Is anyone else nervous about take out food? My nov 18 moms say food can't transmit anything. Just put food on your own plate and wash your hands but I can't get out of my head about it. I really want a blizzard though.

Somewhat nervous. From what I've read, it should be safe. But the packaging and actually having someone pick things up is uncomfortable for me. Which isn't to say we haven't done any either. But ice cream we can't really ditch the containers either. You could wipe container maybe?

We haven't done any take out since this all went down. The workers have no sick time and I don't feel comfortable with them breathing on my food.
@runwmusic we’ve gotten pizza twice in our 4 weeks of lockdown. Trying to keep it at a minimum but just needed a break twice from constant home cooked meals ha. It’s such a tough call
We've done takeout a couple times, but from a small family-run restaurant (entire staff is a single household) that we would be heartbroken to lose if they're forced to close. We get two meals each and repackage the "leftover" ones when we get home. They're an Afghan family that's run their restaurant for decades and there's literally no one else in the city to get home-cooked food like theirs. And almost everything I like is GD friendly if I ask them to hold the rice. They used to use eco-friendly takeout containers, but moved back to styrofoam during Covid so that they could wipe them down before hand off and they always remind us to wipe them down again at home. I feel okay about this.
@runwmusic We have done takeout a couple of times, though it has been about 2 weeks since we have done it. We just take everything out of the packages, throw the packages away, and wash everyone’s hands before we eat. We try to mostly cook ourselves but every once in a while we need a break.
@runwmusic We do takeout, but only get meals that are heated through (i.e., no uncooked ingredients). I am dying for a Chipotle burrito though!! Rationally, I know there's no evidence that this is spread via food, and if I weren't pregnant I'd totally do it... but... but..... "abundance of caution" and whatnot.
I'm paranoid about take out. We did it once more towards the beginning, and it's just made me uncomfortable since. I'm more worried about the exposure of the other people going in and out of the restaurant than the food itself. I'd probably be more inclined to do delivery, but we're kind of out in the country.
We have done take out a bunch of times, but it still makes me nervous anyway. A lot of restaurants by me are doing curbside pickup and will put it right into our trunk. Then we change containers and wash our hands. So the risk is minimal, but I feel like there is always some risk.

Ugh I just want Arby's and a blizzard so bad but can't get over the worried feeling. Added two Ben & Jerry's to my next Walmart order instead
