How are things going?: I’m already not feeling hopeful about this cycle and need to snap out of it. I guess I just don’t trust that medicine alone will get me KU. I have my monitoring appt this afternoon and need to think of questions I want to ask the doctor since I’ll have her in the room.

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? Teleportation (or flying)! I love to travel and would be able to so much more - and for wayyyyy cheaper!

@b_1029 I totally get feeling like you can't trust the medicine to do it's job. I bought one of the fertility bracelets @kpearse99 was talking about and that probably makes me crazy, but my superstitious self felt better as soon as I put it on. Maybe indulging in something a little alternative might make you feel better? Anyway, good luck today - I hope everything is looking good!

@b_1029 I'm sorry you are not feeling hopeful. Good luck on your monitoring appt though! When you think of your questions write them down so you don't forget. Sometimes I think of a million questions and if I don't write them down I will forget everything when I'm in front of the doctor.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF#1

How are things going?: I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable from stims. Triggered last night and ER is tomorrow at 9am EST! I am half excited and half huge ball of nerves. I keep thinking I will find out all my eggs are bad. Hoping so hard that I am being paranoid and crazy and I will have some great results tomorrow.

How are things going?: Not feeling great about this cycle. I am going to talk to DH tonight about doing IUI next cycle instead of waiting until October. We need to stop worrying about how taking a day off to do IUI will affect our work. We need to put ourselves and our family first.

@b_1029 Sorry you aren’t feeling hopeful for this cycle. It makes sense to have doubts when you’ve been through so much already. It helps me to think about my back up plan. If plan A doesn’t work, we are going to try plan B. Of course, in the back of my mind I also have plan C, D and E.. I’m keeping everything crossed this works for you though. GL at the monitoring appointment! 

@ruby696 So very excited for you, friend! I agree that you need to stay away from google. Don’t fall down that rabbit hole, you know it isn’t going to help. I hope this TWW flies by for you.

Diagnosis (if you've been): Still testing but some MFI

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Limbo.. just about to head back over to WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I go for my ultrasound this week and still waiting for an appointment with the RE

How are things going?: Struggling a little because af will be here today or tomorrow and this will now mark 12 failed cycles and “official” infertility. The waiting has been really hard, since I don’t even have a date yet for an appointment with the RE. I have a lot of worries but I’m working through them with the help of a good counselor. She’s helping me learn to focus on the things in my life that I can control- how I take care of my body and mind, making the appointments that I need, etc. I think I just need a day or two to mope a little and then I’ll be ready to start thinking about the next cycle.

GTKY: I think flying would be so cool. I always love those dreams where you can fly. Or invisibility would be fun too.

@emeraldduchess I totally understand those worries about how to take time off work because I’ve been thinking the same thing. You and your family definitely come first! Don’t put your plans on hold because of work. This is something you’ve been waiting for and you deserve this.

Good morning all you beautiful ladies!!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO - but on the cusp of TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Supposed to have done Letrozole, Trigger and IUI but only ended up doing the Letrozole because of confusing timing and how my body reacted to the low dose.

How are things going?: Well....I guess they are going like this...

 

Got a second LH surge over the weekend - Peak OPKs Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a line darker than the control line on Saturday so I'm think I O'd yesterday.  Seeing the second surge had me like...

I did email my RE to see if I could confirm with bloodwork and they were on board with that so I'll go in tomorrow morning to see if my progesterone levels went up indicating that I did O! FX this time!

Any questions?: Nope!

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? Gah this is always a hard one to answer!! I think I would go with the power to teleport... especially during awkward situations...

@ruby696 that's exactly how I felt when I put it on! haha I know it's more so the believing in something alternative and probably more so just a physical reminder to remain positive and hopeful more than anything but I'll take whatever I can get.  Plus, the bracelet is pretty! I really do feel better when I'm wearing it though.

@b_1029 I'm sorry you're in this funk. It helps me to remember that it's not just the medicine, it's the procedure of the IUI too... it gets the swimmers past the cervix and past the CM and gives them front row seats to get to that egg! hang in there!

@emeraldduchess I had to just talk myself off a ledge this weekend thinking about timing the IUI out next cycle too.  Becuase I'm Oing later than I though I would have on the letrozole it had/has me nervous about what the timing will be next month as DH is away for a guys weekend at the end of September and it's looking that will be my FW now.  I know we will figure it out though so I need to keep reminding myself of that.  You guys will also figure it out!

@misshelen86 sending you hugs and love, friend! I forget, but why is the wait for you to get in with your RE taking so long? Does it depend on the results of your U/S this week?

@emeraldduchess Yes, family comes first! It's funny how dedicated we are to our jobs when our employers don't care nearly as much about us. 

