Re: Symptoms Week of 10/28

  • I made it almost 11 weeks without many symptoms, but my nausea and morning sickness really kicked in last night! Anything and everything sets me off. Grocery shopping was terrible today. Just trying to eat small meals and drink lots of water right now! Hope everyone else is hanging in there!
  • My really bad symptoms are tapering off. I cleaned my house today, and I can't tell if it's just in my head or if it's legit but every time I get up to clean I feel a little nauseous 😂 but other than that I feel okay. I had a headache last night and I really think it's due to lack of protein in my diet. I need to figure out something I can eat to get more in there. I can't stand meat right now. Beans sound gross too.

  • I’m really excited for second tri to get here. I don’t like wishing away time, but I’m over the nausea. I haven’t even thrown up yet so I don’t really deserve to complain 😂 I just hate the feeling.

  • I have this weird pain i have never had before.

It feels like someone punched my ass cheek just below my hip.  It only hurts when i walk and stand.

    Is this a sciatica?

  • @expandcontract I'm so sorry that your experience so far has been so rough. This is your second, right? Was your asthma ever this bad the first time?

@psychobutthead that's what it sounds like. I had it so bad with my son.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds No,  it definitely was never this bad.  Although,  I did have something  else happen to me when i was pregnant with DD..... it was a freak accident,  I fell while walking on a sidewalk and planted my face in the concrete breaking my nose and giving myself a concussion. That's what exacerbated my asthma that time,  but it was only for two weeks.
I would just like to point out that I had never ever fallen in my life before that day.  That's why I'm convinced it was the hormones that made me do it.

  • @expandcontract I totally believe you lol. My best friend has 3 kids. She fell down the stairs at some point during all 3 of her pregnancies. Her last one I was like "do you ever fall when you're not pregnant?" 😂 And she never does. Your center of gravity is thrown off in pregnancy.
  • @expandcontract I swear we are the same person. I, too, have been diagnosed with PTSD. I am so thankful I have had any anxiety induced dreams. So far only very vivid dreams.

I have started the The super fun symptom of heartburn! 🔥 I’ve never had it before I don’t feel like I was missing out on much. I am also noticing a dull, achey pain in my pubic bone. Google hasn’t been incredibly helpful in helping me identify what it is so I’m hoping it’s just sore from lifting my dog Saturday.

  • I’m 12+1 today, and I could be wrong, but I swear I can feel the baby move... this is baby #4, and it’s just such a distinct feeling that I immediately recognized it from my other pregnancies. And it’s more or less in the same spot every time, does that make sense?

Im also starting to get that annoying feeling like I can’t take a deep breath, especially after I eat. And when I do eat, I get full super quickly, like my tummy is being squished by my uterus:( It’s frustrating because I didn’t feel like this until the late 2nd trimester with my other babies. Is anyone else experiencing this? Seems like it’s way too soon right?
  • @siouxieq87 total possible. I'm 13w, working on my third baby and I swear I've been feeling the baby every so often. Just enough to say oh, that felt like a baby! but not enough that I can feel it again and know for sure. I mean, it could also be gas.

No! This sucks it hurts so much.

About protein pick up some premier protein shakes. I like the caramel flavor its great in coffee.  You can also add the vanilla flavor to oatmeal and cereal.

Or get some tuna packs from starkist that are flavored.  I think we can have 4 a week while pregnant.

  • @psychobutthead Mmmm those flavored Starkist tuna packs are so yummy... I had a totally weird preggo craving the other day- I took the Sweet Chili flavored tuna and put it on a bagel with cream cheese! Ate it like a sandwich. Definitely odd but it hit the spot!
  • @psychobutthead tuna sounds so gross 😩 I'll try the shakes though. Thank you
  • I thought I was getting better with the nausea but woke up feeling sick and my normal remedies (cold water and eating a muffin) aren't helping. I need to leave it 40 minutes, still have to do my hair and my son's hair and put my face on and I can't get up. 😭
  • @siouxieq87 STM here at 13+1 and I swear I have felt some movements too for at least the last week! I think it's totally possible. Like @k2k2tog said, I've felt enough to think that's what it is, but not consistent enough to know for sure.

  • @psychobutthead I had similar pain a few days ago.

