There's only like 5 kids coming to PAC's birthday party. Boo. I was planning on double that. Sucks that none of my friends really have kids his age. And only 2 daycare friends are going, 1 can't go and the other 4 didn't rsvp. Wah.

Don't be sad-- 5 is plenty!!!! He'll have fun, hell, he'd have fun if it was only 1 or 2 friends.

L only had 2 kids at his party and he still had a blast.  It will be fun!

Don't be dissapointed.  This has happened to us before for the kids parties and it still turns out great.  You will be under less stress with less people and it won't be overwhelming for the kids either.  I am sure everything will turn out great.

Also, based on personal experience I would not assume they aren't coming just because they didn't RSVP.  Some people have bad manners.

I understand completely.  I think this is the curse of summer birthdays (my DD's birthday is in July, so I understand).  But I have a summer birthday too and don't ever remember being disappointed with the number of people at my party.  Your DS will have a blast with the kids that are there, and, really, that's the point of the party, right? 

I thought DD's party wouldn't be that much fun this year because not that many kids were able to make it (we rented a place too), but it was so fun.  She had a great time and when it was over, I wondered why I'd stressed about the # of attendees.

I would actually prefer less kids at the Children's Museum.  More eyes for less kids.
