My newest symptom is a wicked headache... which of course I cant take anything for. It was so bad last night it woke me up from sleep. I called and they of course had me come in. So far all labs look good, but they are having me do a 24hr urine sample. At least I can work from home tomorrow.

Anyone else have pain radiating down their right leg starting in their pelvis? I mean my hips have been hurting so bad for the last few days, but today it's that plus the pain shooting down the back of my leg to the point of almost being in tears. Tried the pool which usually helps the pelvic/hip pain but it didn't touch it, so gonna try tylenol when I get home. Seems like baby is laying on a nerve, but curious to see what my cervix check reveals Friday.
@kbernal2021 sounds like sciatica. I get it too but the chiro has really helped me a ton! My hips don’t burn in pain as often. Right now i think i have a pinched nerve somewhere near my left ankle because it feels numb. If i stop moving it’s very uncomfortable. Hopefully Tylenol will help it.
@wildtot can sciatica be on both sides? I had it a lot earlier in pregnancy on my left side which may be why I thought it was only favorable to the left?
@kbernal2021 yes it can! I’ve had it at the same time but usually it will favor one side. Depends on what i do throughout the day. Try doing some stretches for your lower back and I’ve it.
@kbernal2021 it could in theory be on both sides, though I think that's usually more rare. Guess it would totally depend on which nerve/where is pinched. Who knows - one side could be typical sciatica and the other baby nerve lean. When my sciatica gets really bad I cross my ankle A over the knee B while lying in bed and slowly pull leg B towards my chest until it feels better - easier said than done with baby bump though! I lived on a yoga ball around this time with my first and that helped with the stretching/opening the pelvis and relieving the pinch.
Thanks @wildtot and @gingerbride26. Definitely going to try some stretches along with a warm shower, because it's so bad that walking is incredibly painful at this point. Did you notice immediate relief from a chiropractor or was it after a few visits?
@kbernal2021 i was sore for the first day but after that most of it went away and i see her weekly. I have bad days but it’s only when i over do it. Otherwise the pain is manageable to where i can sleep most nights without the burning pain. Your ob might also recommend PT if you want but the chiropractor has helped immensely. I found acupuncture helpful when i was pregnant with DS.
@kbernal2021 I suggest going to the chiropractor even though you're so close. Making sure everything is in alignment can also help for a better vaginal labor experience (which I'm guessing is plan A since you mentioned being induced not a planned c). Check for someone Webster certified so they can help with both at the same time. My guess is they will want to see you 2-3 times before your date and it'll be well worth it. I see my chiropractor tomorrow and almost feel like counting the hours between now and then.
@kbernal2021 yes I get sciatcia on both sides at times but usually it is one and than switches. I know you only have two weeks left but a massage or chiropractor can definitely make it feel much more manageable. Also look up piriformis stretches. there are quite a few you can modify to help release the tension. Or sit on a tennis or lacrosse ball
I am so itchy tonight. I'm going to try and take a bath and see if that helps. I had PUPPS last time but it was localized to just my stretch marks. This tonight is all over. Half of me thinks it is just in my head.
Also I am beyond over acid reflux. I also do not understand how this child can put so much pressure so low while at the same time killing my ribs.
@lindsayleigh1989 same boat! She’s on my bladder (the amount of TP i go through is insane) and it’s like she’s a string bean and kicking my ribs and stomach. Tums are my best friend now. Have you found any relief other ways?
@lindsayleigh1989 I get so itchy at night! It happened randomly before I got pregnant, but seems to happen almost nightly recently. Itchy all over and restless legs too. Not a good combo when it’s already hard enough to find a comfy position on the couch and in bed.

Thanks ladies. Definitely going to look up some chiros and see how soon they can get me in. No planned c section here but really needing to make it to the 2nd which is my induction date so DH can be here for the birth, so also gonna need to keep that in mind during my chiro visit!
@And846 I'm with you on the acid reflux! I talked to my doctor last week and they gave me a prescription for prilosec, it seems to be making a huge difference so far!
@kbernal2021 So many similarities! I’m going to be induced on July 2nd (if baby hangs in there that long) and I’m trying to hold off labor until then so my DH can be present too. Is your DH working out of town until July also? And I agree with PP, going for a massage or chiropractor appointment will totally be worth it if you still have 2 weeks, but maybe skip the massage and just stick with chiro if you want to delay any labor.
I am for sure getting a massage this week. My calves and butt cheeks are so sore! and my arms as well from sleeping all weird. I hate it! Yoga helped tremendously tonight so I just also need to be better with doing more of that at home not just my weekly class.
Been super forgetful lately. I’ll tell myself to do something and within a min i already forgot what it was. Like it seriously just happened now! I forgot what i was going to post about...maybe I’ll try later...to be continued
eta i just remembered! I’ve lost my appetite for real food. I’ve been snacking a lot of random food but hardly and real meals. Maybe it’s being stuck at home that my food doesn’t look appetizing?
@wildtot food doesn't sound good to me either. It's affecting my meal planning because i forget everyone else has to eat because I don't want to and I forget to take things out of the freezer and then I have to come up with something random for everyone to eat on.
I am so tired today. Like, I don't know if I can function, why can't I call out of work tired. DH jokingly asked me if I have any sick days left. I need to spend Wednesday not leaving the house and try and entertain DS around here because I think I'm overdoing it and that's what is making me so tired.
+1 to being super forgetful. My husband and I made a grocery list last night and apparently I kept repeating the same items over and over. I'm mentally checked out until this baby gets here.
@And846 +1 for reflux. They gave me an RX while i was in the hospital - but it says don't take if pregnant (GI had already warned me of that but said it's only an issue in 1st trimester) and it also says may cause or worsen Lupus and I'm already ANA+ with a pattern indicative of lupus.... BUT I've actually found the Alka-Seltzer heartburn+gas relief chews better than tums this pregnancy
+1 for not being super hungry - I just don't have room to juggle all the food and water they want me to somehow get in here - maybe if I woke up to eat every 2 hours? yea no mama needs sleep. @SmashJam I feel you - I actually fell back asleep after DH and DD left for the day with the lights on and fan off for another half hour. So not like me.
My doc wrote me a prescription for Dexilant and it's been working well for me for the acid reflux. Last pregnancy I took Prilosec and it worked great too.
ugh thought this stuffy &runny nose/headache was allergies but took some Zyrtec and still happening. Think I have a summer cold which sucks because as if sleeping wasnt impossible as it is, I am legit up once an hour blowing my nose
Ugh. Newest symptom is just due to having reached the stage where the second I stop moving I need to sit immediately or feel like I'm dying. I hate this stage because I feel like such a lazy bum... but OUCH! Majorly sucks for a Type A personality forced to leave chores left undone, lol.
@d_marie_23 Same. It sucks. I want to clean the house so bad, but my feet hurt by the end of the day when I get home. All I can do is sit on the couch and put my feet up.

