@chrssyms Thank you ❤ I'm going to try the ice cubes. It seems that cold is much more bearable than anything room temp, warm or hot. I have been able to eat a popsicle, so there's that.
@luckystar28 I've tried Nauzene (my go to when I'm hungover) but that does not seem to be helping. I'm going to try Vit B6.. any other suggestions other than that? I've been trying some "non-medication" treatments like ginger and seabands, but no luck.
@eleven_ SAME with the craving thread. I went grocery shopping yesterday and it was NOT a pleasant experience.
I also work in a hospital so the smells have been challenging. I've been hiding in my office between visits to settle my stomach. Nothing worse than gagging in front of a new patient.
@wearyfuzzball you can do a unisom/b6 combo for the nausea. It has to be the unisom sleep tabs though not the gels because those have a different active ingredient. I'm currently doing 25mg b6 and half a unisom sleep tab three times a day. If you google it you'll get results for how much to take how often.
I added the unisom/b6 combo to the medicine my doctor gave me for nausea and taking them both together has given me some relief.
@wearyfuzzball definitely stick to super cold. I know I can only stomach very icy ice water. Maybe invest in a yeti/RTIC to keep things cold all day? It makes a huge difference.
@wearyfuzzball my doctor prescribed Diclegis for me. It's very similar to what @runyogamom recommended with the Unisom and B6 combo, except I believe it is an extended release formulation so it can work better for certain people. Just to set expectations, it's not a miracle for me, but it does give me some better days and has improved my nausea where food is tolerable. If you are feeling really miserable, I would ask your doctor. I believe there are some other options as well.
I started taking Bonjesta Friday night and it is finally making a huge difference. I am still queasy but I have not thrown up or had uncontrollable nausea in the last 2 days. I am really hopeful that it is the medicine and not just lulling me into a false sense of security.
Thank you all, honestly. I am so grateful to have a place to come and ask questions and mostly have a big BF. Not to discredit DH as he's been wonderful, but he does not understand like you all do.
@runyogamom Thank you - I have Vit B6 and DH is going to stop and get the Unisom. You take the Unisom during the day as well or just at night? Does it make you groggy during the day? (Or I guess groggier due to this awesome exhaustion)
@ShadeofGreen816 that's an awesome idea - time to pull out my (fake) yeti. It's definitely hard getting uses to because I normally only like room temp water.
@chrssyms I have an appt next Monday so I was hoping to find some relief until then when I could talk with her. But I will deff try the Unisom B6 combo. I honestly didn't realize Unisom was OTC at first.. 🤦♀️
I am jetlagged, woke up at 3am and was hardly able to work (requested from home). I felt totally exhausted and finally took a nap 3-4pm. Woke up and now feel exhausted as well as nauseous. And I have so much work and house work piling up, not to mention that I haven't played with my son in nearly two weeks (trip plus exhaustion). Result: self pity party on the symptoms thread.😆
I am also getting a bit forgetful.... Can't remember if I already posted on this thread or read everyone's posts. Going back now to read...
ETA: Ah, I see I'm in excellent company. Thanks for all your posts - reading them has really helped me feel at least like I'm not exaggerating or making this up.
@marijaa333 welcome to our giant pity party 😉 I think it’s safe to say we are all experiencing our own personal brand of misery right now and finding comfort that we are not alone.
@jhems776 I’m sorry to hear your nausea is back. I’m envious of your break though for sure
i myself had a good day going before that was ruined at about 3:30pm with a good ol’ wretch. Followed by awesome heartburn. I’m thankful for the good hours tho - they were sweet
This is my second pregnancy and my symptoms have been totally different. I basically had none with my first, but this one is giving me a run for my money.
Sore boobs...like so sore I have to wear a bra to bed to prevent the soreness from waking me every time I move.
This constant “hungover” feeling. Nausea and unsettled stomach, slight headache, sometimes dizzy. BLEH!
Intense food aversions. It’s so hard to find something to eat when nothing sounds good.
I take it back, I don't want to feel more pregnant. The all day nausea has kicked in, but gets worse at night. I get the spins when I lie down and the throwing up started at midnight. Room for one more in the pity party?
I hope everyone gets some relief soon. I'm not sure what unisom is, but I'll be asking my doctor for diclectin when I see her next time!
@marijaa333 I can't imagine having jet lag on top of everything! I hope you get some quality play time with your son soon.