@misshelen86 That's such a hard milestone to hit. I'm sorry. I hope you cam get an appointment on calendar with an RE soon. I think you'll feel a lot better once you have am action plan with a capable doctor.

@kpearse99 Yikes, what a rollercoaster you've been on this cycle. And props for seeing it through! I hope your RE can give you some answers.

@emeraldduchess @misshelen86 I know how you guys feel about the time off thing. Over this past year of doing IF treatments I have struggled a lot with taking so much time, all the consults, monitoring, procedures, etc. But like you guys said, this is important for your families. You have put your family first and focus on that. Hopefully you guys have understanding bosses and/or good time off benefits. 

@kpearse99 wow that is strange about the second surge, I would be equally confused but Fx that was it and the bloodwork will confirm you did O for sure!

@ruby696 and @hanshotfirst77 I'm seriously wondering now if this is what's been happening the last 2 cycles too - where I got a first surge and thought it was O and then stopped testing the second I saw the surge drop... but then got a second surge for a later O.  That would be why our timing sucked and also why my cycles have been longer than they previously were. I just hope it doesn't effect what we are trying to do with the RE and that the higher dose of letrozole with the trigger will do the trick to time the IUI just right.

@emeraldduchess taking time off for the iui was worrisome to DH and I also, but both of us talked to our bosses on Friday after our RE appt and they were super understanding and nice about it. GL with whatever you guys decide.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): we just saw the RE for the first time last week. I did some labs for genetic screening and DH and I have some more labs to do this week.

How are things going?: Pretty good. It feels nice to have the beginings of a plan in place.

Any questions?: Not right now, but when iui time gets here, I'm sure I will.

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? Teleporting would be nice. It'd really cut down on travel costs and we could travel more often.

@b_1029 I hope you can see the positive in what you're doing! I highly recommend a playlist of fun, upbeat songs to keep you going through this cycle.

@hanshotfirst77 we have such irrational fears going through IVF. I don't think I've heard of anyone having very few or none mature eggs out of all the ones they got. Although I had 24 eggs retrieved and only 17 were mature so it was a little lopsided for me in quality, but the end result to embryos is what matters!

@emeraldduchess putting yourselves first is 💯💯 yes!!

@misshelen86 I'm glad you have a good counselor to work through your feelings. It's so tough to be here, but there's hope for all of us!

@kpearse99 you have such a great RE! Glad they're happy to do the BW to check that this surge is the real thing!

Diagnosis (if you've been): I was told unexplained, my patient portal says MFI. 🤷 Idk what to put here anymore lol

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET 15 days

How are things going?: my mind is like "oh f*ck it's gonna be here before I know it". DH got sick, hope I don't catch it, but I can't resist kissing him on the lips 😬😅

Any questions?: I still feel like I'm doing my IM injections wrong since I've bled both times now. Google tells me I probably nicked a vein in the way in or out and that's why it bleeds a little. It stops quickly and there's no bruising. I probably just suck at holding the needle steady once it's in, right?

I'm also currently accepting tips for things to do before and after FET. Eat salty McDonald's fries right?

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? Teleportation would be good for easy travel, but I'd also love super speed because f*ck house cleaning so if I can make the house spotless in a half hour that would be fantastic!

@inthewoods23 Ahh you are so close to your FET!!! So exciting! I have heard the mcdonalds fries thing too. And eat warming foods (like soup and stew) and wear warm socks. Something about keeping your body and uterus warm. And thanks it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one feeling that crazy IVF anxiety and in most cases it really does seem to work out so that gives me some hope.

@inthewoods23 Whenever I do my own IM injections, they bleed a lot too. I think it's because the needle isn't going in at 90 degrees, even though I try really hard. I never bleed when MH does it. Also, I can't believe you only have a couple weeks to go!!

@ruby696 ok good, now I don't feel so worried that it's happening! I never bled when DH did them. I also never do the check for blood by pulling the plunger back more 😬 I don't have time for that BS, I'm too worried about the needle snapping in my body to spend the time checking.

Thanks @ruby696 DH has a repeat SA next month, if numbers go up we start our iui cycle. Clomid, trigger, iui, progesterone. If his count doesn't go up, ivf will be our next step.

@splashmountain Other than the cost (which is appalling), I found IVF to be very manageable. I was completely intimidated by the process before I started, but found it was really not that bad.

@ruby696 that's good to know! My insurance covers testing but not treatment so if we go iui or ivf it's out of pocket unfortunately.

@splashmountain I agree with @ruby696 I was really overwhelmed and a little scared of IVF until I started doing it. But really it has not been bad at all, not much different than doing medicated IUI's except a lot more shots and monitoring but not nearly as scary as I thought.

