  • We have also started donating to RAICES (you can access them by clicking this link) https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/bondfund?source=direct_link&

But I am 100% open to hearing about smaller/local organizations that need funding.
I was just reading about them. Donated.

  • +1 for RAICES. I looked around today and that one seemed reputable and to be doing good work.

  • @mamabearcj I know exactly what you mean. I hate getting waxed like I almost cry every single time, but some things are just unavoidable especially when you can’t see past your belly to shave anymore. I go for my appointment next week before our babymoon!

@estellegetty I'm usually really good about not flinching and talking through it to distract myself but she got me good a few times and I couldn't help but flinch hard core. But I haven't seen my vag in a solid month and a half and there is absolutely NO way I'm having DH shave or trim me lol I'll stick to 20 minutes of pain, 5 weeks of no maintenance!
  • @mamabearcj I usually sleep through my wax, but not while pregnant. Ouch! I haven't gotten it done in months, I'm just rocking hair everywhere cause I don't feel like dealing with the pain. Lol

I just cant let it grow. I don't like it.. but it is way more painful. I have noticed I can go longer between waxes now than before I got pregnant which I thought was weird since the rest of my hair grows faster

@sliztee a trim I could probably feel comfortable with Chris doing, but shave? With a razor?! No no.. he shaves himself against the grain and that doesn't work for me and I don't want to get knicked..
  • Jeff is incredibly meticulous, so I trust him to be gentle with me <3
  • No way anyone but me is getting a razor anywhere close to my lady bits. I’ve done it forever and if it’s not done just right I break out like crazy or get 40,000 nicks. Nope. I shaved 2 days ago and somehow managed to halfway cut off a small skin tag thing I’ve had since I was born. Dang it hurt!!! I’m looking into waxing now. Used to do it myself but there’s no way that’s happening now either.
  • Totally off topic - but I don’t want to eat. Except I do.  But I don’t.  Unless it is salty- but not that.  Or sweet sounds good too- but not that.

I’m just going to go be grumpy about this whole food situation while I stare at my chicken sandwich from Wendy’s.  The fries will probably be gone first.
This is me! Which sucks because I really am trying to eat better.
  • I use an electric trimmer and did that last weekend! Didn't have an issue, but I've got a pretty tiny bump now, so it just need to squat a bit more haha, then perhaps move to the tub and use that to prop up a leg. Idk what's gonna happen when I can't see my feet anymore!

Yeah no way I would trust H to shave my lady parts. I barely trust me to do that shit.

I used my electric razor this morning to give it a trim as DH called it my wookie last night. It was seriously getting out of hand! I can't see it and I did such a hack job. Hahaha

  • So I was absolutely huge with DS super early. I got a small electric trimmer, a big mirror (depending on where you sit, maybe one of those floor length cheap ones from the dollar store) and sit on a towel on the (closed) toilet seat or a chair. Mirror let's you see you got it, no cuts, easy clean up. My skin doesn't react well to long body hair, so this was my life saver!

Ohmygod I would’ve been so stabby over that shit, even if he was right.

  • @knottieamusements This is me too! I just can’t find anything that sounds good. And when I finally do, I feel so stretched and uncomfortable when I’m done eating.

  • H has shaved my legs and trimmed my lady bits, but he's too scared to shave me. He'll take me to get waxed (and he wants my old boss to let him rip the strips lol) but he'd rather me be hairy than shave me. Luckily I barely have any hair compared to what I used to. I got waxed every 4 weeks on the dot when pregnant with Z and at least 50% of the hair just stopped growing back in. It's amazing cause I was one hairy lady before!!

  • @rc-cola yes 8 million sounds right. I was looking into them last night and though that was really impressive!! Thats who I donated to.

I've kept to myself how I feel about all of this because my parents (that we live with) feel very different than I do. I just cant look at the pictures anymore. The sound clip of the children crying had me in tears. I wish there was more I could do to help.

