  • @manillabar DH was only sick for like 2 days. I have asthma so it got pretty bad for me but thankfully I was able to ride it out at home. I'm just thankful that my son was mostly asymptomatic the whole time!

  • Any one else have other March babies or anyone who planned March specifically for a reason? Tell me all the reasons I should be more excited about a March birth. My current thoughts are cold, dark, windy, and still flu season.
We planned for winter for three reasons (although ideally it would've been a couple months earlier):
-I had to wait a minimum amount of time after my c-section to have the best chances of a successful VBAC this time around (my hope)
-My husband manages a hardware store, so spring and summer are his busiest times. Having a baby later in spring or in summer would NOT work well for us!
-We didn't want to wait longer (e.g. late summer or fall) because we wanted to keep the age gap between kids as small as possible with the VBAC restrictions.

    Hi!
    Due date: 3/27
    I have 1 daughter, 17 mo. and a 20 y/o stepson.

I'm a social worker and currently work in the behavioral health field with kids. I love crafting and gardening.

I'm so excited to be here!

Yea! Another Social Worker! Welcome everyone!

In the other direction, I had my first in May and while it’s a gorgeous time of year there were a couple downsides. The first month or two I barely wanted to go out for more than a tiny walk, but then by the time she was old enough that I wanted to do longer trips, summer was in full swing and we wanted to avoid big chunks of the day because she couldn’t handle the heat well yet. I think with a March baby, they’ll have a little more time to grow before the heat hits, making summer outings a bit more viable. Any time of year will have upsides and downsides!
  • @swbecca528 @sunny_native14 MSW here as well!

@mrs_massie I think you were on the April 2018 BMB with me! I recognize your name but I have changed my SN and picture since then.
  • @erica0901 That's exciting you are opening a PP! I plan to do the same thing eventually but probably not for a few years still. I have really great benefits where I am currently at which is soo hard to walk away from.
  • @jenotontx It definitely is exciting, but also SO scary. I have been lucky enough to be credentialed by some insurance companies, so I am getting referrals, but the change to potentially leave a salaried job is kinda unsettling.

  • @jenotontx I was on the April 2018 BMB too! Hi again.
  • @amw2013 welcome, and sorry for your previous losses. Hopefully you are here for the long haul! I think maybe it's time to get the PGAL (pregnant after loss) thread up, so we can all commiserate and support each other <3

  • @jenn622-2 I'm also considered high risk. I'll be 35 when I deliver (my lovely Dr. threw the label "Advanced Maternal Age") in my face at my appt. today...Which apparently automatically bought me a ticket to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Dr.  I also have a history of hypertension and pre-eclampsia.  Also, this will be my fourth c-section.  All 3 of my kids have been born at 38 weeks.
  • @travandas I was 35 when I had my first! Now at 38 I suppose I’m “very advanced”  😂 wishing you a safe and uneventful pregnancy this time around!!
  • @cmortmain My previous pregnancy I told my boss around 15-16 weeks, and my coworkers around 20 or 22. I think it all depends on your work culture- my boss kept planning to put me on important projects around my due date so I felt like I needed to tell her earlier than everyone else lol
