  • I'm sorry but for someone to come up in here and start drama like that is ridiculous. I do not care that she doesn't like it. She doesn't get a say because we HAVE been here. We set up this board the way every other BMB has been set up for years. She can't just start demanding that everything change to fit her preference.

She needs to get her toes wet first before making demands. That was her second post on our board, right? What a horrible way to say hello.

As for me, I'm currently nursing/snuggling DD2. When I picked her up this morning I realized she has a fever. I really hope she isn't super sick. Everytime my kids get a fever I worry about HFM. All three of my littles got that last May and it was so awful.
  • @emeraldcity603 ugh, hfm was AWEFUL. DH got it from DS and was pitiful. Hopefully shes just caught a little bug and it passes quickly. This time of year is always hard with littles.
  • @prpl11butterfly I swear I have PTSD from that. Lol, serisously though, they were sick for almost 3 weeks. My poor DS2 was the worst. His toenails fell off and all the skin on his feet peeled from all the swelling. I also get anxious anytime I start seeing little red bumps come up. That was the first sign along with a fever.
  • @emeraldcity603 hfm is the worst. My last bmb rents a house together for a long weekend. There were 9 adults and 8 babies, all of the babies came home with hfm. DH then got it, he lost all of his finger and toe nails .awful!
  • @dntstpbelieveing I bet the person who came with it felt awful. It took me 3 days to realize what was going on. I had taken DD2 to the dr and he confirmed it after looking in her mouth. Who knows who we infected before I realized what she had. That virus is so contagious.
  • @emeraldcity603 absolutely. I feel like all illness for kids are like "hey I've been contagious for 3 days before symptoms, good luck having friends!"
  • @dntstpbelieveing some people get so angry about you exposing their kid. I can understand if I took them out knowing how sick they were but half of the time my kids get a fever and start showing their first signs after we get home from someplace. I feel bad but there really isn't anything I could have done. I didn't know they were sick when we left home.
  • Okay, am I the I only one who didn't know that fingernails and toenails coming off way a thing until it happened?! Both of my kids are still dealing with nails growing back.
  • @emeraldcity603 I always feel like such a jerk but at the same time I never do it knowingly. DS is in daycare that 3 day before symptom shit always involves at least one day at daycare. I fugre we are just getting all of the crap illnesses out of the way now.

@ruby696 I had no clue until DH was like holy shit look what just happened! DS had it much more mild than DH. It freaky. One of the little in by other bmb has lost their hair from it!
  • They need to develop a vaccine for HFM. My kids would be first in line.
  • I clearly missed the organization post.  Must go find it

Poor DS had HFM two years ago and his first ear infection at the same time.  Poor guy.  It was definitely no fun!

I am in desperate need of some new healthy recipes.  Anyone got a fav?  I can start a new post if that's easier too.
  • @sparklingdiamond today is technically Meal Prep Monday..feel free to start it!
  • I was sipping on my morning coffee, thinking to myself “Maybe I’m one of those lucky moms who doesn’t get morning sickness, that would be cool” and then five minutes later I was losing my breakfast... hubris gets me every time lmao. Hope y’all are having a good day ❤️❤️
  • Check out this cake we one at our neighborhood's Halloween event.

  • So I'm on my computer, which is generally much better for bumping. However, I was playing around on our BMB page and accidentally "dismissed" the Intro thread. Is there a way to get it back? I had no idea that was a thing!
  • I didn't realize that you can lose nails with HFM 😯
  • @kelk5 Yes, its awful. Luckily the new nails grew in at the same time for both my kids, so we just had to keep the old ones trimmed well so they didn't catch/tear. We've had some close calls, but we're almost through it.

@ShadeofGreen816 I have no idea how you would get it back 😂

  • HFM is the devil.  I got it from DS, and fortunately I only had it in my throat, but it felt like I was swallowing glass for like a week straight.

HFM was the absolute worst! My kids had it at the same time and they were both so cranky and absolutley refused to walk anywhere because their feet hurt so bad. I had to carry them everywhere and it was exhausting. Also DS made me cover every sore with band-aids. He was covered with at least 20 of them  :D

I was just thinking about how I would trade a month of my maternity leave when LO is here so that I could use it now. I'm sure that I would regret it in the end, but I feel so sick and would love to be in bed watching Netflix at the moment.

  • @eleven_ That sounds like my DS.  He wants a bandaid for every little scratch or red spot .I had to put like 5 on his foot one day lol.

Oh bandaids.  My little guy loves them too but also loves pulling them off.  Then he is sad that his boo boo doesn't have one and then needs another. He got bit up all the time during mosquito season and would itch the bites open so his legs had band-aids galore, I eventually bought the strong type so he was less likely to pull them off.
  • DS hates bandaid! He also obsessively picks bug bites and he always stops when i tell him I'm getting a bandaid. Though he goes have 1 that I really need to cover because he's now mindlessly picking it.
  • Just a random shout out to Trader Joe’s for their Hot Cocoa Cereal. You guys neeeeeed to get some.
  • There needs to be a law that you're not allowed to loudly eat very crunchy snacks in an open office area.  You need to go to a designated crunchy snack zone so the ragey pregnant lady who sits next to you doesn't "accidentally" punch you.

  • @shamrocandroll I always feel like I'm being too loud eating snacks lol. Especially when I have chips!
  • DD2's fever has gone up to 103. She is so clingy and has pretty much refused all solids and wants to nurse. Which has made me feel super dehydrated. I feel like I can't ever drink enough water so I'm not thirsty.
  • It seems like I have seen several recalls lately for salmonella and listeria concerns.
  • @sparklingdiamond It probably just made me extra angry that he wasn't even remotely trying to be quiet about it, haha. And he was like 4 feet from me. And I was trying to concentrate. And I was kind of hungry. 😂

  • @shamrocandroll Start asking him to share. Maybe he'll start trying to be a little less obvious if he has to give you food a few times!
  • All I can do with the organization thread is SMH. Why is this a problem?
  • @emeraldcity603 right!? So strange. Oh well... people will get tired of one-off threads getting no response or snark? I hope your LO feels better soon!!
  • @emeraldcity603 Its taking a lot of effort to refrain from responding to those posts. Yes, anyone can post anything they want. And we get to decide whether we want to respond to or acknowledge the post.
  • Exactly! They aren't going to get any meaningful responses to these posts. Disregarding the guidelines and just posting a bunch of AW posts tells me that these women don't want to give any support. They just want to come here and have us be there Google. They clearly aren't interested in giving support to the rest of us.
  • I may be a little salty this week. I blame the hormones. 😂
