All the things. My pregnancy cravings lean toward the drunk frat boy side. I can’t get enough buffalo wings, pizza and nachos. I typically get morning sickness from 7-12 weeks so I’m guessing I’ll be living on fruit and dry toast starting next week.
Beautifully planned meals are out the window. Managed to hold down a bagel today, and so far the bowl of pasta and wilted kale is still in my tummy. We will see if that lasts.
@missmcgonnagal yes this exactly. I actually meal prepped for this week (or I should say DH did most of it) and I have been able to enjoy none of it...toast, bagels, crackers and other variations of bread are it for me
Oh man, I keep trying to read this thread, and it keeps triggering my nausea. I keep comin' back for more though! Someday maybe I will be able to actually read about what y'all are snacking on.
Finally feeling a little better today, so I made my apple crisp smoothie for breakfast. Trying to crawl back on the 'nutritious food for the baby' train.
You know you're pregnant when...you eat leftover Kraft mac & cheese at your desk at 10:30am bc you have to give a presentation during a working lunch (of which you won't get to eat), so that you don't start to get sick in front of everyone.
@GeorgiaGirl1230 Mac & Cheese for the win! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Mac & Cheese and Chicken rice soup are about all I can stomach right now. I have nausea all day. 🤢 My foodie coworkers are silently judging me I think... 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I brought hard boiled eggs and a bag of deli turkey to stash in the fridge to tide me over since I tragically don't go to lunch until 12:30. #acceptingT&P'sformylatelunchtime
I'm so jealous of all the yummy things you all crave. I crave nothing when I'm pregnant. Nothing sounds good, even though I'm not nauseous. MH asked what I wanted for dinner tonight and I was like, "meh, whatever." His response: "We're already at that point?" Lol
For everyone that has been talking about soup, I had some broccoli and cheddar soup (and half of a chicken salad wrap) for lunch, and it was heavenly. It may be 90 degrees outside, but it hit the spot!
I’m all about the soup right now too. Made chicken mushroom wild rice soup last night. It was soooo good and have tons of leftovers. Hopefully I don’t get sick of it.
Anyone else here here obsessed with cooking with the instant pot? I love it, and most of what I’ve made turns out excellent!
@jkduer@thismustbethemom I was a vegetarian/wannabe vegan for a few years until I became pregnant with DS, then I wanted to eat chicken quesadillas every day, among many other things lol Anddddd that hasn't changed, pregnant or not. I just ate a chicken quesadilla and a bean burrito. I also want all the pizza. I like, really want a big slice of pizza right now...and after reading the above I want soup now too!!
@thebobloblaw Your soup sounds yummy! Did you make it in the instapot? I have one and have been too intimidated to use it. I don’t even know where to start with it. I thought I could throw my food in there and press a button and it be cooked. Once I started reading about slow releases and hard releases, I wasn’t feeling too confident! I’d love any tips and easy recipes! I’ve heard they make life much easier, and I’m all for easier!
For dinner tonight I'm thinking chicken lazone (in my instant pot!). I originally wanted to do homemade pizzas (caramelized onion mushroom spinach feta on white beschamel sauce, and a margherita) butttt I definitely needed to start that earlier for them to have enough time to rise. I'm already starving.
@DuchessOfCambridge ughhh I need to get an instapot I keep hearing amazing things and I feel like I’m three years late to the instapot party. Also those pizzas sounded like they would have been amazing but girl I get it when you have to eat you have to eat.
@aels12 I just ate 4 bites shy of a pint of Ben&Jerry's - no shame!
@msb615 I agree with @thebobloblaw - watch youtube videos. My MIL bought one for us b/c she loves hers. She told me to take it home and just put a cup of water in it, let it come to pressure, and release it...that the biggest hurdle is the fear of that part. I did it and used it every day for like 2 weeks. Now it makes less of an appearance but I just used it the other day to make lamb meatballs. You can do baked sweet potatoes or regular potatoes as a really easy first attempt at something. My last BMB had an instant pot recipe thread which was amazing!
@thebobloblaw and @kvh22 I’ll have to watch some YouTube videos. I joined a fb beginners group when I got it, but it still seemed to be a bit advanced. That’s a good idea about bringing a cup of water to a boil. I’ve also heard boiling eggs was a good thing to start with. Lamb meatballs sound delicious! Not that I have much to contribute, but I would like an instapot thread if there was enough interested!
Re: What My Pregnant Self is Eating
H made a delicious quiche for dinner and now I’m very much wishing I had a chocolate chip cookie.
