Re: IF Testing and Treatment w/o 8/26

  • @hanshotfirst77 Good luck today! Rooting for you!!!
@jennifer_louise Awww get it, girl!! Let us know how the RE goes.
@shoogapoff Sorry for AF. I really hope that the IUI works out for you. I know plenty of people who only needed one. Fx that’s the case for you.

Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, RPL, low progesterone, ???

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): limbo

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): ****TW loss/losses mentioned*** tracking HCG to 0 and at the very least doing genetic testing and sperm analysis. I think we have to wait to do CD3/CD21, but I’ll know more on Friday.

    How are things going?: meh.

Any questions?: Just wondering how fast my egg quality and quantity may be declining at 36.5.... Our RE has one of the highest success rates around and I keep staring at the sign that says only 50% at my age, but I know it’s lower for me specifically since I’ve had my 3 losses. Wondering why my MC have resulted in less development each time. Mad there’s nothing to test after the blighted ovum and CP.  *****/TW****

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? Teleportation - NJ can be so full of traffic and I get motion sick, so flying wouldn’t work!

  • @ruby696 @kiki047 @kpearse99 @splashmountain Thank you! He honestly feels great. We have been out for a few shorter runs and he has been active with no issues. A little adjusting to the new device he now has in his side, and how this will effect his work long term. We were really lucky though and grateful that he is still here with us.

    @ruby696 How are you feeling?
@kiki047 Oh friend, I am so sorry that you got that bfn and feeling crappy on top of it. *hugs* Remember you are not out until you are out though. Feel better soon and make YH take care of you!
@hanshotfirst77 Good luck today! Keep us posted on how you make out.
@jennifer_louise Hope that your consult goes well on Friday. Ask all the questions! Fortunately I enjoy working out too and do so often. But I also really enjoy my treats, and cupcakes. If I could just eat what I wanted, I would still work out. Man I would be ripped! lol
@shoogapoff Thank you. Sorry to hear you are struggling. This whole IF journey can be heavy on the heart. Try and stay positive and remember that not everyone is that same. There is nothing to say that your first iui wont stick. Good luck!
@NYTino24 I am so sorry to see you back here so soon. I saw your post and was truly hoping that you would have good news. I hope that you are able to get back to trying quickly. Take care of you though! *hugs*
  • @nitnat007 I’m replying here just to keep everything recent… thanks for your experience with the low morph!  How did YH get diagnosed with acrosome defect?  Is that something seen in a regular SA or was that after further testing?  I’m glad that you guys can get back to TTC after taking some time with just you two when needed.

    @b_1029 how did monitoring go?

@ruby696 I want to fast forward time for you so that you have real answers sooner!  So exciting being PUPO though!

@hanshotfirst77 good luck with the ER this morning!  Hoping for a bunch of healthy and mature eggs that fertilize wonderfully!

@emeraldduchess hopefully your IUI conversation went well!  I totally understand the feeling like you can’t make it work, but also that you would stop the world to make it work.

@misshelen86 that’s so great that you have an awesome counselor to help keep your head in the right place during this crazy ride.  Good luck at the US this week.  What cycle day is it on?  Sounds like it’ll be a great baseline timing… maybe you planned that haha I don’t have cycles so it blows my mind to be able to plan that far out!

@kpearse99 I’m sorry that your cycle is so confusing!  I’m glad that your clinic is going to do bloodwork to hoooopefully provide some answers!  Also, I really hope this LH surge was it and you did ovulate and got some good timing in!

@splashmountain good luck with all the initial labs!  There are a lot but hopefully they give some good insight for you guys

@inthewoods23 sorry about the bleeding after shots… hopefully it doesn’t get on your clothes!  I’ve heard that it’s okay though so I’m sure it’s just fine.  For post transfer, I’ve read about doing an anti-inflammatory diet (whatever that means), pineapple core, soups, socks—like others have said.

@kiki047 ugh I’m so sorry about you getting sick.  My HR always goes crazy when I’m sick, too (but not thaaaat high) and I hope that yours has calmed down and you’re feeling better :/

@jennifer_louise woo for the RE consult coming up so soon!

