I have a good feeling this board is going to be very chill. It reminds me a lot of my A16. And we only had two members that went off the deep end after we formed our fb group. 

I actually think TTGP has a lot less drama in the last few years. If you look at a lot of the closed threads under the bump admin, they are from the beginnings of BMBs or the name board. And people posting photos of their pregnancy tests. 

Im totally down for a low key group. I try and post a lot of threads that include the whole group, but I’m also very attached to my pgal ladies for good reason and that’s a connection I need the most right now in first tri. 

But I am loving june this far and can’t wait to get to know everyone who becomes a reg here.

Love the June board so far! And while I wish there were more F17 moms here, I’m happy that certain ones are NOT. My FFWC for the day 😉

I was apart of the M14 (March not may) and it was so over the top snarky that it was not fun to be apart of. When they moved to FB the snark got way worse. To the point the group split off into 2 separate groups. 

My last 2 BMBs since then have been total opposite and completely supportive with minimal snark. It has helped create genuine relationships. I'm glad this board has that vibe and I really hope it stays that way.

@bakerstreetboys Yup... there was a private board made after a couple of regulars got banned for flaming trolls, so one of the regulars created a private board and invited the regulars she knew and trusted who had been around for a while.  Unfortunately, this means we probably missed out on some solid ladies who may have joined later.  @desoky01 I hope you weren't one of the ones who felt left behind!  I stuck around the regular BMB for a bit, but then we pretty much moved over to a FB group because TB was becoming difficult to deal with (especially for those on mobile).  Then we had another big split on Facebook after some drama, but things have been good for about a year and a half since that whole fiasco!

My FFWC is I'm pretty much just here to get to know you all until we all trust each other enough to move this party elsewhere!

@EmeraldCity84 I have a March 14 LO too! I was a lurker in M14 and there was soooo much snark. It made me nervous to participate because I was new to message boards. I remember farmboyswife as being one of the snarkiest!

I was actually afraid to join in at first for my A15 board. But then the mass exodus happened and I dove in. Really glad I did because there were some great ladies there. I'm looking at you @carleym93 😉

Funny story....FBW hated me on our board. We just clashed so hard. During the FB split we ended up on the same FB page and we are now pretty close friends. We have even met IRL. 

Then, one of the other snarkiest posters joined my new BMB and tried to he super snarky and rude to me and when no one joined her she just left. That board was just not a snarky bunch. Our FB page is pretty awesome too. Nothing but a ton of support.

@emeraldcity603 I remember that there were lots of really heated arguments over formula vs. breastfeeding. I really hope we don't get any of that here!

if any of that goes on, I don’t have any problem telling the offenders to hit the door. Being a new mom is hard enough without sanctimommys making people feel bad for choices best for their family.

@eleven_ I don't think I was as active at that point. I didn't actually find the board until 3rd tri and then I didn't actively participate until after our babies were born. 

@meatballs37 those women found anything and everything to gang up on everyone. It wasn't a supportive group at all. Women need the support of other through the entire process, pregnancy and beyond. This is a hard journey.

loved all of this conversation. It is a little intimidating not being a TTGP grad but everyone seems so nice that it's getting easier to jump in! 
I do like how chill this board is so far. I'm supperrrr sarcastic irl but it's a (mostly nice) sarcasm that most people can handle. If it gets to snarky I imagine I'll just be grabbing my popcorn and sitting back. Unless I get really fired up. Like mom shaming. Idc how someone else moms. As long as they mom responsibly let them do their thing!

@runyogamom I'm the same way. I'm pretty sarcastic IRL, but it takes a lot to get me fired up on message boards. Mom shaming is a HARD NO from me. I have this on my IG:

I also had a few people I did not care for on my bmb, not mean just rubbed me the wrong way but on our fb group I really like them.

@desoky01 Aw, I'm sorry.  I'm glad you found your own tribe out it.  It's really hard to make sure you got everyone when things go south quickly like they did there.  Not sure you remember Oakleypoo (our nickname for her), but that was what initiated the split, I think.  A couple of regs got banned for flaming her, and the split was more damage control than anything at that point.  I didn't really lead any of it... I was just along for the ride, haha.  I honestly don't even remember when that all happened now.  But anyway, we're both here now, so yay!

@shamrocandroll Yes! Definitely no hard feelings. It took me a little while to be more of a regular and I know some of the group didn't know me very well.

Add me to the group that's having a bit of hard time jumping in since I feel late to the party! But I'm going to try, bc this seems like a nice, chill bunch. Reminiscent of my May '17 board which was awesome and seriously saved my sanity. I'm excited about this group. It's so hard still when this doesn't even feel like a real pregnancy yet. But @prpl11butterfly those waffles look amazing. I'm thinking I should get myself some McDonalds fries and a slushie on my way to get DD from daycare after work! (FTR I am not having any nausea yet, but it was miserable weeks 6-10 last time... so I'm preparing haha)

You DEFINITELY get to know people in a different way on Facebook. For better and for worse Haha but mostly for the better. I’ve heard some BMBs make the move super early (like mid-pregnancy). What’s the norm around these parts lately?

I prefer to wait until babies are all born.

Tangent: My son was the first born on my old bmb so I would’ve been waiting a looooong time lol. I think there is a 2.5 month gap between our kiddos on my first bmb. I forget when we made the move...maybe like a month before the actual bmb month?

@SunflowerMama428 haha thankfully we didn’t have any crazies move to Facebook. We only invited regular posters though. That hurt some feelings but I think it was for the best

It seems most of the BMBs make the move a little earlier now.

We waited in my August group until all the babies were born and it eliminated a lot of the people who only wanted to post their birth stories and run. It also showed who stuck around and still offered support for those still pregnant. It also made the group much smaller (about 60) which made it a more close knit group instead of chaotic like the early formed group (I ended up leaving that one). 

I also personally like a vote in process for members. We used a vouching system for our A16 group. We elected 3 admins. And if people were interested in the fb group, they messaged them privately and then they posted their sn in the fb group and 3 people had to vouch for them. It sounds complicated as I write this, but it worked great and I don’t remember anyone not vouching for someone. But I think it did discourage people who weren’t as active to not join (which sounds harsh but read my reasoning below). 

Lastly we had a minimum comment cap we wanted for people to join the fb group. I mean if you only posted here on TB like ten times in nine months...you probably won’t be supportive in the fb group. I don’t care to have a bunch of lurkers in the fb group when it is so much more personal. I read about one bmb going to hell when someone decided to report them to CPS! I don’t want a crazy person like that in our group. It’s better to be picky.

@eleven_ I feel like the best way to eliminate lurkers is to have a fb group that doesn’t open until the bitter end. 

I find it so odd when people want to start one so early without knowing anyone. I like to kick back and enjoy TB and all its glory for nine months. We have our whole lives for fb.

I think we moved to fb 1.5 months before our birth month.  I think it was a touch early but I enjoyed being there before the babies were born because I felt more comfortable posting pictures there and sharing exactly what was going on.

I have no problems with waiting until after, but I also wouldn't mind if we did at some point in the third trimester.