I spoke to soon about not having nausea yet. Last night I got SO SICK and had a horrible migraine from hell. Luckily it didn't start in earnest until after I got DS to bed. It probably would have scared him. I went to bed at like 8pm, fell asleep around 9, and DH had to wake me up at 7 because I still hadn't woken up on my own yet! I feel okay this morning so far, but I'm scared because we're going down to RI for DH's grandmother's funeral, and I don't want our families to know yet. I hope I'm not sick the whole time!

The nausea has been hitting me pretty hard. I have been treating it with Preggie Pops (I have a pack that has B6 in it), morning sickness tea, ginger ale, and some anti-nausea mint drops. It’s just not cutting it. I’ll probably have DH get me some unisom soon.
@harrierwife I have been going to the gym lately, trying to at least 3-4 days a week. I have just been doing the sitting elliptical or bike mostly. The nausea just started for me so we'll see how that affects things.
Hi, I'm new here! I just hit 7 weeks yesterday and the nausea is moving right on in and unpacking its bags. My energy levels are very low, but manage to push through elliptical workouts 3 times a week. I go slow, but it's better than nothing. Frequent urination also unpacked its bags and I get up at least 3 times a night, so I'm exhausted. Ready for 2nd tri when I apparently get all my energy back LOL
@harrierwife I waa going to the gym up to this week when the nausea hit hard. I am eating whatever sounds good at the moment, so I know I'm no where near a balanced diet and not in the best shape for working out. I may try to take a walk tonight just to get some fresh air and to move my legs, but I couldn't imagine doing more than that.
@harrierwife If running after my toddler counts as exercise, than I am definitely still exercising 🤣 I’m starting to get hit hard, which scares me a bit. I’m only 5.1 according to LMP (although maybe I ovulated early, I wasn’t tracking) and I barely felt anything until like 6.4 with my first pregnancy. But nausea, that general blah feeling, tiredness, mood swings, comstipation, dizziness, hot flashes.... it’s all starting, and has been since Saturday. I was constantly nauseous with DS from 6.4 weeks until 28 weeks. I thought I had a bit more time to feel good, and I’m worried it’s going to get even worse since it started much earlier this time.
ETA: I lived in Sea Bands (like never took them off except to shower, which was the worst part of my day) my first pregnancy, and I’m almost to the point of wearing them constantly again. I’m also drinking lemon and lime water and putting ginger on everything I reasonably can.

@tuxielove93 Running after your toddler 100% counts!!! Those little humans are exhausting! Sorry you're feeling so yucky. I hope you get a break in 2nd tri this time!

@harrierwife my nausea hit in Week 5, so basically a week after I got my BFP. I haven't really exercised that much other than taking my dogs for a 2mi walk in the mornings. Partly, I haven't worked out because the MS has been so bad I can't eat enough as it is that it can't support hydration and food necessary for the exercise. I keep holding out hope that the nausea will get better and then I can work out. I'm in Week 9 now, so I'm hoping that by Week 13 it will at least subside a bit. I would like to start strength training at least though. I might have to just kick myself in the booty and do it regardless of the nausea.
@chrssyms - I'm at the point where I'm "pushing" through the nausea. I am a regular Crossfitter, but just started back this week after taking the last 3 weeks off because of the fatigue/nausea. I'm greatly modifying everything. I went to go do a burpee last night and almost lost my lunch. The 3 mile walks I take with my dogs in the evenings have been tough, too. I get winded so quickly.
I'm trying to listen to my body, but right now my body is telling me to sleep 20 hours a day and not eat a single thing.
I haven’t been exercising either. Not only has nausea stopped me from wanting to, but I’ve already lost a few pounds because of it, and I don’t want to make a bigger calorie deficit. I’m really hoping to get back into some light exercise as soon as this ms wears off.
I've been MIA because this week's nausea has been so awful that even looking at screens made me feel like I was about it throw up. The thought of eating anything has made me feel pretty gross but I'm trying to get some bland food in me when I can and trying to stick with small bites to eat every few hours. I did get Diclectin yesterday but I haven't taken any because I'm concerned about how drowsy it might make me. I can barely keep my eyes open as is and have been without my coffee since the thought of it turns of stomach so not sure I can handle extra drowsiness on top of all that. I also picked up Seabands and some Ginger candies, mostly because we leave for Disneyland on Friday and I need to figure out something to keep me functional so I'm not holding the whole family back.
