@k2k2tog - Oh man... a colleague gave me a moon cake and said "They're an acquired taste but you just might like it." I took one bite and spit it out in the trash not for me. Something about 3 solid egg yolks really wigged me out.
I went to Chick fil A last night and ate a chicken sandwich, most tasty. I ordered a milkshake because I was convinced I wanted it. I took a couple spoonfuls and stopped eating. The sugar was making me sick. It's a real mind-effer because I normally LOVE sweets. But when I eat them now they taste so bad it's like eating paper. Just gross. But hey, of all the aversions to have this is pretty excellent because I probably shouldn't be eating tons of sugar with my history of gestational diabetes.
Oh, and I made myself a hot pocket later last night and my wife side-eyed me and asked "Second dinner time?" Yes. I require two meals in the evening now.

SO side-eyed my 9:00 ramen noodles the other night. He about got a Hertz Donut.
I work for a university, in the residence halls, so one of my perks is I get $50 a week in dining points so I can eat at work. This is a relatively good thing and it's always been a nice bonus but this year - as luck has it while I'm preggers - they added a fabulous feature that's made my quality of life improve significantly.
Our student union now offers a lunch deal where local restaurants bring in catering and you get to choose your entrees and sides - and they are among the *best* restaurants in town, IMO. It rotates every day for 5 days and includes my favorite Indian restaurant, my favorite Mediterranean restaurant, my favorite Cajun restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, and Greek restaurant (last 2 aren't necessarily my favorite in town but 3/5 ain't bad). And I get to use my dining points to eat there! Life is great! My pregnant self is always super hungry and this is a dream for me. I ate a huge plate of chicken and lentils with rice, tomato/cucumber salad, fresh bread, and some kind of delicious cilantro sauce for lunch and it was heeeeeeeeeeeaven. This is from a restaurant I usually have to dine at alone if I want it because it's too "weird" for my wife.
Earlier today I ate a chocolate doughnut with salsa... It was so beyond good. I'm 8 weeks with twins and I look like I'm 5 months along already. All stiff baby belly, I don't know why I'm so big but man oh man I'm just craving all sorts of bot good for me food. Giving in a little here and there but trying to eat good most of the time.
After watching This is Us and seeing Kate eat a pop tart I have really wanted one. So I bought some and I introduced my kids to them. They are very confused as to what they were and why we where toasting it. Haha. One likes like it and the other scrunched up her nose.

I just want to eat a turkey sandwich but there's the stupid pregnancy thing where you're not supposed to eat deli meat. Stuff says to heat the meat up, but then I have hot turkey and won't that taste different? And if I let it get cold again aren't I just risking food poisoning? I'm hungry!

Just eat the meat. You're far more likely to get listeria from lettuce than deli meat. For the record, though, letting it get to room temp isn't a food safety risk unless you wait like 2 hours at room temp, and even then the risk is low. Live your life, girl, eat that meat.
First and foremost I find myself having to eat every two hours in order to keep the nausea away, if I find myself hungry I am in nausea hell. I am constantly eating and I hate it.
Having said that I am craving almost everything. Today I am craving Mexican food in particular queso dip. Because I live in the north, it is very hard to find in our Mexican restaurants. It makes me miss the south which cornered the market on good tex mex. We have a restaurant I love to go to but its in Harvard Square which is super busy on a Friday night in the fall, so I can't go tonight, but I gotta have it. Is it wrong to go there after school (we get out at 3:05) and just order some for myself and get it to go? I am going to do it. I don't care. Queso and empanada's are happening. DH and DD are on their own tonight.

Treat yo self. Queso and empanadas are never wrong.
My pregnant self just woke up and munched on crackers in bed for the first time to stave off the nausea. Hoping this helps! 🤞....part of me feels like I will become a whale if I do this often though 😂
I've been eating poorly. I think I might need to put myself on a healthier diet. But if it's healthy, it sounds gross and I want to vomit. If it sounds good, it's probably 1000+ calories and covered in cheese.
@eatinwatermelonseeds Same! I want all the greasy, cheesy, buttery, fatty things and want nothing to do with the healthy choices. I’m trying to be good, and not overindulge but it’s been nearly impossible.
It’s my birthday today and dh made me a pumpkin caramel version of better than sex cake. I’m currently sitting at the counter eating it out of the pan!

@ibanezstarburst I totally forgot about cinnamon toast. My mom used to make that for us all the time. So good!
I made this pineapple fried rice last night that hit the spot. I felt somewhat less guilty eating a whole bowl since it was homemade and not takeout.
@secicc12 yes! My mom used to make it to. It's so amazing.