@splashmountain I'll echo what @ruby696 and @hanshotfirst77 said. The process seems daunting when you start but it's really not bad to go through!

The injections aren't bad (they're all subcutaneous so it's easy to see where you're injecting). Maybe the first few days of injections are nerve-wracking, but you get the hang of it and inject the meds like it's nothing. I weirdly get excited when it's about time for injections because it tells me I'm 1 step closer to an IUI, ER, or my upcoming FET. And if the thought of giving yourself the injections is too scary, enlist the help of YH or someone else you know!

Also this group has just been amazing for this process! So much support for such a big ask of our bodies

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): waiting on our next appointment with the RE

How are things going?: We have taken a few months break after MH's scare. Trying to get things back to normal and just taking some time for ourselves. But while we have been doing that, time has also been ticking, so I have been feeling the pressure to get back and see where our numbers are. MH has done his initial free SA test, and went in on Friday for his more in depth analysis with the clinic. Results should be in two weeks and then we meet to see where we go from here. However I do not anticipate any improvement on numbers unfortunately. Will see how it goes.

@emeraldduchess I'm also going to advocate for just going for what you want, and don't let "life" get in the way. MH and I did that our entire relationship and something always came up when we tried too much to dance around everything else we had going on in our lives, and somehow we were the ones who suffered. You've been waiting so long for this, you deserve it, work will figure itself out. You've made TTC a priority in every other aspect of your life, this shouldn't be any different. Go all in, girl! It sounds like your heart is in it, now to just wrap your head around it.  
@misshelen86 so glad the counselling is helping, it really does make a huge difference. I'm sorry for passing that "official" milestone, it stings (and stinks). 
@kpearse99 what a freaking rollercoaster of a cycle! I hope your RE is taking lots of notes to try to figure out wtf happened to make things go haywire. Glad you think you finally O'd, I hope your b/w tomorrow confirms that once and for all. (also, as the kids would say, your GIF game is on fleek... did I even use that right? )

@inthewoods23 ohhh I hope you don't get sick. MH was also sick last week and I also could not resist kissing him on the lips on Wednesday (after kicking him away on Tuesday) and guess who got sick Saturday? FX your body is super-charged for your FET and you don't get whatever he has!

How are things going?: If anyone remembers my rant about MH getting the plague last week after I specifically asked him not to go near his sick family, well, I got it too, and have been dying all weekend. I didn't get it quite as bad as he did but I felt like I was dying in a different way. My HR on Saturday was between 120-170 just lying on the couch, normal RHR (not sleeping) is around 85. So I thought I was having a heart attack. I also had extreme nausea, I had a fever/chills, and a headache. Since it wasn't exactly what the rest of the family had of course that triggered my BSC but my stark white BFNs squashed that dream pretty quickly. So now I'm still sick but nursing a heavy heart in addition to still feeling like death. My beta is Thursday but I anticipate AF before then. 

Any questions?: Talk me off my crazy ledge, friends. This illness didn't somehow prevent implantation or anything, right? Dr Google has gone both ways so it's just that I'm IF AF right, and I didn't kill our chances just because I had a fever at 9-12dpiui? 

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? There have been some good answers so far. Teleportation is a good one, or just telekinesis to be able to move stuff without having to get up. Both of which reinforce how lazy I've felt all weekend.

@kiki047 Thank you! Yes I am doing PGS. My RPL is unexplained so my RE recommended PGS testing to give the best chance of success as possible. I know that I respond well to stims (I did on oral stims as well with IUIs) but I think there is an egg quality issue. So I'm hoping I'll get a few embryos that come back normal.

Diagnosis: unexplained

Status: WTO but my body seems to be gearing up for an early O, I already have a line (though not a +) on my OPKs this morning on CD10.

What are you doing this cycle? Nothing. (well besides, you know, having unprotected sex). BUT - we have our initial RE consult on Friday!

How are things going? My mood has been okay this weekend because I have to keep hope that the RE will help us. I'm not sure how I will feel if it doesn't pan out like it does in my head, but at least I don't have to worry about that yet.... 

Any questions? Not at the moment... 

GTKY: I think I have to echo the PPs who said teleportation. That would have such an awesome impact on my daily life, except I'd want it to be like apparition from Harry Potter so I can bring people with me...

@jennifer_louise I'm so hopeful for your RE appointment! Do you normal O early? That's my typical positive OPK timing, and I know it's not common for most people, at least on this forum it seems. 

@kiki047 I'm so sorry you are feeling sick, and that it is causing you extra stress post-IUI. I don't know about having fever and implantation being impacted, but I'm sorry either way, and it's not your fault either way!