@AshleighDB I used to take my Diclectin at night, that way it helped me sleep, and still curbed the nausea in the morning. I can't wait to get my hands on some, but have to wait a week before I see my doctor again!
I think this morning sickness is doing it’s best to out me. I need to take my kids trick or treating tonight and my little sister is coming with us. I really, REALLY dont want her to know yet, but holy Hell, I don’t know how to hide the fact that I feel like I need to puke. I think @harrierwife put it best - my body is telling me to sleep 20 hours a day and not eat anything ever again. This is awful.

9+1 today and omg nausea and vertigo is way worse than it has been. I actually called in sick yesterday and today because I can’t drive. I’m trying to tell myself that symptoms are good, but I am miserable.
6 weeks in. Still early but definitely have nausea, sore boobs, tired, emotional: I cried the other day because deviled eggs take too long to make, and i wanted some premade but the store didnt have any.😄
i have cravings, mostly because i am nauseous when not eating, so i eat all day. I mostly crave lemons, lemonade, Powerade, ginger ale, crackers, pasta, eggs... I dunno, nothing too unusual yet i guess.
I also have cramps here and there, and leg cramps too. And one weird thing is, when i sleep, i am catching myself stretching a lot. It feels like i might have pulled a muscle doing it too. I googled it, and I guess it happens to some women. I read to stretch at night before bed, and it helps, but it didn't stop it. I still stretched quite a bit last night, maybe only slightly less than other nights.
Oh! And frequent urination! Ugh. I have to pee every time I turn around.
I'm 9w4d today and things in the nausea department are seemingly getting better. Today was the first day I didn't have to take b6+unisom and its 2:30pm and I feel fine. I am tired and my lower back is killing me....mostly on the left side. I think I was sitting oddly today or something. Constipation has become a bit of a problem lately so I may start taking a stool softener just in case.
Uhhh nausea is killing me and the vomiting. My parents are coming this weekend and my mom called me to ask if I wanted her to bring me some chocolate covered Michigan cherries. She was just like “oh you go, sweetie, and puke.” Im so over this. I don’t want to feel like this anymore. I just want to feel normal again. I can deal with the sore boobs and the fatigue. I just don’t want to feel so icky all the time. 😭
Its so nice to have all of you in the same boat. But I wish we all felt better!! I’ve been maybe 50% better the last two days. I’ve been trying to do better about drinking more water and eating every couple hours even though nothing sounds good. It feels like a Herculean effort though! I’m so tired and I can’t believe I was tiredness with the first pregnancy when i could nap whenever I wanted! I count the minutes until bedtime when I can finally just veg on the couch until my bedtime! One day at a time ladies. One day at a time....
Oh my goodness heartburn. I rattle like a baby toy when I walk into my office because I have a bottle of Tums with me at all times.
I count myself lucky that I played a rough sport so aches and pains aren’t so bad to me, and a little soreness in my back, hips, uterus and feet (among others) doesn’t bother me too much (please don’t take that as a challenge sweet baby) but the heartburn is awful. I’m burping all the time, hungry all the time but able to eat maybe a handful before I’m full and have even more heartburn.
Had dinner at some friends' house last night with DH. She made a roast with garlic mashed potatoes, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for dessert, and it was soooooo good (which hasn't happened a ton lately) that I made the mistake of getting seconds of the potatoes. HOLY SMOKES THE HEARTBURN. Whyyyyy did I do that?! Have popped a few tums overnight when it woke me up, which helped enough to fall back asleep, but it's still going this morning.
I'm also wondering if I can get away with working from home all day today (usually do about half at home and half at the office) so I can sneak a nap because basketball season starts tonight and without one I'll probably fall asleep during DH's game. What a great wife/employee this makes me.
Also I feel enormous, everything feels tight, but I'm not eating all THAT much (potato fest last night notwithstanding). Even my Pajama Jeans (which I unashamedly still own) aren't doing the trick. Is it tacky to start wearing maternity stuff at barely 6 weeks? If not need to plan an outing today for new pants.
@wearyfuzzball yes, I am taking the unisom (half a tab) twice during the day. Once right when I wake up and once half way through. I can feel the grogginess set in when I take it but it's worth it for me to feel a little less queasiness.
Re: Symptoms of the Week - 10/29
