shaqn0sis Thankfully I've felt SO much better this week. I don't want to say it's behind me because that's just asking for trouble, but I feel almost normal again this week. My appetite is back, I don't feel like ralphing, and I'm not quite as tired either which is SO lovely. Just overall better. Thank you so much for the sweet words
I forgot to take my unisom and B6 combo last night and I’m back to feeling nauseous today! Apparently I’m still not ready to go off it at 14 weeks. I did not miss this feeling!
I have been having pretty bad hip pain, especially when trying to sleep. I got a Leacho snoogle but have decided it's not hefty enough to do the job. So I'm going to go back to using an old tempurpedic pillow between the legs, that seemed to work better and also be less disruptive to my sleep. It's been hard trying to get used to the snoogle in general.
@rachelredhead I'm know this is delayed, but I've been craving oranges my whole pregnancy! I buy the little cuties every week, I agree with @lizzybean84 that regular size oranges are a pain in the butt to peel.
@eljames83 I could never get used to the pregnancy pillows and ended up just using a body pillow. Sorry your hips are bothering you! I just got done with 9 weeks of PT for Pelvic floor and my hips before getting pregnant and I’m noticing some issues quicker this time mostly at bedtime as well. Hope your pillow helps!
@eljames83@lizzybean84 do they have the sumo oranges where you are? The season is usually just a month or two but I plow through two a day. They’re huge and peel super easy, like monster clementines. I’m going to be so sad when they’re gone.
Mmmm, clementines! I hope my cravings for fresh fruit are still around when it’s actually warm weather and all the good, local produce is in season! I’ve been wanting a good Jersey tomato for a month. Not possible in January 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the past two hours. Absolutely miserable, especially when you have two toddlers who want to climb all over you
@NinnyJean I had my first bout of BH today. I honestly can’t remember when they started with my first pregnancy, so I was a little surprised to feel them this early. We did have a really busy day today, so I may have just over done it a little.
@kristinl492 I was surprised too! I actually called my OB’s on call line because they went on so long and were pretty painful. She said that the more pregnancies you have the earlier you tend to get them. Hope you got to rest and they let up!
@NinnyJean I wish I could remember when I felt them with DS! I know you have contractions the entire pregnancy that you don’t feel, even in the first trimester, but it’s still a little bizarre to be feeling them when I so heavily associate it with the end of pregnancy! Mine aren’t painful though, I hope yours ease up on you!
I'm usually a stomach sleeper, sometimes a back sleeper. Over the past few weeks I've had intense hip and shoulder pain from trying to sleep on my side. I hold a long pillow that also goes between my knees. That doesn't alleviate the pressure, though, on the shoulder and hip. My only thought is I use a softer pillow for my head, and may need to find something firmer. Anyone have experience with this? I'm seeing my doc this week, too, so defi asking them.
I've been having lots of BH too.... I swear I didn't get them anywhere near this early with DD. But, I guess that's to be expected for FTM vs STM. Your body has a better idea of what it needs to do and, I guess, starts prepping earlier. Mine aren't ever really uncomfortable though, thankfully.
My headaches are still awful right now at 15 weeks. I know people have mentioned taking magnesium. What dose are you taking? I’ve tried a magnesium powder that gets mixed with water but I don’t think it’s enough.
@Fullhandsfullheart I've been taking a magnesium supplement (pill) that I got at the drugstore. The bottle says to take one per day, so that's what I've been doing. Not sure if that's helping or if there's another reason, but my headaches did start to let up recently (I'm 17 weeks tomorrow). I hope they let up soon for you as well.
I guess I've also been having BH. I just didn't identify them as such because I never had them this early with DD. I maybe started having them like 32-34 weeks last time, but I don't remember. I also didn't know what they were for a long time lol. But every once in a while I'll feel this weird tightening that's noticeable but not uncomfortable. Just thought it was because I've gotten so large recently.
@Fullhandsfullheart It's either 500 mg or 400 mg. It's just one of whatever was in the bottle. I can look when I'm home again. I do think it's helped some.
Everything just feels like it’s GROWING today. Very aware of the light pressure and stretching going on today. Mildly uncomfortable but happy to have it happening!
Anyone else ever have a feeling of letdown like you know you need to feed the baby now kind of feeling even though there’s no baby and nothing actually coming out? I keep getting this tingly feeling like that randomly and not every day. The other day it was hearing a baby cry. I don’t remember having that with my second after knowing the feeling. Maybe I’m just weird 😂
The RLP caused by sneezing is killingggg me. It's gotten to the point where between the risk of peeing myself and anticipating the RLP, when I feel a sneeze coming on I literally throw down whatever I'm holding and grab my belly and clench with all my might. Pretty ridiculous sight.
This is my first pregnancy so I'm kind of a newb. Do BH feel like tightening in your pelvic area? My whole lower abdomen just felt tight for a good few hours yesterday but not painful. Or is it just in your uterus that you feel it?
I've also been getting weird tingly nips so it's nice to know what it actually is. You ladies are a treasure trove of knowledge
@lizzybean84 I think they probably feel slightly different for everyone, but my BH usually felt like a tightening of my entire abdomen, like they went higher up than my uterus. But I also didn't start getting them until my uterus had stretched higher than it is right now. And they usually come and go like regular contractions, not for a whole hour straight. Although since it's so early they could have been coming and going for an hour and you didn't notice?
@meanjellybean that was my experience last time too... but I've had them earlier this time and notice that it's definitely lower than what I was used to before. That said @lizzybean84 the whole hour thing makes me question if they were coming and going and you just didn't totally notice or if maybe it's just stretching that feels tight. The best way, for me, to tell is that my abdomen felt harder. Like, press your fingers into where it's feeling tight and see if it feels hard. If so, probably BH.
I’m glad I’m not alone! @lizzybean84 I would also describe them as a tightening of my whole abdomen. The other day I had them for a few hours on and off. I asked my OB yesterday about it and she said maybe I overdid it which is probably correct. After a warm shower they calmed down. She did say it was normal but to try and relax and drink more water if they’re more consistent.
@blaf322@meanjellybean It definitely could have been coming and going and I didn't notice (I was at work so distracted for sure). And being 18 weeks, this is a prime time growth spurt period right? So it could very well just have been the stretching. I've started feeling slightly more uncomfortable as far as that's concerned the past week or so, just being aware of the weight down there now whereas before it felt pretty much the same as it did before pregnancy.
@hbird0723 Drinking water and a warm shower is a great idea. Come to think of it I was bad with my water intake yesterday so that makes a lot of sense. It's also been a tense few days so that might be contributing. Do you ever feel things in your body now and wonder if it's just body stuff or because of pregnancy?
@lizzybean I had the weirdest stretching and pulling sensation yesterday just sitting minding my own business. I do think that happens during growth spurts.
@lizzybean84 I’m not the best with my water either and at least for me I feel like stress really affects my muscles too. I was told by my physical therapist that I hold my stress low like sciatic, hips and mid back. Made sense since I always feel achy there if I’m stressed or had a crazy week or something. I told the OB this one is killing me because when I want something done I want it done now and DH will always be like why didn’t you just wait until I got home. She said I’m the same way but you need to be more lazy 😂 Also, it is weird I’m always thinking is that from the baby or did I eat something that didn’t agree with me 🤣

@lizzybean84 yes, they are!!! I don't care if they're marketed for 3 year olds...I'm gonna enjoy them!
