I survived my fast and inhaled an enormous sandwich after my appointment was over.

My child fell asleep in a weird place once ever in his life. Bounced himself to sleep in his jumper. Stayed asleep for about 5 minutes and woke up and started jumping again.

@PensiveCrayon I agree with the just bad at naps. It doesn’t seem to matter if we have noise or not. Sometimes he sleeps with the vacuum on and dogs barking, other times he won’t. Today he jabbered in his crib for 2 full hours during nap time , so he should be exhausted, but he is still up there over an hour after we put him down singing to himself.

@PensiveCrayon I always see pictures of my friends kids who fall asleep in the middle of playing or will fall asleep anywhere and I'm like nope.. not my kid. He has never once fallen asleep playing or anything and he will not nap unless he is home or at my MILs. I've tried to get him to nap at my mom's because we go visit her every other Saturday all day and he does not nap. He's always in a good mood so it's whatever, but I wish he'd nap. lol
@clbness Yup! Same with DS, he will not fall asleep when we are out and about or at a friend's house or anything. When we went to Canada to visit our friends for a weekend, I don't think he napped there either. He's also NEVER fallen asleep while playing, ever. This kid is always go go go. lol I love it though, wouldn't change him or it for the world.

Team terrible napper here. DD’s naps have indeed taken over my life. I pretty much don’t go anywhere between 12-3 unless I absolutely have to. I think we ruined her with sleep training (needing a routine to go to sleep) and just generally being homebodies so she doesn’t sleep anywhere but at home. Also +1 to having a FOMO child. She’s been that way since she was an infant. I’m crossing all my fingers this baby likes to sleep.
Our naps have gotten more flexible in the last 6 months (he's 18mo). He successfully napped in the car and at a hotel over the weekend while we were traveling. He doesn't fall asleep in the middle of doing things, but with his blanket & sound machine we can put him down most places anymore. This has helped tremendously with when we go to my parents & in-laws and want to stay later than his bedtime or are there over nap time.
My Amazon registry welcome box finally shipped!!!! Woooo-I think I'm probably getting way over excited, but whatever's in it will be my first stuff for baby lol.
My classmates invited me to meet for a drink and I said yes but now I’m wondering how to not drink and not have it be obvious..

@katy0990 for Amazon, you have to add something from each of their prescribed categories, then something has to be bought (I ordered myself some belly butter) and then they'll ship it out. Once I get mine, I'm going to go back in and change a lot of the registry because it seems like some of the categories are redundant. I'll report back about what's in the box!
@morgantu well now I feel like I got gypped last time. I had a small Amazon registry when I was pregnant with my son, but I never got any free goodies. I may have to create one this time after you report back.
DD opened a scab on her knee today at the park, and lord, the blood. DS was losing his shit. “Mom, stop the bleeding. Mom, take her shoe off. Mom, don’t you have any bandaids?!” And then also, “it’s okay Laura, it’ll be okay I’m pretty sure”. It’s so sweet that he’s so empathetic but he doesn’t really make these situations any easier, lol.
@runrinserepeat let's see... A Pampers wristlet with a couple diapers, a MAM bottle, Cetaphil shampoo, body wash, lotion samples, nursing pads and cream, an spf hat, a Bert's bees wash cloth, and some coupons for bamboobies and a couple other things. Plus a free $25 gift ( and free shipping) from iplay when you sign up on their website. Definitely worth it. You just have to create a registry with them and add a couple items. I don't remember if there was a fee for shipping if there was it might have been $5
+1 for a baby who won’t fall asleep just anywhere.
@coco2787 I can’t believe you fasted that long! So glad it’s over and cereal as dinner is totes legit.
Trying to get caught up. Excited to see you guys getting things for babies, such a fun time!!
Sorry I’ve been AWOL. TW: death/OD mentioned in spoiler
My sister died of an overdose Monday night and I’m a mess. I’ll probably be on sporadically as it hits me in waves. She was a trauma nurse and a Grand Prix level equestrian. She had this absurd level of built in snark that was too funny. Just an incredible person, but struggling with this horrific addiction since an injury 5 years ago. Not posting to be a sympathyW, just wanted to share about her bc I miss her.

@katy0990 sometimes I’ll just keep him sleeping in the car while I clean it or I’ll just treat myself to some secret McDonald’s. He’s much better outside of the house. When we’re home all day he’s like “nah.”
@hbmama21 I’m so sorry for your loss, your sister sounds like she was a wonderful person. I am thinking about you and your family. Addiction is terrible, and life long. Hugs.
