right side! Did this happen to anyone else? I’m not complaining I’m taking it as a sign my body is getting ready/ starting to make milk but holy cow what a change!
  • @tryingktogku Oh no! You may want to call your provider in case it is a clog. Unless you're already breastfeeding, I think you make only colostrum right now, which shouldn't clog since the quantity is so small, but you definitely don't want clogs or mastitis now!

To answer though, yes I've felt like my breasts changed super early on this pregnancy. I'm very aware of them because they feel so different. I've been leaking drops since about 20 weeks too.
  • @gingkomama I did! I saw my midwife today it was a clogged duct! She said sometimes mamas colostrum comes in super fast and can cause a clog so I stood in the shower for like an hour massaging it out and like tons of colostrum poured out of the right breast but it’s finally back to being the same size as the left and doesn’t hurt near as much! Crazy what the body can do.
  • @tryingktogku oh wow, that is crazy! My boobs are definitely a lot bigger and I grab at them from time to time to just realize how much my hands can't hold anymore  :D But don't let my H do that because they are still very sensitive (especially the nipples)

  • @tryingktogku That's crazy about the clogged duct! Good thing you caught it - one of my friends had a clogged duct in her second tri and didn't realize until it progressed to a really bad infection that sent her to the hospital. I had no idea they could get clogged that early.

Anyone else experiencing tailbone pain/discomfort? I didn't have this at all with DD and I'm not sure how to best deal with it since I have a desk job (and no standing desk at home)...
  • @cassafrass15 - could you try sitting on a yoga ball at your desk?  I had tailbone pain with DD and found it helpful to switch off between a regular chair and something like that.
  • @cassafrass15 I've been having tailbone pain for a while now. My doctor recommended that I see a physical therapist. I haven't yet, I keep putting it off because some days it barely hurts, some days I can barely move and I'm in tears because of the pain. I can't figure out a pattern though to see if moving more or less helps. I work at a desk all day from home, I have a computer chair and I sit on a regular pillow (I've done that since day 1 of working from home, just because the chair is too short) but it usually feels fine during the day. The pain starts when I sit on the couch in the evening and overnight despite using pillows between my legs and everything else that I've found recommended online. I did find some YouTube videos of stretches that seemed to help some days (again, I couldn't find a pattern of when it would help and when it wouldn't) but maybe you can try those stretches to see if they work for you.
  • @cassafrass15 I would recommend yoga ball, stretching, alternate between sitting and standing. More weight on our bellies is putting more weight on her tucchus's when we're sitting. Try to take more breaks during the day and do a quick lap around the room or something. The cat/dog pose is supposed to help with lower back pain, but it's hard to do with a big ol' belly hanging down.

  • I’m doing some laundry and packing for our mini-staycation/babymoon tomorrow and I’ve had to keep asking DH to pick things up from the floor for me. Bending is hard right now 😩

  • @tryingktogku Wow that is so crazy! I'm so glad you asked!!
  • A tinge if heartburn has started and praying it doesn’t get worse. Been getting more Charlie horses in the middle night and just eating eating eating constantly. Oh and so hormonal and crazy it’s not even funny!!
  • @hham10 I've also been getting some heartburn almost every day lately. I'm trying to eat smaller amounts more frequently to see if it helps.

Lots of stretching (both yoga and flexing my foot) before bed seems to have stopped my leg cramps. I'm hoping that continues because my legs are sore for days afterwards.
  • I’ve been having tailbone pain the whole pregnancy. I’ve always sat pretty badly. I work sitting a lot in my studio and I’m constantly putting my knees up in the chair.
  • @hham10 I’ve been getting the leg cramps, too!

    @autumn87654321 That’s a genius device!

    Ugh, hemorrhoids guys. Whyyyyyyyyyy
  • Another tailbone sufferer here! I got this pillow from Amazon and I love it, it's been a huge help!

  • For all having the leg cramps at night: eating a banana every day has virtually eliminated them for me. It’s the potassium that helps. Drinking more water can help too, but also makes you have get up to pee! I have eaten so many bananas while pregnant!
  • @tryingktogku ugh I hope he can come home early! You’re so strong to have made it this far on your own! Things get pretty hard physically from here on out so it would be so good if he can come home early! 🤞🏼

@bearmomma1 I know that’s the most frustrating part in starting to feel like I can’t do normal day to day stuff without a lot of extra effort haha my heart really goes out to all those single mommas out there