@emeraldduchess I have been very upfront with my boss about our IF and told her I would be needing some random times off, depending on what we did for treatment. She has been very understanding, but I still feel weird having to take days off with minimal notice. But as others have said, our families come first!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Got a BFN today at 12 DPO, so I'm anticipating AF will be later this week, and then we'll start our clomid, IUI with trigger shot cycle. I'm ready!

How are things going?: Like I posted in the dailies, weekends are always hard for me. I'm not busy with work, this place is dead, and I just have a lot of time to google/think about all the reasons why I'm never getting KU. It didn't help that when I was reading about people's experience with IUI, they always prefaced it with "our first round", meaning that they required multiple tries, and often ended up pursuing other things down the road. It just feels like the beginning of what will likely be a very long road. And that makes me sad. I know I haven't been trying nearly as long as a lot of people, and that everyone's story is different. But as I keep saying to DH, this isn't even a little bit fair. 

Any questions?: Should I take the whole day off of work for my IUI? I think I don't have to, right? But for those who have done it, what did you do? 

GTKY: What super power would you love to have and why? I would love to be able to shape-shift. I have always wished I could turn into my cats and just curl up in the fun places they find.

@shoogapoff IF is super not fair. I totally get it! I'm sorry the weekends are hard, hugs! And I haven't had my iui yet, but we're 2.5 hours away from our RE so we have to take the whole day off.

@shoogapoff I think my IUI's ended up being on the weekends, so I didn't need to take time off? I mean, physically, you can totally go work. Emotionally, your head will be all over the place and you'll wish you were at home. 

@jennifer_louise Yay for Friday! I hope your RE is great and you have a plan going forward. 

@kiki047 Oh my gosh, your HR being so high is scary! I don't think implantation would be affected unless your core temp was high enough to land you in the hospital (and even then I have my doubts). I hope you feel better soon though and you should definitely be giving YH a hard time. ❤

@shoogapoff nope, I’m not out this cycle so there’s still that glorious chance of a BFP!! I think I’m at peace with the rollercoaster I’ve been on, I’m looking at it as an experience and a chance to really learn what my body has been doing. I’m happy that my RE is learning all of this too about me so we can really come up with a plan that will work! I am curious what he’ll do or suggest for someone like me that’s getting two surges and has the weird thing with the follies happen, but hopefully increasing the letrozole will solve all of that! 

Im sorry you had a hard weekend with everything. I’ve been there, like everyone else, too and it’s a hard place to get yourself out of. I started going down the rabbit hole of reading all these IUI stories and then I decided to just stop and trust in my RE’s optimism of his plan for us. Maybe just trying to trust your REs process will help you too? ♥️
If I can, I plan to take the day off of my IUI, or at least work from home, but it all depends on what day it falls on and what I’ve got going on at work.

@kpearse99 FX this roller coaster ends up being worth it for you, either in the form of a BFP (!!!) or at least some good info for your RE.  I agree that I need to stop googling IUI stories. It's so easy to fall into that trap, but I never walk away feeling better. 

I'm going to try to take the IUI day off it at all possible. It might be a little complicated, depending on which pay period it ends up falling on, but I will make it work.

@misshelen86 I'm glad your counselor has been helpful. I've been wanting to look into something like that too. Did you get on the RE waitlist? I'm sorry about the 12 month mark. It bites. 

@kpearse99 sorry about the wonky cycle! Hopefully you and your RE learned a little for next time (if there is a next time, which I sincerely hope not). Also, amazing gif choices, in particular the New Girl one 😂. 

Ooh @splashmountain will your next cycle be an IUI? I'm hoping mine will be too, let's be IUI buddies! I'm sure I'll have a bazillion questions too...

@nitnat007 now there's an awesome super power I didn't think of! I'd love the ability to eat whatever I want too. I feel like I used to have that trait in my twenties, now, not so much. Good thing I like exercise!

@shoogapoff I usually O right on time (day 14 or 15) but honestly the last couple cycles have been more like CD 13. If I got a positive tomorrow then that would definitely be my earliest day but I guess only by like...one day... So probably not worth worrying over. I'm sorry about your BFN, hugs all around today lol. But so exciting about the IUI!

@jennifer_louise we're doing a repeat SA for H on the 12th so that'll put me too late into next cycle to do my clomid and the iui so not until the following cycle, but hopefully you'll be able to do yours first and can give me all the info and tips 😊

@shoogapoff infertility is the worst. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time. For my IUIs I didn’t take the full day off I was usually able to get away with a half day. But I also work from home. I can see the merit in taking the full day to rest and relax though if you can swing it. 

@jennifer_louise thank you! I’m doing a frozen transfer cause of PGS testing. Part of me is a little bummed I’m not doing fresh but hopefully the time will go by quickly waiting for my FET.
