Trying to Get Pregnant

Random Month of July

Re: Random Month of July

  • @KristoKekerooni +1 for dermatology, and do it ASAP. If anything is weird and they have to send you for removal/testing it can take a few months for that visit, and that is the expensive one.  Check your whole body beforehand, and trust your gut! I had a new "mole" that I didn't like, and the Nurse said it looked normal.  I wanted to have it biopsied anyways and it turned out to be BCC.

  • Oh, I didn't take into account that I'd have wait times to see specialists. The one good thing is that my insurance isn't on a January cycle. It restarts in April, so I actually have a while...

  • @KristoKekerooni, I keep meeting my oop max, and keeping making jokes of about getting free surgerues, and keep jinxing my dumb*ss self lol.

I am having carpal tunnel on an arm that doesn't really need it . Our medications free?  I have been getting a ridiculously amount of inhalers.  I too am getting allergy (patch) testing.  Eye exam?  (Only works if you have a medical eye condition, or else it goes to vision insurance or is self pay.)

I have a lot of health issues, so I have specific stuff, like I decided to figure what is wrong with my back.  So I am getting free physical therapy.
    Need any veins lasered?

I will keep thinking and let you know if I think of anything else.
  • Has anyone ever been in a book club?  I have been thinking of joining at my library, but wasn't sure what it was like
  • @holly321 The only book club I’m in is the one that was created quite a while back on here.  If you’re interested in joining, I can send you an invite

@KristoKekerooni I have 0 IF coverage. My RE coded my recent lap/Hysteroscopy as painful periods & pelvic pain. Insurance didn’t bat an eye & covered it!  Hoping they do the same for you.
  • @lulu1180, I would love to join.  I love reading, but I am terrible about choosing what to read and need someone to pick for me.
  • @holly321 , Oh, I didn't think about vein lasers! I don't have any pain or anything, thankfully, so I don't have any needs there. Maybe I should do something about my daily headaches.

    @jrm_14 , that's reassuring!!!

  • Been thinking about it for a while, probably because I lurk on the bmbs way more than I should. They have a fit mom weekly post and I thought about doing something like that on this board. Would anyone else participate?
  • @spacemountianeer I would be all about that! And there's no shame in the BMB lurk game...and if there IS, then I am also shameful. lol
  • @spacemountianeer There has been a healthy habits thread on the board on and off previously.  It usually just ends up tapering off as people either move on to a BMB or people fall of the wagon as they get further into TTC.  Feel free to start it back up!

  • It feels like drive-bys seem to happen in threes.

Even though I'm benched I decided to go buy some prenatal vitamins because I really like the ones from trader Joe's (minus the fact i have to fish oil with them) and the closest TJs  is 3 hours away. We happened to be nearby one and my husband and I go to check out and the cashier scan the prenatals  and in a somewhat loud and naughty tone says "uh-oh! Congratulations!" And then in rushed hushed tones I  had to reply that no I wasn't pregnant just getting ready. The cashier was old enough to have grandkids (there are 2 on the way) and all of his kids are grown so maybe his wife didn't take prenatals before getting pregnant with their 5 kids. I'm not trying to bash the man but I definitely felt a bit mortified. Anyone else have a similar experience?
  • I just had the best blood mary every omg..... the olive was shit, but they always are unless it's a place that really cares about gourmet olives, but the bloody..... yasssss!
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

  • @holly321 I've never joined a library based book club but I have done one with 7 or 8 friends. We rotated hosting; appetizers, wine, talked about the book, talked about life. Was a good excuse to get together with the girls once a month.
  • @spacemountianeer I've not had that happen specifically but I do live in a VERY small town where everyone knows everyone, so I shop for pregnancy tests, prenatal vitamins, etc. either online or when I have an appointment in a nearby city. Pregnancy rumours are too real here.

There does seem to be a lot of people who don't realize you're supposed to take them in advance of trying, just from general discussions I've heard. I recently saw somewhere that the recommendation is now 6 months before TTC instead of the old 3.
  • I have been terrible about my diet this week.  Slipped so bad.  I had McDonald's for lunch on Tuesday, Applebees yesterday, and Taco Bell today.  WTF body??  At least I did go to the gym today.
  • @sparklingdiamond You are not alone. I am struggling lately too. DH made burgers and fries a couple nights ago, then fried chicken, someone delivered muffins to the office today and opened up double stuffed mint Oreo's too. Even though I have been going to the gym, I am still feeling awful about it. Will get back on track.
  • @nitnat007 I am so burned out on doing my PCOS diet with no gluten or dairy.  But yes, we can both get back on track <3
  • @sparklingdiamond have you tried things like coconut ice cream? Not sure if sweets is your downfall or more the gluten. Both are mine lol, so I totally understand. One day at a time.
  • @nitnat007 Sugar is definitely a weakness of mine!!  I need to try coconut ice cream!  Is there a brand you have tried?
  • @sparklingdiamond The SO delicious brand is really good. They do bars and small tubs of ice cream. I really enjoy them and definitely hit the spot for a sweet treat. There is also Halo ice cream and I think they make a dairy free as well which is also really good! And only 90 calories.
  • @sparklingdiamond
@nitnat007 I ate McDonalds for dinner last night. #shamefaced We can all start over next week?
  • @sparklingdiamond @nitnat007 Yes, Halo Top does have a dairy/gluten free option.  I haven’t tried that but their regular flavors are sooooo good!!  I think my favorite is the cinnamon roll!
