Wishful thinking about fall over here anyway. It’s going to go from 90 and miserable to 30 and miserable in a span of a month probably between October and November. We don’t even get a great fall anymore.
I just walked down and back up 2 flights of stairs to change the laundry and I am seriously winded. It’s too damn early for that - pregnancy wise and today wise.
@cmjenkies definitely wishing for fall over here too. We typically get a nice fall mid September through mid November, but as soon as we got September 1 I want cool temperatures. Painted my nails navy and made pumpkin coffee this morning, only to sit in the ac because the high today is 90.
I also can’t stop thinking about fall decor. We’re moving the first week in October, so I have to wait until then to put my mums in which feels like plant lady torture.
We've been in hot and muggy land here in Chicago all weekend, with some strange upside down world where the rain doesn't seem to cool things down but just make it more humid. I bought so many lovely maternity sweaters. I am ready to wear them!
My random for this morning though is that I definitely appreciate the formatting of this group's boards, having spent a lot of time on another app the past month. I now am thankful for a world in which there are not 85 or the same question specific posts that dissolve into the same battles every time that make it feel like it's online Groundhog Day! #bless
Agree! I was lurking in some of the other bmb's and some of them are a hot mess. I'm glad we had some people here who started us off in an organized manner!
Currently sitting in bed eating candy corn and looking at pot roast recipes. I, too, am eagerly awaiting cooler weather!
@sjnsjnsjn we are getting the same Midwest weather as you, the rain just won't quit and it is SO humid. I am so ready for sweater weather. And I've been craving hot chocolate but it's too muggy! Life is hard sometimes
Decided to do 20min on the bike for the first time.. took it easy. CMe upstaira to sit in bed to finish my show, hubby is curled up with my purple pregnancy pillow craddling it in his arms asleep and tucked in his knees.
Whos pregnant?? I did get a good pic to tease him with on his bday tomorrow..
I’m dying for cooler weather. It’s actually a tad less humid here today but we won’t have any sort of cool weather until late October/early November if we’re lucky. Even then it only lasts a few days. I’ve even had hot upper 80s Thanksgivings. Yay south Florida never ending heat.
Is anyone opposed to me starting a “come out of the shadows” post for lurkers? I feel like now that we’re (all?) solidly in 2nd tri that more girls have likely joined and are too scared to be active. We are a super organized board, and I think it may be helpful for there to be a clear spot to join in
I’ve been ready for Fall weather since I found out I was pregnant in early June. Fuck this heat. End already. Let us layer up and work on some Fall maternity looks jk, I live it stretchy pants and T-shirt’s, but I can dream.
yes I think it would be really nice to lure out the lurkers! Flame free thought please: but I’ve wondered if some of the snarky replies to random stragglers has intimidated less seasoned newbies. Might be nice to invite them into the waters.
@danixbanani24 sorry you’re at a wake this holiday weekend. That sucks, everyone deserves a relaxing long weekend.
My weekend random, grateful for the long weekend but still waiting for my final amnio results so eager for tomorrow and Wednesday. My genetic counselor will be getting some follow up phone calls and hopefully pushing the lab for results. She did it for us once, hoping I’m not pushing my luck with incessant harassment.
I love that idea, @BourbonBiscuits! I agree with @ssag that our snark can be intimidating (though tbh it's one of my favorite things about this group so let's not stop please), so a "hey, we know you're out there and want to meet you" thread might be fun, with some gtky icebreakers.
Love the idea @BourbonBiscuits. I'd say that anyone who's been lurking for a bit probably knows by now whether they like the vibe here or not. I get that not everyone has time to be active but it would be nice to know who's out there!
I think newbs/lurkers could definitely be intimidated by the snark! I definitely would be, and I’m pretty sassy myself. Once I get my sweaty ass up from this nap and get on my computer I’ll start it lol
It's 93 degrees here today. Sooo ready for fall weather, although I'm already tits deep in all of the pumpkin spice flavored things.
Yesterday we were obligated to head over to MIL's at a prearranged time. She showed up 45 minutes late and then had the audacity to text me later, "sorry our times were off!" Ummm, no. "Our" times weren't off. You were late, so either say "sorry I was late" or just don't bother texting.
Yes to fall weather! I'm normally 100% a summer person, I love going to the beach spending time outside in the heat, but this year I've NOT been feeling it. Of course, this has been the hottest summer in both of my homes (Oslo and Seattle), so it's been extra fun. This past weekend has been perfect, 70 degrees and a slight breeze, so I've actually spent time outside! Yesterday we went to the park (I'm fortunate enough to live right next to my favorite park in Seattle), and it was so great.
Also agree with the newbies! I realize I've probably been pretty harsh on some people. If you're a lurker and reading this, you're doing it right, but don't be scared of posting! Please join in!

When I opened this post last time, for some reason I couldn't see half of the replies. I like the newbs post idea, as long as they know I don't want to see their ultrasounds or naked bumps in that thread haha.
@grebretso I am so with you, normally I feel like I am clinging onto the last of the warm weather but this year the cooler temps can't come soon enough!
And I agree with everyone else about the newbie thread, it would be cool to meet more of the ladies on this board.
Oh. My. God. You guys. I decided to try on my maternity leggings for the first time, and now I don't think I will ever take them off. Why did I wait so long??

The only thing I've done all weekend is eat and laundry. Plus the majority of the laundry is still sitting on the piano bench. My husband is cooking steaks, letting DD be his helper, and hasn't shamed me once.
Welllll there’s this big horse race in my city the first Saturday in May (called the Kentucky Derby) and the drink of choice is mint juleps. We drank far too many mint juleps (and then just bourbon neat once we ran out of mint) at a party at my moms house. Aanndd poof! Baby!

Today is the wake for my aunt...I hate wakes I think they are archaic and a stupid ritual. Can’t wait to sit there for four hours...
