Starting to get out of breath/can't get a good breath feeling. And then my heart will start pounding. At first I couldn't tell if it was anxiety (because stress at work) or the kid. But I was just sitting here at my desk, feeling fine. Then I felt her move, and then all of a sudden I felt the out of breath feeling for a few minutes. Then went away again. So kid must just be up super high or she's pushing on it.
Also, so much acid reflux. Likely for the same reason.
I know itching is common, but it's been really itchy lately. I called my OB this AM because my palms and feet have been super itchy, but i'm also itchy all over. No signs of rash. The palms/feet is a sign of obstetric cholestasis which is liver bile issue. I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but my coworker has been monitored for it for the last two weeks because of her symptoms.
My LO decided to give me a scare this morning. Woke up with bad cramping at 4 am but no spotting or anything. Very little fetal movement all morning even after eating and drinking so I called my OB. I thought they would just have me see one of the doctors in the office but nope, they sent me to L+D to be monitored. Everything is totally ok, her heartbeat was good, position and fluid levels are good in her ultrasound, and I do not have any cervical change. Also confirmed—her foot is up in my ribs!
Thanks baby, for having a lazy morning and scaring the crap out of me! I’m back to work and now she’s having a dance party. Little stinker!
So exhausted I thought I was sleeping through the night but it must be a very restless sleep since I go to bed early and still wake up like I haven’t slept a wink.
I’m exhausted. Like I legitimately almost fell asleep at my desk yesterday exhausted. I got up and took a walk to get my blood flowing then, twenty minutes later, I almost fell asleep at my desk again. I’m was so desperate to keep it together that I went down to Starbucks for an afternoon iced coffee. Then I was still struggling.
I was supposed to go to a work event last night that my team planned, but I bailed to go home and take a nap. Thought maybe I’d do a workout to try and get my energy back since it kinda worked the day before, but I was just too tired. I’ve been having trouble sleeping for the last few nights (which I know is common at 30+ weeks pregnant, but I have *never* had trouble sleeping before).
I’m so thankful that I’ve had a healthy pregnancy so far and I’ve been very lucky, but I’m struggling with this lack of sleep thing... and it terrifies me since lack of sleep is clearly going to come with the territory of having a kid and all. I feel like I’m going to be the worst mom ever if I can hardly function with little sleep now. How am I ever going to make it once kiddo gets here?
I never got the 2nd Tri burst of energy, so i'm bummed that i'm now in the 3rd Tri energy suck, lol. I have been working on this New Kid's baby blanket for 5 months now and just pray that I can find the time and motivation to finish it! I was reading bedtime stories to DS1 and DS2 last night and ended up falling asleep! Luckily they were having a good night and put themselves to bed. sheesh.
Also, i'm getting to the point now in the past week where I have no ankles. I feel like the swelling started much later with the previous two boys. I'm also getting nauseous when the baby moves around a lot. This kid is super active and I feel giant and uncomfortable now.
@ladyofarlington I share your same concern. I'm terrible without sleep and exhaustion is unbearable. I am trying to convince myself that as tired as I am once baby is here, it still won't be the same as tired AND pregnant.
@mamabearcj This is my life!!! Peeing has become such a process. I pee, sit there for a while, try to push more out, then get up holding toilet paper there, push again and 95% I pee more. Then wipe again. And even then sometimes there is dribble. I feel like it now takes 10 mins and half a roll of paper.
@nikimelon - agreed! Some of my friends who just had kids were all “you’ll be fine” but I’m having a hard time believing them. I’m known to not be very nice if I haven’t had at least 7 hours of sleep. Gulp. And I really prefer to get at least 8. Double gulp.
@KFrob yes! Solidarity! I’m tempted to start carrying an extra pair of panties with me just in case they accidentally get a little damp (which may or may not have happened recently... to a friend...).
Dr didn't seem too concerned with itching. He wants me to take 50mg of benedryl before bed, but stop my Zyrtec. I've been taking Zyrtec daily for my allergies for a while and they have been horrible during pregnancy. I'm worried the benedryl won't last all day and by mid day I'll be miserable.
Not really a symptom, but passed my glucose test today!
And my OB okayed Zantac so I got that going for me. I immediately got a buffalo chicken wrap, which I feel like was the wrong response... and tempting fate. But it was so good after fasting for 6 hours.
She also okayed pepsid but wondering if anyone found a major difference between that and Zantac?
Omg so glad other people are dealing with pee. It used to come out easy, and now I feel like I have to push and pus to get it out and it STILL doesnt all come
If you feel like you’re not getting it all out when you pee, lean forward when you think you’re done. I guarantee there will be a little more. Sounds stupid but it works.
I think I dribbled out for 2 solid minutes when I peed mid flight a few weeks ago. I felt like nothing was coming out! Now that I'm on solid ground, I just feel like I reallllly have to pee but it's just a 2 sec stream. All that waddle running to the bathroom for that?!?!
