Update on SO car saga....we got a call yesterday afternoon from the police department. They found his car! But, here’s the kicker....it was found on the ground with no wheels, no tires, the battery is missing, and the inside has been gutted. This weird situation just continues to get weirder. Basically either way from the wreck or the theft it’s we know it’s going to be totaled. Insurance has been notified of the update and it’s really up to them how to handle it from here. We don’t have much information on the criminal side of things except it was found with several other vehicles and charges will be pressed. At this point, SO and I just laugh. It is what it is. 🤷🏻♀️
In other news...we spent the weekend getting ready for baby. We only have a few small things left to get and I’ve gone through and organized everything. Now if I could just get the energy to deep clean the house and keep it that way until baby gets here! My last baby was born at 35 weeks so I really feel like I’m counting down the days of when lo could potentially be here!
@MRDCle@lyse01@mrstmoose@TheSouffleGirl@mermaidca@sheknows6@frenchfrymama thank you all very much, I appreciate everyone thinking of me, my dad, and my family. My dad and I are extremely close and I'm his only child so this is all very overwhelming. When I talked to him last night, the first thing he said was "how are you holding up" and then he argued with me about coming up, but I told him that me staying at home and stressing myself out wasn't good for me or the baby and he said "okay, if it will make you feel, but you don't have to come".
@tumblefluff I just talked to my stepmom and she said that it's been a rougher day. They're keeping him in the ICU for an additional day. She thinks some ribs were broken during CPR and he has been in a lot of pain and hasn't been sleeping. She said they finally gave him something to help him relax so he could actually sleep and she was likely going to duck out for a bit to get some rest and go back this evening to spend time with him once he was awake. I'll feel much better when I actually see him.
I’m a little less stressed now that we finally ordered the car seat today. I finally could afford the clek Foonf that I wanted so bad with DD! We almost have all the necessities for this baby. I think I just need to buy cloth wipes and a spray bottle to wet them. I know my family is going to be mad that I basically bought all the items on my registry, but it was more of a shopping list than anything else. It’s so crazy to think that there is only 2 1/2 more months left!
Now the only stress on my shoulders is my huge exam on Friday that I’m not prepared for at all. I had no time to study the practical portion so I’m going in blind. I have to be there at 5:45am which means my brain won’t even be functioning then. I just want to get it over and done with. At this point I don’t even care if I fail. Im just tired of worrying about it.
@harveyisaboysname - I have been buying lots of things off my registry too! DH and I have been doing a budget challenge and anything left over for the week I spend on baby stuff. I will probably be done with my list soon too.
I did my taxes last night and after all the big stuff was in we ended up owing ~750. I really thought this year we would break even but we usually owe every year and I prepared myself for owing more.
Also I order THESE nursing bras, they came yesterday and they are SOOO comfortable. I just tried it on and didn't want to take it off and for ~$30 for 3 its kind of a steal.

@kosmo86 I get so mad every year because we essentially break even, which I know is the goal. But there are those people who get like $5,000 back and I'm like HOW!?!?
@kosmo86 and @mrstmoose I also just try to break even every year, but my DH has always been opposite. He loves having them take out a bunch throughout the year and then getting a shit ton back, so when we did our taxes together last year (for the first time) he was so annoyed that my taxes made us get back less. He's going to really hate it that we owe this year! I sold some stock but I also put money aside to pay our taxes, too, so it's not really coming out of our pocket. Still. Drives him nuts lol.
@harveyisaboysname: Ugh, it's so hard having to do stuff like that with pregnancy brain! Let us know how it goes.
@kyashley1227: That's so crazy! Hopefully the insurance company will give you a TON of money and the saga will come to an end soon. :P
In other news, baby girl is either having a dance party to a wicked beat or has the kind of hiccups that leave me in (involuntary) tears 'cause they're so fast and hard. They definitely run on my side of the family, oop.
@mrstmoose I started ours and when I put in just my income we were set to get 5k+ back, but when I put in DHs income it dropped over 3k. He was not happy even though we made more last year then any previous year.
I just want to finish my taxes, but I got an email from one employer that the 1099s they sent out were wrong and they’ll send out corrected copies by the 15th. As someone in accounting it’s pisses me off that somebody didn’t check the damn numbers well enough and now I have to wait.
Ive done tax documents, you freaking check, check, and check 5 more times just in case. Nobody has time, energy, or money to tango with the IRS.

@mrstmoose I haven’t changed the number of dependents on the tax forms at work since I started at my company 20+ years ago so we usually get a ton back. I get more taken out in taxes then DH makes for the entire year. In fairness he only works part time.
@kosmo86 what nursing bras did you buy? Mine are from 3 years ago and looking a little worn out. I could really use some new ones!
@tumblefluff I like bravado nursing bras. They have a great range of sizes and styles. I got mine from Nordstrom online. It wasn’t super cheap, but it wasn’t too pricy either. Will order a few more in different styles next month.
@thatbaintforbetty it’s damn lucky you hadn’t already submitted your taxes before getting that email! We’ve already submitted ours. That would annoy the crap out of me.
@mrstmoose we got close to 5k back last year because we bought a house and a few other things. This year it was wayyyy less.
Really random: has anyone done perineal massages, this pregnancy or a previous one? All my books say to start soon but the whole concept is not my favorite.
@sheepshepherdess HELL NO. I know they're supposed to help. But hell freaking no. I didn't do it during my last pregnancy either.
I've been complaining to my husband that I feel huge these days... well I just looked at a picture of me during my first pregnancy at 29 weeks. And yep, I'm WAY bigger now than I was then. I'm pretty sure I'm already as big now as I was when I delivered my first. Plus I'm freaking waddling everywhere these days; the picture I found from 29 weeks with my first I was on a hike! My husband started straight up laughing at that and said I'd probably die if I tried to do that this time around. Pretty sure the baby has dropped because it's getting uncomfortable to walk, my tail bone is starting to hurt, and my hips and pelvis in general just feel like there's a ton of pressure.

