Re: Randoms 9/17

  • I feel like I need a weekend from my weekend. So many activities. I shall do no work this morning, to make up for it. #bumpallday

  • MH works weekends, so DS and DD and I hung out, did some baking, and errands. We're also super exciting people. Lol
  • Our old neighbor friends came to visit on Saturday since they were in town. We had a great time and ended up spilling the beans to them.Β  :# When they moved in, we found out we were both pregnant for the first time, both with boys, and due a couple of weeks apart. Our husbands also both worked for Geico. Now she’s also 32 weeks pregnant with another little boy. Our sons had such a fun time playing, and we all had a good time catching up. I miss having them across the street!

I’m also trying to start a routine of DH, DS and me taking morning walks, so we did that Saturday and Sunday before naptime. I don’t remember the bloating being so bad with my son, but the blump is ridiculous.. anyone else noticing this, or just me?Β  :|
  • @msb615 my blump is so bad and it's super early (I'm just past 5 weeks). I definitely don't think it was like this with DD. BTW, I like your morning walk routine!

  • My work fam insists on waiting to go to lunch until 12:30 and it makes me want to cry.Β

  • @kvh22 Glad it’s not just me. I’m almost 5 weeks, and I don’t see how I’ll keep this under wraps for another 8 weeks or so. I feel like everyone will already be assuming by the time we announce it. Also, the morning walks are great! Me and DH get some exercise, and DS loves being outside and walking/riding in his wagon and finding sticksΒ  :D

@sleepy33 Yesss! Well, can’t say I have abs these days, but my stomach will at least be flat-ish in the morning, but as soon as I eat anything whether it’s a banana or a whole meal, the blump is in full force. And I might would die waiting til 12:30 to eat. Then again, I was like that before being pregnant haha Now it’s just worse because then I get hangry. I also don’t remember being SO hungry non-stop.Β
  • @sleepy33 my goodness by 12:30 i've already had 2-3 meals ahaha
  • edited September 2018
    @cikcikpolicnik haha same here!

Plus one for the blump already making an appearance :D

Saturday I got to volunteer a few hours for my local animal shelter & go for a run, then went out to dinner with DH & DS. Sunday I visited an old friend with DS and then did some errands. I usually work Saturdays but had off so that was nice!Β

Y'all I just cleaned the bathrooms in my house and oh my goodness I should've worn one of those little mask things bc the smell from the toilet cleaner product really got to me & I had to take a break from continuing to clean the rest of the house. I don't think Ill be cleaning my bathrooms again for another 9 months lol

  • We worked outside all weekend and my house was completely neglected. Totally regretting that today. No motivation whatsoever.Β

  • @sleepy33 you poor thing. Stock up on all the snacks.

  • Did almost nothing all weekend. DD1 started junior kindergarten two weeks ago and the weekend after her first week was a DISASTER. Kicking and screaming meltdowns in Home Depot, kicking and screaming meltdowns in the middle of church. So, this weekend, we stayed home all day on Saturday and did NOTHING. We let her have as much ipad as she needed (which, she always self regulates to around 3 hours), encouraged lots of quiet play (yay lego!), and kept our evening simple with pizza and a movie. Sunday, she did great at church, and we had an uneventful trip to the park in the afternoon. Weekend success!

It's book fair week, which means I had 8 cases of scholastic books dropped off this morning and spent all day lugging boxes and setting thing up for the fair. I'm exhausted, but book fairs are always kind of fun, especially toward the end when I get to pick out new books for the library.

Oh man, if left to my own devices, this is totally me. Outside will be landscaped to perfection, inside will be dirty dishes a foot high in the sink and no clean clothes lol. Whoops.Β

  • @sleepy33 I’ll admit, when I opened up the case that was full of Christmas stuff, I was really tempted to wheel it into the non fiction stacks and hide it there. I am not ready for Christmas!

you gotta make hay while the sun shines, soon the weather won't be good for working outside. That's what I tell myself anyway. Probably why I was out picking the last few potatoes of the season when I went into labor with my October 2013 baby.