@shoogapoff yes, the success of IUI and IVF can be disheartening to look at because we all want to see 100% success, but at least you know that you’re proactively working toward what you want and hopefully your story will be success on the first round!  I think most doctors like to try at least 3 IUIs though.

@NYTino24 I’m so sorry to see you back here and I’m so sorry for your loss.  I really hope that the RE can provide some answers or a path forward that works for you.

  • @jennifer_louise I LOVE new girl!! I could re-watch that show over and over and never get sick of it! I have a very hard time figuring out which of the guys is my favorite though!

@mokay19 I don't have any advice to offer on the morph, but I can offer creepy yet comforting internet hugs <3 I'm glad things are still moving along for you guys this cycle though and I hope YH isn't beating himself up too much.  You and your RE will figure out the best plan.

@NYTino24 gosh, I really really hate that you have found yourself back here :( It's so unfair, friend. Is there testing to be done for the RL's? Or did you do all of that already?

  • @mokay19 The Acrosome defect was picked up in the SA that they did through the clinic. The one they do there is quite a lot more detailed than the regular SA. Due to the low morph we were recommended to go ahead with IVF w/ICSI. Which I suspect will be the recommendation for you as well. Unfortunately for us, the RE feels that the sperm is just too badly damaged and even though we got 10 eggs fertilized, the sperm just didn't do their part. There was no further testing to be done though, or at least not in our case there wasn't.
If you have questions, let me know.
  • Good luck today @hanshotfirst77! FX for lots of mature eggs!

@NYTino24 I hope you're able to get some answers from your RE. ❤

@nitnat007 I'm still optimistic, but I also know it can go either way at this point (and at all points, let's be real) it is kind of fun seeing where development should be each day. We're at day 5, so I'm really hoping  1 or 2 made it to blast - today and tomorrow feel like important days in my ute. 😂

@mokay19 I'm sorry YH is feeling guilty but I can totally see why he would have a hard time. I think as long as you're doing IVF with ICSI, you should be able to start when you want and October seems like plenty of time if YH needs another test or two. Your the one that will need to start meds. Frankly, he's not even needed until the retrieval and if they do ICSI, they'll pick the good sperm and won't leave anything to chance.
  • @nitnat007 did you do ICSI?  And did your RE think the sperm didn’t do it’s part because of the acrosome or because of the low morph?  Fortunately, our clinic has ICSI included in the price so we won’t have to worry about specifying. I had originally told the doctor that I don’t want to risk too many eggs since I have PCOS but now that we also have MFI stuff going on, I want to be like PUMP ME FULL OF DRUGS!
  • @hanshotfirst77 woohoo! That's great news!!

  • @hanshotfirst77 That's fantastic!!
  • @bluetickgal Glad to hear everything came back normal so far. That’s great that you will probably be ready to start again next cycle!

  • @bluetickgal I wouldn't see why they would make you wait if your hcg is negative and they are having you take Provera... which would obviously allow you to know when your cycle started.  It's exciting to keep moving forward!
  • @nitnat007 Interesting that the national health standards is 4%.. my Dr. Told me morph should be >15%! Google seems to have several different opinions. It all just makes my head spin!

@b_1029 Waiting has definitely been the hardest thing for me so far. Glad you got your questions answered. Woohoo to having 2 follies! GL with the trigger shot!

  • @misshelen86 4% was the bottom of the range. I believe it was between 15 and 4% was considered 'normal'. But yes, everyone uses a different scale. MH is navy and when we tried to talk to the base docs about it they wafted and used something completely different too. Our last test was 2%, so really low. google is not always helpful.
  • @kpearse99 So sorry to hear you didn’t O. This must be so frustrating and confusing for you. I hope your RE can give you some answers. Hugs!

  • @bluetickgal I’m glad to hear all your testing has went well and that’s awesome that you might not have to wait as long as you thought. What a relief that must be.

@b_1029 that’s great that you have 2 follies! You’ve totally got this for the trigger shot! I’ve done all my shots and it seems way scarier than it really is. Good luck!