I’m 28 weeks today. Still feeling good but having a harder time getting comfy in bed and getting up to pee at least twice a night. Also noticed my rings are getting a bit snug so I took them off.
Did anyone get support socks? I’m taking the train to Montreal tomorrow (around 6-7 hours sitting) so I got some prescribed for my vericose veins. I didn’t think they’d be such a hassle to put on. They literally give you a pair of gardening gloves with rubberized palms so you can “work them up the leg”. They wouldn’t be my first choice for travel in the summer but I hope they help!
S/o pantiliners, can we talk about panties? I’m still wearing the same style cotton VS thongs I’ve worn for over a decade but think the time has come where I may need something with a little more, uh, coverage? I bought a random package of something from Costco to try out as I’ll obviously need something with more coverage post party. Anyone have anything they like?
@jenchoo - I don’t have Rx support socks, but I definitely wore compression socks on my transatlantic flights and they helped significantly reduce ankle swelling. Varicose veins, on the other hand, have pretty much taken over my poor legs. Safe travels.
@ladyofarlington also still rocking the vs undies! I find the fuller coverage ones are comfier to wear than thongs have been. I haven't really looked into other brands yet
@ladyofarlington I’m just wearing plain old Hanes bikinis. With both DD and DS the waistband of all of my panties got completely stretched so I just used them during pregnancy and postpartum to avoid ruining my good ones.
@ladyofarlington I had DH pick me up some cotton maidenform bikinis from Sams Club. I retired my VS undies about a month ago cause they seemed to make me sweat more. I had him get me another pack of them a size bigger for hospital/after labor!
@ladyofarlington I wear either Hanes cotton undies (in a size up to avoid panty lines) or I wear "one size fits all" hanky panky original rise thongs. Post partum will def be rocking some cotton undies.
+1 to everything you've all said. I'm just over it all...
@sammierose464 honestly I cant see the benadryl working to keep you comfortable for that long. It doesnt last all day like zyrtec. Allergies suck, I hope it works for you!
@tlmill I've tried the lean forward pee trick and it doesn't work for me! It's only when I stand straight up that more come out, sigh. It must be something with the way this kid is positioned.
@jemmerjams you are so logical! haha I go through phases where I use panty liners but I don't like the way they feel. Just in case I do carry like 300 in my purse. I bought the biggest bag they had a Target out of frustration one day.
@SweetSweetTooth I keep forgetting to pack extra undies and extra pants! I know the day is coming where I completely pee my pants....
@nmadjeski neither can I, but I will humor my dr for a day or two. I have horrible allergies, including to my cat and dog. I will be cleaning a lot this weekend.
@ladyofarlington i randomly picked up a 2-pack of maternity underpants at walmart a couple months ago because they were $5 or something and they are amazing! this is my 5th pregnancy and the first time i have ever bought them and i wish i had known how great they are. they are really basic but have enough coverage to stay on my butt but are cut lower in the front so they don't bug me even after a full day. so much better than something that doesn't cover or huge ones that cover everything! i think that was my first time at walmart in a good year, but i went back and bought two more packs. i may just keep wearing them after baby if they stay this comfortable.
I got some at a gap outlet just regular (larger size) lacy bikini cut underwear. I also have some maternity underwear from motherhood maternity. And I have some silky low rise bikini cut (I think) from VS from before pregnancy that are still comfortable. I would get more but they are like $15-20 a pair last I looked. No thanks, I will wait until after pregnancy to get more of those.
Same @norahkate! 4th kid and the first time I bought maternity panties. I bought some 'below the bump' panties off of Amazon. They're always in the laundry cuz I wear them as often as I can! I also was on the look out for undies that don't ride on my C-section incision, cuz that's painful.
Guys, I finally found my Gas-X last night and took some. I think my bump shrank a whole size.. Ok maybe not quite, but I feel way less bloated and uncomfortable!
Same thing happened here. Quiet baby for days. I was going to leave work early and go in yesterday.... but that didn’t happen. H pulled out the Doppler last night. Couldn’t find the heartbeat but little boy flipped out and kicked and kicked until we put it away. So he’s ok in there. Lol
29 and 3 today. My feet swell when I can’t get water down but I get nauseous when I drink too much. Need to up my Zantac cause the heartburn is worse. But my appetite came back after a few days of constant nausea so I’ll take that!
30weeks been out of breath for a couple weeks, cant get comfortable in bed he hates things pushing on him, so much movement, ive had colostrum a couple times the past couple weeks, my bellys getting big and itchy when theres a growth spurt then it goes away. Cant wait to pop him out so I can hold him and love on him. The count down begins!
Re: Symptoms 7/26

+1 for the out of breath. it's really gotten worse this week. I find myself trying to talk and needing bigger breaths.

So exhausted
@quiltandknit glad things are looking well.

3rd tri is so far sucking the life out of me. I'm so exhausted. I'm finding it very hard to keep up with my 2 yr old.
+1 to all the pee and discharge. First thing I do when I get home is remove my underwear and go commando in comfy shorts.
+1 to everything you've all said. I'm just over it all...