That's interesting, @MRDCle. I was thinking of trying it since I ended up with an episiotomy last time and I'm worried I'll be more likely to tear this time... hm. Wonder how much is just hyperbole.
Anyone thinking of drinking raspberry leaf tea? I wouldn't consider if except I had a friend bring me some and a part of me is crossing my fingers this LO decides to come in March and I'll do whatever to help that along, haha.
@sheepshepherdess No, I'm not comfortable touching myself in that area, even if it's for a reasonable cause. The thought of doing it is weird to me. If I tear, I won't blame it on the lack of massages happening down there.
@kangstadt my considerations are to walk as much as possible once I'm 38-39 weeks and do squats now and then. Otherwise, I plan on keeping my mind on the induce-by date rather than my due date to help cope with the possible disappointment of going past my EDD. I say if you have the tea, go for it once baby is full term!
@kangstadt I have considered the tea but haven’t made up my mind yet or bought anything. I was also considering if I wanted to do EPO again. I took it last time and have no idea if it helped or not so I’m on the fence with that as well.

@tumblefluff I'm sorry for your loss and @jlklec19 I wish your dad a speedy recovery. That's a lot to deal with on top of pregnancy. Life has been pretty boring for me. My SO is basically a saint to deal with my hormonal crying fits. I get so upset about things! Also walking and moving my legs in general is super painful my lower stomach and pelvis are hurting so bad!
@kangstadt I have considered the tea but haven’t made up my mind yet or bought anything. I was also considering if I wanted to do EPO again. I took it last time and have no idea if it helped or not so I’m on the fence with that as well.

What’s EPO?
Evening primrose oil. It’s supposed to help ripen the cervix.
@sheepshepherdess thanks for asking about the perineal massage! I definitely remembered that when I was supposed to be sleeping and instead lying awake worrying about things.
Thanks to the STMs for your thoughts... I'm kinda glad to hear that no one is actually endorsing it really strongly (and the evidence of its effectiveness is limited) because I feel like I have more important things to remember to do right now...
I just bought some raspberry leaf tea bags. I heard it helps with labor (easier/shorter). My last two pregnancies I tore during delivery so Im considering anything that will help as long as it doesn't harm the baby. I also heard dates help you dilate quicker but im usually fine in that department, I just don't want to tear again
@snowhite12 I'm not really sure exactly what I read since it was so long ago, but during my last pregnancy I think I read that applying moist, warm heat while pushing, and positioning (upright rather than laying down) helps.
@kangstadt I actually started drinking rasberry leaf tea last night. I start with one cup every few days and then gradually increase to 3 cups a day during my last 1-2 weeks. I enjoy a hot cup of tea to wind down at night though, especially when I limit my coffee to mornings and only one cup. I've read it has quite a few benefits.
DH left for California last night and won't be home until Tuesday. If I wasn't pregnant I really wouldn't care that much but stress is already getting the best of me. He snowblowed the driveway yesterday but of course we got more snow and ice this morning so that means I have to do the heavy labor tonight on top of swim lessons for DD and packing for her and I over the weekend. I'm so ready for this week to be over with and be able to enjoy my vacation next week. I'm over adulting while pregnant right now.
Thanks for the feedback all, I guess I’ll see if I can even remember to do the massages or if they’re too weird feeling in general.
@kangstadt I’ve been drinking a blend with RRL since the 2nd trimester. I’m going to keep drinking that until I go into labor, and then I’ll down a really strong concoction of pure raspberry leaf once we make it to the hospital! I’ve heard all kinds of things. Might try evening primrose oil as well, since dates are now out for me.
@MRDCle yes, completely lacking in motivation, energy, brain power... everything. I have soooo much on my plate but I’m so exhausted. I know I need to finish a ton of work before baby arrives, but I just want a nap.
@mrdcle Yes. One thousand times yes. My doctor said she's more than happy to sign off on papers so I can go on short term disability before baby comes. You have no idea how tempted I am....I'm trying to hold out a bit longer but knowing that's available is making coming into work really dang hard.
Me: 31 H: 36 L & N twin girls: 3yo. Born at 30 weeks. 2 month NICU stay BFP Aug 2018: EDD April 2019
@MRDCle, absolutely. Work has been a struggle, but I can't afford to take off early. I'm at the point where I'm having trouble/pain demonstrating for classes, and it sucks to feel this ineffective.
Ugh I'm sorry you're all also lacking motivation, but at least it's not just me, ha! @mermaidca yesterday my doctor was asking questions kind of alluding to he would write me out, but I really don't want to take time early if possible. I'm talking to my leave representative in about 40 minutes here and I want to just tell her I'M LEAVING NEXT WEEK BYYYE. But I will hold strong and tell her 3/18.
Also, mamas drinking RRL tea (@sheepshepherdess and others) any suggestions on how to prepare it for someone who isn't a big tea drinker? If anything I usually drink decaf mint green tea or chai. I don't really like black tea, which is what I've heard it tastes like.
@kangstadt I was thinking about doing it as cold brew and doing either lemon juice/honey or just straight up adding lemonade to it. If you like mint you could probably let it steep with mint leaves and add some berries to freshen it up.
