Thanks I'm happy I found something that works. Now we gotta figure out what ODD is going to be wearing because we usually let her pick her outfits and so far she's been picking out there things lmao

I’m thinking its my apple selection since I wasn’t aware it made that much of a difference! On the few occasions I made apple pie I follow a recipe from google with good reviews so it seems to work fine for everyone else! I bake it right after I make the filling. Even if it’s spike now I want one!
I’m just checking in to say I’ve had a really hard time keeping up lately! Especially with both this and the FB group. I’ve been lurking though and dreaming of pumpkin pie and doing my kegels.
ETA: TB cut off half of my post (I think because I had an emoji in there...)
I had also said that I’m feeling anxiety about being away from work now (despite fighting for this and it being what I want!) Mostly I’m scared because this field moves so quickly and I’m worried about how much I’ll have to catch up when I’m back. Also they found someone to interim supervise while I’m gone (that’s actually a good thing!) but it’s mskung me feel insecure for some reason. I just feel like it will be hard to come back.
My breast pump was delivered last night. I wasn't expecting it for a few more weeks. Definitely made me feel like I'm running out of time to get things done!
@nmadjeski It just hit me how close October is a couple days ago. I have so much to do still and I’m pretty sure it won’t get done, just like last time - hospital tour? I’m sure somebody will tell us where to go when we get there.
@rabtaido1214 what kind of apples are you using? If everything else others suggested is good, it is most likely the apples.
@nmadjeski and @purplegoldfish2 Samesies! I was pretty laid back last time, but even more so this time. We the tour last time but I had no idea what to do when we got there. Thank god DH did and there are a 1,000 people to tell you where to go.
The problem is I am hoping for no epidural and have done absolutely zero to prepare for the birth. I really need to get to the library and get some books. We never took the childbirth class last time & it didn’t matter too much since it was a c section, but this time I’m hoping for a VBAC. Many local moms have said none of the hospital classes are worth the time and the private classes are not really in our budget right now, so I really need to do something.
@purplegoldfish2 I did absolutely zero things to prepare for a no med/no intervention birth. Lol I just figured, when the time came, I'd figure it out! And that's what we did. I listened to my body, moved myself around into any position that was the most comfortable. I had horrible back labor, so counter pressure (I believe that's the word) into my back during contractions was one of the biggest things that helped. Honestly, the most helpful thing was told to me by a nurse that checked me that morning. She said if you are really sure that's what you want, have your partner help hold you to that, and find something to focus on. Put all of the energy from each contraction into focusing on that item. And when you get to push, use the pain and wneegy from the contraction to help you through it. Sounds silly and super simple, but it worked wonderfully. There was a clock at the end of my bed and that was my focus through contractions once I started pushing. (Before that, I found turning to my right side/on my hip while someone added counter pressure to my back during a contraction and focusing on mine and DH's hands wrapped around the bed rail was most effective for me.) I found those points at every contraction, and it helped keep me focused. Also don't fret about changing your mind on things during labor. I was convinced I would want music and to be up as much as possible. But we had a completely silent birth and I moved a lot in the bed but didn't get up (except to pee.) Just try to go with it, and do what feels right in the moment! We were able to be completely med and intervention free like I had hoped we would be able to do, and hoping to do the same again.
@jomama1618 ahhh that makes me feel so much better. like @purplegoldfish2 I want a med free birth, but haven't done a whole lot to prepare. I've read a few books, and try to practice relaxing techniques whenever something hurts (charley horse, DH massaging my IT band, etc....), but that's about it.
I swear we had a freezer meal post but I can't find it! How many different meals are people planning to prep for their freezer for after baby? Trying not to overdo it but I also want variety as we get bored with food easily if we eat it too often.
You guys...my "baby" cousin (23 years old), whom i adore, was visiting this weekend and asked me if i was planning on breastfeeding. the reason for her question, though? because my breasts are not as big as her sister's were when she was this far along. like maybe i had just not turned on the milk switch because we were going to go with formula?! i laughed so hard and then as gently as possible explained how it actually worked. she was able to laugh at herself and just said that she never knew and had not really thought it through that far. even our older sons were looking at her like she was crazy and they are 12 and 10.
@KFrobI sort of understand. Our closing date is 6w pp. But there's a bunch we'd like to do before moving in... that I've recently accepted I can't do (like paint the entire house.) Either that or be late for a day after closing... and make your family move you while you're in the hospital? Yeah... punctual would be better though.
@chyvie We're going to over lap our rental with the new house by about 3 weeks so we can move over that period of time thank god! @Mylitta That's the time line I was hoping for and it's all happening faster than expected. I'm so nervous about being in labor or in the hospital on the closing day! But the agent reassured us if we needed to push it back a couple of days for an emergency like that we could. I need to be the same way and accept that I can't do much to contribute. It's so hard for me to sit back and not be able to paint or move boxes! This is throwing all my nesting spread sheet lists out the window! So exciting and stressful at the same time!
@rabtaido1214 only because B lives in my damn ribcage and most of the time I feel the hiccups it's down low(: for the most part I can tell whose who which is fun!
Mom wanted me to buy some cloth diapers I wanted for my shower this weekend so she had me order them and darn Amazon registry completion discount order shipped them to me. So I offered to wrap them. I tied them up in the receiving blanket they came with and it has these adorable dinos on it! I am bummed I thought the diapers were double gusseted but they aren't. Oh well, they were cheap so one way to try this crazy journey out. I may still stuff this bundle in a gift bag to make it cuter as I just can't be cute right now.
So it's definitely possible to pull a muscle directly underneath your boobs (right where the underwire of a bra sits essentially) if you sneeze just right... ow.
Started back at the Chiro today to get my hips all lined up and ready for birth!!! Since I'm 35 weeks I have a little bit more time to hopefully squeeze 1-2 more appts in before labor. I feel so good today!
Next week is officially September (AH!) and many of us will soon be on weekly appointments if we aren't already. I was lurking September BMB and they've been doing a weekly appointments thread instead of the ticker change threads. I really liked the format so just thought I'd see if people would like that? The weekly appointment thread could replace the weekly ticker change threads, starting next week.
Pretty soon we'll have appointment updates on dilation, effacement, inductions, RCS, stretch and sweeps etc. It might be nice to have one place to put it all and be able to keep track of everyone in one place?
The Bouncing Babies check in will slowly gain some new lil members as well
Anyways just an idea. If majority still really like having the weekly ticker changes I am A-OK with that as well

Man, my lady bits are falling asleep! Normally only when I am on the exercise bike (recumbent) but had it happen one other time. Super weird!