  • My 2 year old is trying to climb back inside me, I swear! Her daycare is closed this week, so she was home with Daddy today. She is always extra clingy after those days, because she is such a Mommy's girl. It's nice to be loved, but I'd like to have a little breathing room.Β

@vivereidescent what kind of cleaner do you use? We use Method and it helps with the intense smell situation. Still not a great smell but definitely feels less like sniffing up every chemical ever.Β

We visited my family and got a date day to ourselves Saturday. Yesterday we unpacked, did laundry, and cleaned our place top to bottom. I’m so glad we did that because this is a busy week. I had my first therapy appointment for birth trauma today and it went well, DS had an OT appointment that also went well, and we went grocery shopping which sucked but it’s over. H got dinner going in the oven and is doing DS dinner/bath/bed.Β

  • @sleepy33 yes to the blump as well (not sure if mine falls in the category as this is my first pregnancy) but I definitely look at least 2nd trimester at night and flat as a pancake in the morning! My β€œbump” pictures look great though! Haha.

I spent most of the weekend watching football, napping, and grading papers. It felt great to take some naps all weekend. The in laws came Saturday to hook up the water in our fridge so now I’m a hydrated mama, which is much better than what I was pre-pregnancy! Happy Monday, all!

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I’m so glad your first appointment went well! Good for you recognizing you needed to talk to someone. I hope it helps.

@k2k2tog Sounds like a much better weekend with your DD! You knew just what she needed. Fingers crossed it’s all smooth sailing from here.

Poor DD has 4 molars coming in right now. She’s taking it like a champ though. She’s been extra sleepy lately.. wondering if it’s due to her walking basically all day now. I can’t temember the last time she crawled! Ahh my babyΒ  :'(

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @DuchessOfCambridge I used Clorox with bleach :# and I used it all over our showers too, which is why it became so overwhelming. Definitely need to look into that Method brand & avoid products with bleach going forward!

@secicc12 my son is also going through a rough teething period lately, it's awful. How old is your daughter?
  • @vivereidescent I actually started using it because of my cat  before DS was born he would follow me around while I cleaned and stick his face everywhere, so I didn’t want him stepping in something and licking bleach.Β

  • @secicc12 We tell daycare DD has been fussy b/c of teething pretty frequently but at daycare she's so distracted she barely notices (also, she freaking loves daycare). I thought she was particularly fussy this weekend and felt an odd sense of relief that they said the same thing when DH picked her up today.

  • @vivereidescent be careful with that stuff.Β  My family recently switched to natural ingredient based cleansers (Maleleuca brand) for this very reason.Β  I have asthma and have become extremely sensitive over the years.Β  When I was pregnant with my daughter, I never could do cleaning with any chemicals. My husband did all of it. Same thing is going to happen this time,Β  too. At least that's one thing I have to look forward to.Β  πŸ˜„

@k2k2tog I went to Costco today and they had their Christmas trees up!! WTactualF? It was 91Β° here today.Β  Haven't even passed Halloween,Β  yet!Β

Im feeling loads of guilt,  lately.  DD loved going to daycare.  We pulled her out because it's so damn expensive and we're trying to save for a house.  So now,  MIL watches DD. Lately though, she's been watching so much more tv and i hate it. But i also understand why my MIL lets her.... because DD gets bored in this tiny little apartment and otherwise starts climbing onto dangerous things and such.  It just makes me so sad.  My husband tries to comfort me by saying that it's only short term and we're ultimately trying to save money to try to give DD a better life in a house.  I know,  but still.....😭😭😒😒

  • @expandcontract mom guilt sucks. Huge hugs! Your DD will be fine. I'm not a huge TV/screen time fan either so I get it, but there are so much more educational shows available now that it's not necessarily a bad thing especially for short term. ❀️

    Btw, I love your screename!

  • So I just TrueCar’d some minivans about an hour ago and already have 4 missed calls from dealerships.Β  :# I just wanted to look at prices - we won’t actually be ready to buy until December. Oops.Β

  • @vivereidescent She's 14 months! I'm sorry to hear your son is going through some teething pain, too. How old is he? WILL THIS EVER END?Β  :D

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @secicc12 he's almost 18 months and has all but the back set of molars which are coming in a bit early I guess. I'm just not sure how many yet bc he won't let me see back there haha He woke up twice the other night screaming around 10 & 3...he was a champ for all his other teeth, but these are definitely more painful for him
  • How is it tuesday already?

I feel like the weeks are flying by.Β

I'm so tired and I just don't want to eat.Β