I still get sick in the mornings (whether I eat or not) but it's much less severe and tends to fade away by 11. So most of the day I'm in much better shape. Still exhausted. Doesnt matter if I just got up I'm tired again.
  • @psychobutthead I’ve started with the sciatica too...I can’t believe it’s here already. I thought my nausea was going away but I felt like barf city today.
  • The gas is ridiculous over here. I feel so bad for my dog who likes to lay tucked up between my legs 😂 I feel like I've become intolerant to dairy, but all I want is grilled cheese.
  • I have been feeling so much better lately but it seems like I have taken several steps backwards today. I am taking dinner to my friend who just had a baby. I bought everything for a bacon and broccoli quiche and put the bacon in the oven. The smell of it cooking is terrible!

  • @chloe97 @siouxieq87 I was just wondering if the little bubbly, butterflying this I just felt was baby. I’m 12+5 which seems earlybaince I'm a FTM and they say usually FTM don’t feel it until 18-22 weeks, but I wonder. I mean, based on ultrasound last week, this little one wouldn’t sit still so it very well could have been. I was just laying still in bed on my back. It also could have been gas. 🤷🏽‍♀️ We shall wait for more and see if they feel like this did.

  • @expandcontract I hope your asthma clears up a bit as you near the second trimester!
@eatinwatermelonseeds I hope your nausea does clear up soon. It's just the pits  I was so worried when my nausea went away, but now it's back full force. I threw up 3x today, once was in the waiting room waiting for our US!

Good luck ladies, and here's to a better 2nd trimester!
  • @mrskoz428 I'm pretty sure I felt my first around 16 weeks. It is definitely rare for a FTM to feel movement super early, but the only reason I can find for that on the interwebs is that STMs know how to distinguish between fetal movement and all the other movement pregnant women experience (ie, gas). Apparently, thin women will feel movement sooner and you are quite thin, so maybe?

  • @k2k2tog that’s what I was seeing, too. I’ll go with gas for now until I feel it again in the same place, but I definitely felt something. Only time will tell. ⏰

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds ooh, I've never experienced phantom kicks. Brains can do weird things too, especially when you're looking for something.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds that would be a total mindf*&^, especially when you're not actually pregnant!

  • @k2k2tog it WAS. Especially with how badly I wanted a baby. It just made it so much worse, because logically I knew it wasn't real.
  • Thank you @knarlytaurus

I've been feeling little kicks lately,  too, which makes me so excited! But then I realize that baby can't possibly be up that high yet and so I tell myself to shut up and sit back down.

  • I feel like if I go into a zen state that maybe I'll feel something but I'm sure it will be awhile. My SIL said she could feel movement a lot earlier with her second since she knew what to feel.
@eatinwatermelonseeds it's crazy how the brain works! That would be so weird the feel something that feels real even though the other part of your brain knows it isn't. It must make this pregnancy feel that much more special.

  • Hello second trimester and welcome heartburn. Ugh. I hope it was the chili and not the beginning of a regular occurrence. I slept propped up and felt better but it was horrid all day.

  • I'm with @eatinwatermelonseeds. I definitely had phantom kicks well past the end of my previous pregnancies. It wasn't super frequent, but every once in a while I would feel one and instinctively put my hand on my belly and then remember that there was nothing in there anymore. This pregnancy, I've been having the "popping bubbles" feelings of first movement occasionally for weeks, but I know it's too early for that (getting closer now, but it DEFINITELY was too early when it started).

With both my other pregnancies I didnt feel the baby until 16-17 weeks (I was disappointed that I couldn't feel my second sooner cause the internet said I would).

  • @lovelybabybumpz yes! I’ve been eating antacids like candy! It’s miserable! I could hardly eat during the day yesterday the heartburn was so bad!

  • On top of the nausea and fatigue, now I have gastritis and strep throat! Wtf!!!!! I was in the hospital all night 😱🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m so over it all, can I just catch a break. Meanwhile i still have 7 children and a husband to tend to. Rant over 🙄😒
  • @isbellwife oh no, that is so rough! I hope your husband and older kids are stepping up a bit in order to give you a rest.

I forgot to take my diclectin last night. I also forgot this morning. But I'm actually feeling ok at the moment? Is it possible that I will be like the majority of women and actually have the nausea and vomiting stop in the second trimester this time?!?

  • Holy heartburn.  I'm already taking zantac twice a day and popping tums like candy.  Anyone else on the heartburn train find a way to bring relief?
