  • Anyone able to hear baby’s heartbeat with a stethoscope yet? I hoped to be able to but so far nothing :(
  • @megpants209 We've tried, but no luck. I'm 16w5d, and I've read that it's possible to hear the heartbeat with a stethoscope around 20 weeks. So I'll impatiently wait until then!
  • @grebretso @PurplePoppy424 oh, all the love and sympathies as we watch the money we don't even have fly out the door to medical expenses  :'(
  • i need a little sympathy. My wedding ring is too tight on my finger and I barely got it off this morning! YIKES
  • my bump made it's first public appearance yesterday, one of the few colleagues that knows im expecting pulled me aside and told me she could see it when I was sitting  at my meeting and it wouldn't take long for people to figure it out if it kept popping out like that. :D   Guess next week is when I tell my two teams :#
  • @ohsunnydays I need to get a silicone wedding band for DH because his finger size fluctuates way too much and now I'm thinking I should probably get one for myself too. It's definitely getting snugger!

I'm with you! I took mine off last week because the humidity was killer and I could tell it was getting tight.

All of you ladies with tight wedding bands: go with what @becks_726 is thinking and try Qalo! Or an off-brand Qalo!
They're silicone and stretchy and come in all sorts of colors and designs. I bought one last year for weight lifting, and it's so much more comfortable than my wedding band and engagement ring. I switched to wearing the Qalo exclusively once I got the BFP, because I do not want to have to get my wedding rings cut off when my fingers inevitably swell a bit.
I would suggest ordering from Amazon, if you have Prime, because I had to order three different sizes to find the one that fit me best. Free returns was very nice for that. Alternatively, REI and I think Dick's carries them, so you could always go there and try them on.
  • @becks_726 I haven’t worn my wedding ring in a month. DH makes a snarky remark about that every time we go out.
  • I have known some men that were worried about their wedding band falling off, who have a tattoo wedding band.
  • I like to pick on DH for not wearing his, @conchispita! Poor guy has had it resized so many times but between weight fluctuations and temperature changes, he can't find a size that always fits.
@disneybaby84 pretty sure DH has considered that but I think we'll try silicone first.  Seems like a bit less of a commitment :D

My H and I have Qalo rings too and we love them!!
  • @becks_726 thanks for the idea!!!
  • Guyssss. I told a girl I work with that I’m pregnant. Her response? “Ohhh good! I’m so happy for you. I was really wondering if maybe you were just going really hard on the desserts because I know you have a sweet tooth...”  :|
  • @megpants209 omg fuck people, honestly. When it comes to women's bodies all politeness just flies straight out the window!
  • Who says sheit like that?! Omfg
  • @megpants209 you should have said “I was wondering the same about you...”
  • That is so mean! I can’t believe what people think is ok to say to others. She needs to get her head out of her ass!
  • @megpants209 , how about a "here I thought you were nice, didn't know you were a bit*h".. or something along those lines....to her o:)
  • @megpants209 what kind of rock has she been living under that makes her think that is appropriate?!

People are nuts- I had a dental appointment today and both my husband and I have seen the same hygienist over the years.  I told her I was pregnant to not have the X-ray, and she said “How exciting!  I can’t wait to see pics, I love mix race babies.”...
  • @casperthefriendlybeeb this was my exact reaction. And coming from a half Mexican...
  • @casperthefriendlybeeb- WHA THE WHAAAAA?  omg it must be horse's a$$ day.
  • Omg @casperthefriendlybeeb. I hope you looked her straight in the eye and said “I prefer pure raced babies myself” to show her how ridiculous that sounds!
    DS born 2/18/2019
    DD born 4/1/2023
    Baby #3 EDD 11/21/2024
  • Good lord, some of y'all know some ridiculous people who have no filter.
  • @casperthefriendlybeeb is my MIL your dental hygienist? :#
  • @casperthefriendlybeeb yes to this! I am usually pretty good at witty banter and spontaneous sass, as you call it. But I think the sheer shock of what some people will say to pregnant women puts my brain in "wait...wtf did you say" mode. My rude co-worker now just gets an dead blank stare when she says something moronic, because I am too tired to waste my brain effort on her...lol
  • @casperthefriendlybeeb it is the day of shitty comments!!

     Takes all kinds I guess...