I want to go get waxed but I've never done it before and I definitely need to do something! Lol SO said he'd help me out but that makes me nervous too. I'm just let him help and hope for the best
  • Where the cat lovers at?...
We got our cat in October as a stray and now he's about a year old. Lately (I think since it's been getting lighter so early) he's been waking us up so freaking early. He basically gets into everything and makes noise until we wake up. My husband is getting pissed about it and talking about getting rid of him. I'm annoyed too, but I think we can make some changes to help. Like I think he's bored af and needs stimulation, so I want to get some new cat toys and make it a point to play with him more often. Plus, it's normal for a cat to be up that early, I just wish he didn't have to involve us. But let's face it, our lives are about to drastically change and we won't be able to sleep in anymore anyway. (If we were real adults we would get up that early anyway, instead of waiting til the last possible minute to get out of bed.)

Baby was kicking and flipping around like crazy this morning about that time too. I wouldn't have been able to immediately go back to sleep. So we're about to have two early risers anyway....
  • Also @knottieamusements I feel the same way about food. Most times I eat because I know I have to in order to maintain my blood sugar, but I really dont want anything.
  • cjx95cjx95 member
@hannaht8516 when you guys wake up does he just want attention or to be fed? If we don't leave food out our cat would sit on the bed and meow nonstop until someone woke up and fed him, the longer it took to feed him the closer to your head he would get..
when we got him he was starved so I think if he didn't see food in his bowl he'd panic. Now that we've had him for a little over 2 years he knows that were gonna feed him so he doesn't get annoying at night. We also started letting him outside and that's helped with his pent up energy but if you want to keep him an indoor cat I'd get a lot of stimulating toys, puzzle toys for treats, catnip toys, etc..
  • @hannaht8516 cat lover here! Our cat is turning 4 in August and he's still pretty rambunctious and loves a lot of attention. He'll do things like knock stuff off counters to get us to wake up, which isn't ideal.

We found the only things that really helped with that were giving him more attention throughout the day, providing a lot of soft toys for him to play with at night, and feeding him right before we go to bed so that he's not crying at 4 a.m. for breakfast. It's helped quite a bit but there are still days he loves to scratch at our bedroom door. Like on Saturdays, when we totally don't need to be up early.  :p
  • @mamabearcj he acts like he's starving ALL.THE.TIME. Probably because he was a stray and was super starving/malnourished/on the verge of death. Any time we walk in the kitchen, he follows and acts like he needs to be fed, even 5 minutes after he's eaten. Vet said that was stray mentality, but I'd like to keep him on the schedule and eventually learn that he's fine. We've talked about getting him an auto-feeder though so we can set it at other times. Problem is the dog always tries to eat his food, and we don't want him on counters or anything so I don't know where we'd put his food so the dog can't get it. I'll have to look into it more and see if I can't figure something out for that.
  • @nikimelon I think this is what we need to do. I think he's just very bored, and HE thinks he's starving. My husband is pretty over it, but I just said that we can't expect the cat to change without us making some changes. So I think we need to play more, get more toys, and figure out a feeding schedule that works (I thought we had, but apparently not). I'm going to the dollar store at lunch to see what cat toys I can find.
  • For a kitten I recommend getting some cat toys and trying to play with him to get his energy out.
  • +1 to always hungry but never wanting to eat. And I always feel hungriest right after I do eat.

  • @hannaht8516 Super cat lover here! Bagheera used to be a terrible morning cat, so we moved their feeding time to 5:30pm. Both our cats get fed once per day, which seems to work for everyone. Hope that helps!

We need a bigger car and it is really stressing me out.  We were trying to keep it to 1 car payment at a time but it doesn't seem like that's going to be possible right now.  And cars that will fit 3 carseats all seem so expensive.  Ugh.

  • Thanks for the kitty input! I went to buy some new toys at lunch (the dog usually steals them so we'll see how it goes), and trying to make sure to give him more attention during the day. Going to play with some feeding times too to see if that helps. He seems to be sweet for a while, then goes off the rails, so it's a trial and error type thing.
