Speaking of hormones! I'm getting irrationally irritated that I can't find onion powder in my house... I wanted to try a new recipe for chicken and its literally 5 ingredients. And I cant find it! I swear I see it every other time I look for seasonings or spices except now... so unless anyone has a simple chicken recipe for breasts and thighs I'll be making chicken alfredo instead and I'm salty about it... maybe this should be in Monday bf... lol
@mamabearcj ugh, that's the worst! The same thing happened here a week or so ago! Like I know I bought some, but it was no where to be found. How annoying!
On a positive note, I passed my 3hr glucose tolerance test! Thank goodness, that would have been crazy hard to manage on top of the weight loss.
I don't think I ever updated the last I heard from the ultrasound (my follow up appointment is tomorrow). The nurse that called after the OB reviewed everything said the tech was wrong. My placenta is anterior and very low lying. But was not actually covering my cervix (just close). There was/is a SCH (didn't go into size or anything on that). Baby girl is listed as boarderline/threatened IUGR because she hasn't hit the necessary precentile (I think the nurse said the 10%tile for diagnosis is normal?) but is continuing to fall off her own, already low growth curve. They said as long as I am careful and be smart about it/follow the recommendations, and we can keep the bleeding and pain minimal, they won't put me on full bed rest (toddler and all) for now. So we are basically on modified restrictions. No more than an hour on my feet at a time (this seems to be a big trigger for our bleeding), lift restrictions, no pressure/putting anything against my stomach, bleeding means coming in to get checked etc (there's more but you guys get the picture.) I suppose we will discuss it and the extra monitoring/ultrasounds tomorrow. So we are thankful that it wasn't as bad as they were worried it was!
@jomama1618 glad it turned out better than they were anticipating! And congrats on passing the 3 hour test!
@mamabearcj that happens to me ALL THE TIME. For awhile I had 5 jars of cinnamon because I could never find them when I needed them, so I bought more. Whatever you make, hope it turns out yummy!
We we have our first birth class tonight and I’m so not in the mood. I don’t have any idea what to expect, so I realize this is probably off base, but I don’t want to watch a video, or practice breathing in a room full of strangers, or whatever. Apparently I’m grumpy today. Someone who’s already started theirs, tell me it’s worth it?
@mamabearcj all I can think of when I see the name of that chicken is honey butter chicken biscuits from Whataburger and now I’m craving one. Guess I’ll have to send DH for some at 11pm when they start serving breakfast
@halfanewt The info for us was worth it, but I also hated having to practice breathing/labor positions in front of everyone. My husband and I had a hard time with it. It was great information, I just hate to participate. But totally understand not being in the mood! I'm glad that's we're done now and that we did it before my moodiness really hit.
Ours also did some meditation thing at the end. Which we are not into at all. We tried it the first class, but just left early after the rest.
@halfanewt we just had like 1 hour of relaxation techniques, and everything else was videos or the instructor talking. Was partially useful, mostly because it was at the hospital so you could ask specific questions related to the hospital.
I have had such a weird craving for green bean casserole. I had DH make a mini Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and probably ate my weight in it. Then had the leftovers for dinner tonight! Babies make us do such weird things.
I feel like I broke myself running this morning. I forgot my support belt (who knows if it would have helped or not) but ow ow ow my groin wants to split in two.
We just went up tot he mountains with the kids for a few days. I'm so tired. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea... but I guess the kids had fun and it will be the last getaway for a while so whatever.
@missmaehurt I've been craving Thanksgiving food for a while. Ever since I moved away from family almost 6 years ago, I haven't had a big family Thanksgiving meal. We go to my H's aunt's house, but they're Egyptian, so we still have turkey, but all the sides are different. And when I see my fam at Christmas, they don't want the same things they just had. So I keep telling H I want to do a mini Thanksgiving and just have never gotten around to it. Maybe this year since we'll be staying home.

This is how I've been feeling a lot lately... last night every time I woke up I was in pain. At one point every inch of my body hurt, like I had been tensing all of my muscles while I slept. When I turn over to switch sides my pelvic will take 5 min or so to stop hurting.

I'm in awe you can run! good for you girl!! Even running down the hall or doing jump squats makes me pee a little. meh....I seriously need some PT after this kid arrives to strengthen my pelvic floor.
I had a dr appt this morning. I thought I gained at least 10 lbs. on the cruise because I ate everything in sight! I was so excited that I only gained 2 lbs.
ya'll need to STOP with this pumpkin pie talk. its seriously my weakness!! Since its still technically summer, a really yummy version is a pumpkin pie concrete (ice cream). Not sure if you have a Sheridan's or Unforked near you, but my goodness, those are SO GOOD!
at scout camp this weekend someone made pumpkin pie cobbler (in a dutch oven over the fire). it was so good and now i remember that i need to ask for the recipe and try to recreate something similar at home (and share it here)!
I can't wait for an apple pie. We drive an hour every year to go to an Apple festival at this orchard. They make the best apple crumb pies and we always buy at least 2!!! There's always a line for their apple cider donuts!!!!
My H and I already have a date next month to go apple picking and then make a bunch of apples pies. We look forward to the hour after dinner (known as Pie O'Clock in my home) every september/oct/nov.

The fact that you’re running is amazing! I can barely walk. Every step hurts my pelvis.
I wish more people in my house liked pie. My family is weird; the kids will occasionally try it, but H is a solid nope on fruit pies. That being said, I'm still going to continue making pie. I made one earlier this summer (peach blackberry) that was amaaaaaazing.
I wear this shirt multiple times a week so obviously I’m a fan of pie and yes I had to screenshot from their site because mine is in the washer since I wore it two days in a row. Also pumpkin pie is fucking amazing year round.

Will update again with how it turns out(:
Well it was delicious! DH couldn't get enough so I'm impressed lol

Too bad the flies agree with. Thankfully the mosquitos don’t seem to be out.
I dont want to jinx myself but DS has been sleeping so much better this past week. FX this continues!
Just checking in and saying hi!

mmmmm pumpkin pie!
Apple pie spiked with wild cranberries and currants- now that is something I genuinely miss from living in Alaska...