Forgetfulness...get this...I wrote thank you cards, and I addressed one to my friend and HER SON'S NAME instead of her husband....facepalm...not just in the card but ON THE ACTUAL ENVELOPE too...losing brain cells by the minute.
Meals? You mean whatever I grab from the fridge and eat regardless of the time of day? I made a pasta salad yesterday and that's all the food prep I can do these days. I am seeing a friend at 5pm this afternoon and apparently that's when they eat so I will be eating there. I just want to not cook anymore, which sucks because I enjoy it. I also have a bunch of bananas that are perfectly brown for banana bread but have not even had the energy to do that!
Last night I had avocado toast, a HB egg, a little pasta salad, and chips with hummus. SO HEALTHY. Ugh!
@emsnedds my husband is away for 6 months of training and left beginning of June. They are letting him come home for the birth of the baby but not sure when he will get to fly in and not sure how long they're letting him stay before having to go back. Which is why we are inducing on the 2nd, my dr allowed us to choose a date in the 39th week that my husband was able to come home for. Original due date is the 8th, and I'm not concerned baby won't stay put until induction on the 2nd, although I would be worried if I were in your shoes and dilated to a 3 already lol
@kbernal2021 I’m happy to hear you can be induced while your H is in town! FX your baby stays put until the 2nd (:
Anyone else scared to have their cervix checked in case it accidentally gets labor started? After all the crazy symptoms I had last week after my appointment, I’m scared to get checked again. But it’s also gonna drive me crazy not knowing if I’ve progressed more or not. Trying to keep this baby inside until DH gets back will be the most selfless thing I’ve ever done, cuz Lord knows I am so over being pregnant. (Ignore the fact that I can’t actually control when this baby decides to make his/her appearance.)
@emsnedds FX your little one stays out until your husband can be there as well! Maybe try holding your legs together real tight and keeping those feet as high up as possible here's to wishing it were that easy lol
I have had lots of painful pubic bone pressure yesterday and today all of a sudden, plus some minor foot and ankle swelling. The pain makes me waddle like crazy. No pressure on my cervix or butt, just the pubic bone so I think baby must be resting her head on it. Had my 36 week appt today and OB said it wasn't something to worry about. Baby is still head down (yay!). She did a cervix check which didn't hurt as much as I expected, and the GBS swab which was quite uncomfortable. That dry swab...shudder! Anyway, I am 1.5cm dilated and about 50% effaced! Looking forward to seeing if I progress more by next week.
@emsnedds I'm tempted to decline the cervical check on Thursday...yes I'm a member of the group that gets uber crampy and contractiony but it's more because I want to be in denial... I was 1 cm 40% at 33 weeks before being admitted and I was having contractions in the hospital and have had a lot of pelvic pressure and cervical pain any time I try to do anything more than lay in bed... kid needs to stay put for 5 more week!
@flockofmoosen3 is it routine for them to check cervix during GBS swab testing, or did you request? I'm tempted ask to see if there is any scar tissue covering my cervix from my LEEP 2 years ago..but also don't want to get crampy and contractiony like @gingerbride26 is saying... How much touching is involved in a cervix check... is it similar to a pap or more involved?
I am having mine checked on Friday and I will be 38 weeks pretty much (officially on Saturday). I am not in a hurry as I mentioned before but also I am an FTM and have been pretty comfortable so far. I also don't want to go back to work before the week I picked in October I keep telling the baby to just come on his due date and be in that 4% of babies who arrive just on time!
I am pretty curious about my progress. But I will admit that with a small baby and no contractions whatsoever I don't think there will be any progress at all. If it happens to start labor let's at least hope it's not immediate because my mom arrives on the 28th and I DEFINITELY need one more week to train the new guy and write training material that I can't bring myself to write...so lazy...
@canucklehead123 I think it is just coincidence that the two are done the same week, first cervix check (which can be declined) and GBS swab. OB said we don't have to do the cervix check again until week 39 but I will probably get them each week. They don't make me crampy or spot. There are no tools involved in the cervix check, so while they are literally sticking their hand up your vagina for a manual check, it should be quick...and possibly painful the first time (mine were in past pregnancies). Def no need to do them!