@kpearse99 ugh I totally thought you ovulated. That must be so frustrating. I’m sorry if you’ve said this before but do you have PCOS? I do and I’ve had issues ovulating on my own that clomid/Letrozole  plus trigger seemed to help with. So maybe upping your dose will help. Sending you big hugs.

@NYTino24  I’m so sorry you’re going through this again. I can imagine it must be so frustrating to have nothing to test from them. Egg quality is a concern of mine too after *TW* 2 miscarriages. Fx for the rest of your testing. Hugs ❤️

@mokay19 I’m sorry about the results for your H and how hard he is taking it. I don’t know much about MFI but I hope you guys can move forward with IVF as planned in October.

  • @kpearse99 oh my goodness... I'm so sorry about the continued confusion!  So, on my cycle that I didn't respond to the Letrozole, they did bloodwork to check if I was at baseline--even though I was timing-wise in the middle of the cycle--and an ultrasound to check lining and follicles.  Rather than needing to force a period, they determined that my body was basically still at the start and they put me on a higher dose of Letrozole right away.  That might be an option for you if they just checked your bloodwork rather than needed to wait and wait and still possibly force a period.
Since you had follicles start to develop and then go away, I would think your body is basically back to baseline.  I'd continue with the OPKs because I would be interested if the false surges consistently happen or if it was just these times.
  • @kpearse99 Oh no, I'm so sorry. I would definitely just go with the flow at this point. You've got to be so burned out. Did your doctor say whether they would up your Letrozole?

@b_1029 I have betas twice next week and they'll only call me after the second test. I happen to have a big presentation after my second beta, so I think I'm going ask that they not call me until later in the afternoon. So I may just wait it out.
  • @ruby696 yes, I only did 2.5 this cycle and he's going to up it to 7.5 next time around! So hopefully that will help. I am feeling burned out now, I started off so positive too! I think we'll keep up with EOD(ish) but from a more relaxed approach then.

@mokay19 you sharing your experience is so helpful! I had 4 rounds of bloodwork and 4 ultrasounds at the monitoring appointments, so they saw all the numbers and stuff like that - including lining thickness and follie size and count.  They never said anything about my cycle essentially starting over again though.  At this point he wants me to just wait for AF or a BFP (good luck with that happening if I'm not Oing!) and then we start with the increased dose of letrozole.  He said he's hopeful and optimistic that increasing to 7.5 will do the trick, that in addition to the trigger which will force my body to O so we can do the IUI as well as some TI.

@hanshotfirst77 I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, even years ago when my periods were so very random and never consistent.  And now seeing the RE, he's never mentioned it because all of my tests came back normal, so I don't think I have it - I just don't know why my cycles are being wonky all of a sudden.

@mokay19 sorry your H is beating himself up. I know mine was too after his 1st SA.

@emeraldduchess yeah, my insurance makes me ragey too. I actually have 2 insurances, mine covers the testing and the one from H's work covers nothing fertility wise. It's ridiculous! I have a disease of my reproductive system, it should be covered!

    @hanshotfirst77 12!?! Holy moley, that's amazing!

@misshelen86 low count and low motility. And yes, it feels amazing to have a plan 😊

@bluetickgal I would definitely triple check the info but great news if you do get to ttc next cycle!

@kpearse99 I'm sorry! Hopefully your doc can figure out what's happening.

    Eta spelling
  • @jennifer_louise I kept trying to tell him that things wouldn't have been done any differently.  Since he has been doing his part and did the SA's when needed, there really wasn't anything to make us think outside my PCOS!
No, we just used this same protocol and it worked much faster last time.  It seems that my body is reacting a little differently and his SA is obviously a new factor, too.

  • @emeraldduchess I'm glad YH was so okay with moving forward to IUI.  It's such a relief when your worries are for nothing and things work out as you hope.
  • @mokay19 his response was "ok, sure." 🤣 I had a whole speech prepared about putting what we want first. TBH since I am still WTO, chances are we wouldn't be scheduling it until the beginning of October, anyway.
  • I'm so glad YH is on board with IUI @emeraldduchess
  • @ruby696 I just got a blazing +OPK so FX DH is up to HIO when he gets home and I won't need to make that phone call.
